LOGINIt all began when the devil was first sent out of the heavens. He had wandered on earth in loneliness until he found a human woman who loved and accepted him the way he was. She was bonded to him, and she hoped that he'd turn away from his evil ways, but it wasn't easy to get the devil to turn a new leaf. He went on with his deceitful behavior, and the woman left him when she couldn't take it anymore. She eloped with a human male, but she discovered that she was pregnant with the devil's son. She tried everything to terminate the pregnancy, but it didn't work out well for her, and when she finally had the baby, she threw him into the forest, hoping he'd die there. But, the devil found his son, and raised him to be a proper demon.
Life as a half-demon and half-human wasn't an easy one for Lucas. The other demons always made jest of him, reminding him everyday that his human mother rejected him, and that he had no place in hell. This caused Lucas to be mad with rage, and he hated humanity. As a result of this hatred for mankind, Lucas went on a killing spree, crushing everything that lay in his wake. He destroyed dozens of villages, and even killed those of his kind. This continued until the demons and other supernatural beings feared him so much that even the whispers of his name rained terror on them. Rumour had it that Lucas had burned his mother alive alongside her human husband, and this stirred up a fight between him and his father, who hadn't still gotten over his feelings for his first love. Thus, Lucas was banished from hell, and sent away to live with the humans he despised. Even in the human world, he was still feared because of the dark aura around him. But what nobody knew was that Lucas had not killed his mother. Instead, he held her captive and chained her in an abyss. And because she couldn't grow old and die like other humans as a result of the devil's gem inside of her, she lived at the mercy of her ruthless son for a hundred years. Whenever Lucas was angry, or had meted out wickedness to those he could've pardoned, he'd come to see her, and torture her. He'd remind her that she made him evil. But for the past two months, Lucas hadn't visited his mother. Those were the times when he met Aria. The human who scolded her customers for trying to run away when he walked into the cake shop. She had spoken sweetly to him, and during their conversation, she told him that she wasn't scared of him, and that his demeanor didn't mean he was evil. She said they could be friends, and she wouldn't judge him based on what people thought of him. The devil's son was soon to soften as he found someone who believed that good could still come out of him. He interacted more with people, and his employees started to become comfortable around him. Lucas even considered releasing his mother, and taking her back to his father who had been without a woman since she left him. All of these was because he had Aria, the woman who brought the good out of him. Though they weren't an item, and they never hung out together, the calls and the texts were enough to change the heart of Lucas, but none of that mattered anyone as once again, his anger had made him lose someone he cherished. First, he had lost his father, now, he was about to lose Aria, and he blamed his mother for it. Anger washed over him, and he decided to pay his Frankenstein a visit. So when he ordered the demon driver to take him to the chambers, he meant to be taken to his mother's prison. As Lucas walked into the abyss, the prison gates that held his mother opened, and he walked in. The woman was startled to see him, and she began to sob. "Hello mother." Lucas greeted. He had a wicked smile on his face. "Lu...cas?" The woman stuttered. "You look surprised to see me. Were you hoping that I'd be dead, the same way you did years ago? Didn't you miss seeing me around here?" Lucas asked her, and walked slowly to where she sat, her hands chained to the walls on her back. A flicker of flames appeared on his fingertip, and Lucas touched her face with it. She screamed out in pain, and Lucas laughed. He liked the sizzling sounds her burning flesh made. "It's a shame that you haven't gotten used to this little game of ours. You still cry and yelp like a crybaby. I guess I must've cried this way too when you abandoned me in that forest to die." He raised his hand to her already bald hair, which occurred due to the several burns she had suffered on it. The flames licked her scalp, and she screamed again, begging Lucas to pardon her. "Lucas!!! Please!!!" She cried out. "You made me like this. I never asked for any of this; it was all your fault. You shouldn't have fallen in love with the devil, and when you had his child, you shouldn't have tossed him away to die. This is all your fault, and I have lost the two people I ever cherished because of the anger you stirred up in me. It's only fair that you get some of it too." Lucas yelled at her, and with that, his hand came alive with a full fire, and he set his mother on fire. Lucas had never done that before. All he did was torture her with the tiny flames that he put on her skin, but today he set her on fire. He knew she wouldn't die from it, but he wanted her to beg for her death, and he stood there watching her scream with undying pains. "That is what you get for creating a monster, Frankenstein. I am the monster you have created, and I'll hunt you till there's nothing but dust left for your remains." Lucas said to her and turned away.Aria shut the door harder than she had intended. The sound echoed through the corridors of Lucas's house_too loud, too final_and for a second, she stood there with her hand still on the handle. The house answered with silence. It always did. Lucas's house had a way of swallowing noise as if it was keeping secrets tucked neatly into its walls. She drew a slow breath and moved deeper into the room, the floor cool beneath her bare feet. Outside the tall windows, the night crouched low and heavy, clouds swallowing the moon. The world beyond the glass looked distant, almost unreal. Inside, the air felt too thick. She didn't know what, or how to feel.Though she was glad that the devil's son had come on time to save her from the vengeful witches, but at the same time, she felt angry that he ignored her pleas and let Selene chase after them.Aria sat at the edge of the bed and pressed her fingers to her temples. The witches' voices slipped back into her mind without invitation."monsters do
