MIKAYLA'S POV* “Yes, Mikayla,” Axel pulled my focus to himself, but I forgot why I came into his office in the first place based on the other party in the room. Releasing a deep breath, I said, “I have to go home and make the Alpha’s dinner.” I cast my head to the right, keeping my view on the filing cabinets near the corner of the room as I spoke to avoid the two pairs of piercing eyes in the room. “I’d like to head back now.” Axel chuckled, so I sent him a hard look. Then he said with a straight face, “I agree. You should go home and take care of your Alpha.” “Thank you,” I politely turned on my heels. *HERON’S POV* Closing my eyes was to shut out the overbearing presence of those around me. I am in the den at the cottage, lying on the alabaster white slipper couch.
