Damien's Mansion: Damien's POV

The water was still dripping off my skin as I stood there, towel in hand, trying to clear my mind. But I couldn’t. My thoughts kept racing in circles, thoughts of her—Selene—taunting me. I’d been waiting for a breakthrough, a sign, something. But nothing had come. The damn silence was suffocating.

And then, the door to my room creaked open, snapping me out of my thoughts. Alvin stood there, his usual calm demeanor replaced by a rare sense of urgency.

"What's the problem?" I asked, my voice cold, though there was an edge of irritation in it. Whatever this was, I could already feel my patience fraying.

"Boss, you need to see this," Alvin said, his voice tight, almost breathless.

I raised an eyebrow, glancing at him through the mirror as I grabbed a pair of pants and pulled them on quickly. His nervousness was enough to make the air around us heavier. I wasn’t in the mood for games, but I could tell this wasn’t trivial.

"Lead the way," I muttere

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Sixty Three: Exchange Night

Midnight : Ronan's POVMy car pulled into the exchange location. The engine ticked as it cooled down, the only sound cutting through the thick silence of the night. This part of the city was dead after midnight - just how I liked it for business like this.I sat in the car for a while, letting my eyes scan the area. Old habits. You don't survive in this line of work by rushing into things, even when you know what's waiting for you inside."Are we going in together?" Lena asked from the passenger seat. Her voice was steady, but I caught the slight tension underneath. She'd learned to read situations almost as well as I did over the years."No. I'll go in with you, Luca will stay here until he receives a signal for him to come." I checked my watch. Right on time. Punctuality was important in this business - showed respect, even when you were planning to kill each other."Alright boss," Luca replied from the back seat. He was already checking his weapon, muscle memory taking over. Good.

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Sixty Two: Call

Selene's povI let out a heavy sigh, my shoulders slumping as the weight of confusion pressed down on me like a thick blanket. God, what was all this? The question echoed in my mind, bouncing around like a trapped bird desperate for escape. Why was I losing myself so easily? It felt like I was standing on shifting sand, each step making me sink deeper into something I couldn't understand or control. The silence stretched around me like a living thing as I mechanically ate my meal. Each bite felt tasteless, my mind too preoccupied with the swirling thoughts that refused to settle. The fork scraped against the plate with a soft metallic sound that seemed unnaturally loud in the quiet room. After forcing down the last few bites, I pushed the plate away and reached for the package that had been waiting patiently beside me, its brown paper wrapping slightly crumpled from my earlier handling. The weight of it felt substantial in my hands as I made my way back to

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Sixty One: Package

Ronan's POVThe engine of my car purred to a stop as we pulled into the warehouse. Dust kicked up around the tires, settling on the concrete like a fine layer of grime that matched my mood. I stepped out, my Italian leather shoes clicking against the rough ground, and straightened my jacket. Lena fell into step beside me, her heels struggling to keep pace with my long strides. I could feel her eyes on me, that worried crease between her brows deepening with each step we took toward the entrance."Boss, are you really sure about this party?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.I didn't answer. Couldn't answer. My mind was somewhere else entirely—back at the mansion, wondering what Selene was doing right now. Was she eating? Sleeping? Or was she plotting her next escape attempt like the stubborn little wildcat she was?The warehouse doors groaned open, revealing the chaos inside. My men were everywhere—cleaning weapons, counting money, preparing for tonight's exchange. The ai

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Sixty: Only A Mask

Ronan's POVThe engine cut off with a low rumble that seemed to echo in the silence around us. I pushed the car door open, the metal groaning slightly on its hinges, and stepped out onto the cracked asphalt. The air was thick with tension, the kind that made your skin crawl and your instincts scream. My leather shoes hit the ground with a soft thud, and I could feel the weight of eyes watching my every move.I leaned back against the car, the cool metal pressing against my spine through my jacket. The cigar between my fingers felt familiar, comforting even. I brought it to my lips and took a slow drag, letting the smoke fill my lungs before exhaling it in a steady stream. The tobacco taste was rich, expensive - the kind of luxury that reminded everyone exactly who they were dealing with.Salvatore stood there across from me, that same irritating smile plastered on his face. It was the kind of smile that never reached the eyes, the kind that made you wonde

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Fifty Nine: Salvatore

Ronan's POVThe marble steps felt cold beneath my feet as I made my way downstairs. Each step echoed through the empty hallway, bouncing off the high ceilings and polished walls. The morning light streamed through the tall windows, casting long shadows across the floor. Lena was waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs. Her dark hair was pulled back in that same tight ponytail she always wore when business was involved. She stood with her hands clasped behind her back, that familiar look of controlled alertness in her eyes."Good morning boss," I replied to her silent nod of acknowledgment.I nodded back. No words needed between us after all these years. She knew the drill, knew what today meant. As we made our way outside to the car park, the morning air hit my face. Cool and crisp, carrying the scent of rain from the night before. The gravel crunched under our feet as we walked toward the black sedan parked near the gate. The sun wa

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Fifty Eight: What Was This Man Doing To Me

Next Morning: Ronan's MansionSelene's POVI groaned as I slowly woke up. My eyelids felt heavy as hell. The morning sun was hitting my face directly through the big windows of the room, these bright golden streams that made me squire brightness was way too much for my sensitive eyes."Gosh," I groaned again, my voice all hoarse and scratchy as I sat up. My head felt like it was stuffed with cotton, and there was this dull pounding behind my temples that made me wince. The silk sheets bunched around my waist as I pushed myself up, and that's when last night's memories hit me like a truck. The alcohol. How I acted so bold, so not like me at all. The things I said to Ronan. Oh god, how I practically threw myself at him.My face went red, the heat spreading from my cheeks down my neck. What was I gonna do? How could I possibly face Ronan after all my craziness yesterday? The memory of his amused look, how he stared at me like I was some p