Aria lay on the cold Earth long after Venice walked away. The woods had gone eerily silent, as though even nature itself was afraid to breathe in the presence of the witches of the red order. The red candles burned steadily, their flames unmoved by the wind, casting twisted shadows that crawled over the trees and across Aria's trembling body. Her chest still ached_deep, lingering pain that pulsed with every heartbeat. She pressed her palm against it, afraid to feel for a heart that Venice had promised to tear out if Lucas failed her twisted test. Lucas... The name echoed in her heart like a prayer. She truly wished he'd feel her pain, and come to her aid. Though that might seem selfish since Selene had warned against their meeting, but at this point, Aria couldn't care less. All she wanted was to get away from this dangerous witches that laughed in her face while she writhed in pain. She tried to move, but her limbs felt heavy, uncooperative, as though the earth itself was hold
The chamber was unnervingly silent. The kind of silence that presses against your chest and makes every heartbeat feel like a warning. Lucas stood by the tall arched window, his back rigid, shoulders tensed. Moonlight poured in, painting his form in silver, and shadows highlighting the taut muscles of his arms and the fine lines of restraint etched into his golden eyes. He started at Selene who was sitting on the stone bench across from him, the thought of his conversations with Lucifer swirling inside his head. Looking at her, he could make out the faint bruises from the injuries she had sustained from whatever it was that she had decided to keep a secret from him. She seemed calm, but through her silver hair that fell over her shoulders in disarray, her usual radiance had dimmed as though a portion of her essence had been siphoned away. Noticing his stares, Selene turned to face him. "Do you have something to say to me?" "How about I return that question?" Lucas asked, voice low
Levi held the car door for her, and helped her get in. As the car doors clicked shut, and the engine came alive with Levi behind the wheel, Aria let out a breath. All these while, she had been worried that the witches would catch up with her, but now she was out of harm's way. What excited her more was that she was going to be reunited with Lucas. She was so grateful that Levi appeared right when he did. Lucifer had saved her when he had no reason to. That alone intrigued her. At the thought of how much Lucas hated his father, she made a mental note to tell him the role he had played in making sure that she was safe. She felt that there was more to Lucifer than the evil he was known for, and she was determined to make Lucas see that as well. Her head throbbed with pain from the stress she had undergone earlier. She thought of Selene and her warning against she and Lucas meeting before he healed fully. She hoped she wouldn't interfere this time, because Aria wanted nothing more than to
Aria laid curled up in bed, the quilt soft beneath her, with the muted glow of streetlights seeping through the thin curtains. The night was quiet. She closed her eyes, and let herself drift_reminiscing on the good old days when her life was still meaningful. Back then, though her life wasn't perfect, she at least led a nice life. She had a few friends, and she knew nothing about shape shifters, and the supernatural world as a whole. Her sanity was intact, even though she wasn't getting the best out of life. She was a happy girl... until Lucas came in, and turned her life into a living chaos. With him, she had witnessed firsthand cruelty when Lucas beat up the boys that had tried to snatch her bag. Still with him, she saw what it was like to be loved. He loved her no doubt, and she knew this. She didn't need him to say the words to her_the sacrifices he made, and the pain he had gone through for her sake was enough proof of his love for her.She missed his laughter. The soft, yet f
The rest of the night was a restless one for Lucas. His mind wandered off with thoughts of what or who could've hurt Selene so bad that she retreated for safety. The goddess wasn't the type to run away from battle. She was just like him_resilient, stubborn, strong and powerful. Back when they were still together centuries ago, the two of them were a formidable force. No creature or being dared to take a breath when they were near, and the whole realm lived in fear of them. But now this goddess, whose stares alone was enough to drill a hole into a person's skull, came home wounded and helpless. Lucas knew that whatever or whomever could've done that to Selene, they would be powerful enough to even attempt an attack on him. The thought of Lucifer crossed his mind, but he shrugged it off. Even the devil had a level of fear for the goddess, so there was no way he could've been the perpetrator. It was in this moment that Lucas began to regret all the decisions he had made so far. If he
