Chapter 8.

The sound of birds chirping outside the window stirred Talia awake.

Yawning, she stretched and pulled the blanket closer. Realizing where she was, she sat up and pushed the blanket off.

Damon was nowhere to be found and his own side of the bed was empty.

"Where could he be?" She mumbled under her breath, glancing toward the door of the silent bathroom.

She took a deep breath, and her eyes suddenly widening as if a memory struck her.

She touched her chest quickly and a sigh of relief escaped her lips when she discovered the band around her chest was still intact.

She couldn't remember much of what happened after they fell asleep. All she recalled was Damon being scared of the dark and sleeping on the same bed with her.

"I hope I haven't done anything out of the ordinary to give me away?" She muttered to Titi as she took her time to look over to her bed.

It had been neatly arranged, as well as her reading table. She made to climb out of the bed when she heard the door crea

Talia frowned as her hand flew to her chest, massaging the discomfort she felt against her ribcage."Selene," she said with a huff, grabbing a hold of her arm, as she swung Selene around to face her. "I want to know what you're doing in my room. This is the boy's dorm, and it's not right."Selene whistled. "I never knew you were the warder now," she mocked."I'm just stating the rules that needs to be followed in our academy," Talia snapped.Selene ignored her completely as she walked deeper into the room. Talia noticed the band on her bed, and she hoped with everything she had that Selene wouldn't spot it. She watched Selene's every move, noting how she took in everything. Talia swallowed when Selene's eyes lingered towards her bed. She stepped in front of Selene, snapping her fingers in front of her face. "What is wrong with you, huh? Talia whispered slowly.She felt a hand on her thigh, and she tried to look up as the pain intensified against her ribcage, and the band dug into her skin, causing her to grit her teeth as she threw her head back in pain."Take it easy," Damon whispered softly.She shook her head.     25Damon walked easily towards the swamp, thinking about Talia. He wants to get her out of his mind, but he couldn't and the worst was his wolf would not stop whining about how amazing she was. It was truly annoying and he didn't like it one bit. It was at the moment, his eyes moved towards the left, and he noticed a figure running through the woods. 'Sage,' Hart whispered too.***"I don't want to do this," Talia grumbled as she was pulled into the opposite side of the school. She gritted her teeth as she struggled to pull her hand from Derek's grasp, but he held firm. Her eyes moved from Derek's sweaty back to the basketball court. There was a night net, tied to a pole, and somehow it made look so elegant. The students were in various sports jerseys, that was differentiated into blue and orange colours, while the female students sat in the bleachers cheering wildly at the men.
