Chapter Twenty-three

When I woke up the next morning feeling dizzy, my head was killing me; it felt like someone was drumming on my head, and I also did not know where I was. I slowly looked around and found myself asleep on the floor of our bedroom. The bottle from yesterday was beside me, almost empty. There were pieces of ceramic everywhere in the room. I slowly stood up from the ground and lay on top of the bed.

The draperies were still closed, and I was very grateful for that. I slowly looked for Aspirin on my nightstand, the one I kept for Kelly in case she ever comes here when she is drunk, and downed it with water.

I got a message from the Queen telling me that I must attend the meeting by ten o'clock today. I scoffed, then put down my phone on the nightstand.

After lazing around in bed till it was almost ten, I stood up and had a shower, and after that, I called Kelly on the phone.
