Chapter 23: The Plan&Reality Cheque

Dad was enjoying keeping mum and I curious. Since he pointed out he had a plan, ten minutes later he had not told us anything and we were almost emptying out glasses of the delicious Mango juice. None of us however seemed to be in a hurry to ask what the plan was. As long as he was punishing Gabriel I was happy and content.

"So, mum what happened to you?" I asked to end the long awkward silence. I could see a bandage on her forehead, similar to the one dad had a couple of days back and since Blake was not around who could have done that to my living hypocritical mother?

"It's not like you care" she said and looked away twitching her mouth muscles. Something she did to show disdain. Now that was the version of my mother I was familiar with. Funny how the peace we made lasted for hours and it was not hard to tell who between us was pretending.

"I wouldn't ask if I didnt care"

"Let's just say your mother is ashamed to tell you Tessa" Dad joined in the conversa
