Chapter 6.

Subtitle : A blue rose.

"Ladies and gentlemen, let us welcome his royal highness along with the queen and the crown princess to the ceremony!"

A man shouted in a loud voice and immediately there was a heavy round of applause as the curtains are drawn open and Alice felt dozens of eyes thrown towards her way.

The poeple who were all dressed in noble clothing clapped as the king walked out from the little waitroom, the queen and Cynthia followed him with the queen on his right and Cynthia on his left, Alice tagged along from behind them as the crowd was unable to see her.

She was thankful they were not able to see her though.

Everyone had a mask on and Alice and the royal family were no exception.

Alice had to walk and sit along with Cynthia after the king had just finished greeting the audience.

They all sat and the man who introduced them earlier kept talking about some things in which Alice didn't care to listen to.

After a short while the moment she dreaded finally came.

The man called out to the king who walked up to the stage and started talking to his people.

"We have experience great things happen to us in the land of Mariposa, we have being in peace with all our neighbors and our food and army continued to prosper like no other.

Which is a great achievement I would not have achieved alone, it was because of the sacrifices and hardwork of my poeple that we have come to the stage of being the third most powerful nation on this planet. We are also on very good terms with  the Aceland and the emperor.

I would like to specially thank my queen, queen Helen of mariposa for her hardwork and sacrifices to the land, which of course I shall not forget my very pretty daughter.

Thanks to everyone of you for your good work!"

The king greeted and another round of boring applause filled the entire hall.

Alice rolled her eyes.

'of course you will thank your evil wife for bringing luck to you, totally forgetting you used to have another wife who is loving and caring.

Hah... And of course you'll have to acknowledge your very pretty princess won't you?'

Alice thought in her mind, she was filled with rage and didn't know why exactly, anything just annoys her to the core.

"And now the long awaited moment is finally here...

It is time to introduce my two precious daughters to their poeple."

The king said and the people began to murmur.

"Hah... Precious daughter my foot!"

Alice sneered.

"Yes. Yes... Not most of you know this but I have very gorgeous daughters born to me on the same day."

He said and turned to look at the direction of his family, making hand signs for Alice and Cynthia to join him.

Cynthia was quick to walk up to the stage elegantly as poeple admired her, Alice just walked up hoping no one pays much attention to her.

The king took Cynthia's hands and brought her to the front first, a man dressed in fine clothing walked up to him with with a beautiful crown place on a clean red rag.

"With the power vested in me as king Nicolas Alexandria of Mariposa I hereby crown you princess Cynthia Alexandria as crown princess of the whole of Mariposa!"

The king proclaimed and placed the crown on Cynthia's head as she could not hold her smile, she bowed to her father and turned to the audience as she gently took of her mask and let the poeple look at her face for a moment before she elegantly bowed like a princess would.

The poeple immediately stood up at once and began to applaud her.

"Long live the crown princess!"

The proclaimed and sat back down.

"So young sirs. If any of you would like to be a fine suitor for my beautiful swine you must of course pay a very bounty price for this rare gem!"

The king joked and poeple laughed.

"Now... Let's proceed!"

The king said and Cynthia stepped back allowing Alice Into the spotlight after shooting her an angry stare.

Alice was nervous as she looked at the poeple before her.

"Come here sweetheart!'

The king said and stretched his hands towards her,she almost puked with disgust at the sound of 'sweetheart' but had to obey.

She gently took the kings hand and stepped forward.

"Now ladies and gentlemen I present to you your second princess, princess Alicia Alexandria of Mariposa!, But the few who know her knows well she goes by the name Alice, we'll there isn't much difference is it?

She is your second princess!"

The king announced and poeple began to clap at once.

Alice then proceeded to remove her mask and bowed for a moment as the people murmured for a while and then proceeded to clap, Alice didn't even bother to listen to their murmurs because she knew it would only annoy her more, she stepped back and let the king talk further.

After the king talked for a while more he once again gave Cynthia the chance to speak to the people as their future queen and leader.

Alice just rolled her eyes and walked back to her seat although a few more preying eyes followed her to her seat.

The ball went on with other things and soon it was time for the great dance!

Men began to dance along with their partners.

Alice just sat down and took some apple while she watch Cynthia and the king danced to the also song along with others.

After a while she saw a man dressed in a royal blue attire walked up to the king and Cynthia and began talking to the king, shortly he turned to Cynthia and presented a white rose to her.

Alice watched in surprise as Cynthia blushed with excited as the masked man fixed the white rose to her hair after she nodded.

The people around stopped dancing and watched as their new princess gets proposed to, Cynthia turned purposely to stare at Alice and their eyes meet, she smirked at her and turned back to face the king and the man in blue cloth.

Alice knew exactly what the white rose mean.

It was a tradition in the whole of glitz planet for maidens to recieve rose gifts from their suitors as proposal.

If ever a man walks up to a lady, stretched out his hands and presents her with a rose he is directly proposing marriage to her, and if the lady accepts his proposal she will simply nod her head and then the man would fix the rose to her hair which means they are officially engaged, but the lady will have to show her father the rose first and if he approves then wedding plans can go on.

Usually it would mean nothing to Alice if a man wants to marry Cynthia, but what upsets her is the fact that she got proposed to by a powerful royal.

The crown prince of galaxy wing province!

Alice knew she had vowed to marry a powerful man in other to revenge her mother but it seems her sister had beat her to it and find herself a fine young prince at once!

She felt offended.

She watched as the prince danced around with Cynthia and the people around murmur as they continued to dance too.

Now how did she know that it was a prince and that of galaxy wing at that if she can't see his face?

Well the rose is a symbol.

There are six different types of roses used to propose to ladies in the glitz planet.

The blue, black, white, Violet, yellow and red rose.

The blue rose symbolize power, it is the most powerful rose a woman could ever get proposed to with.

It is a symbol of the Aceland royal household!

Only the emperor and his male sons are allowed to use it as a proposal token.

The black rose belongs to the Crestland royalty which is also one of the most powerful provinces of glitz planet.

The white belongs to the galaxy wing  royal house and only their king and princes can use it.

The violet belongs to the Mariposa royal house, which would not be used for a while since there was no crown prince in Mariposa, there was only but a princess.

The yellow rose belongs to other noble household like the dukes, the prime minister and others.

Lastly the red and most common rose belongs to the rest of the poeple  who are not royalty.

Everyone must be happy that their princess got engaged to a prince, what perfect combo.

Alice sighed in annoyance and stood up from her chair, walking her way towards the crowd, she suddenly felt pressed and needed to ease herself at the moment.

Trying not to gather much attention she wriggled herself between the people dancing and slowly walked towards the exit, she was almost out of the dance floor when suddenly out of no where a tall wall towered over her.

Not exactly a wall, a very tall man stood in front of her and she bumped her face right into his jaw since she was also a tall lady.

"Aah.."

She slowly winced in pains and rubbed her forehead to reduce the pain she felt.

She was annoyed, who would stand in front of her like that?

Suddenly she felt a very familiar scent hit her, a strong mint scent hit her nose.

She had a very keen sensitivity to hearing, taste, sight and skin contact

In simple words her sense organs seemed to be functional two or three times much better than that of a normal person.

Slowly her eyes traveled up towards the face of the man she had ran into and what caught her eyes first was his sleek long grey hair.

A large sense of familiarity washed over her.

Was it the prince she encountered earlier in the day?

She was gobsmacked and brushed it over that it was not possible he had followed her.

He had a mask on so she could not see his face clearly, but his sharp jawline caught her attention at once, and his eyes.

They were silvery sparking and looked like they were clear diamond.

She was mesmerized

They instantly felt familiar.

She quickly looked away and made to walk away in a haste to avoid him but something blocked her way once more.

It was a rose!

Not just any rose!

A freaking blue rose!
