Lucas's POV

As the realization of the wolfsbane injection hit me, panic surged through my veins. My muscles began to seize up, betraying me as the poison spread through my body.

I gritted my teeth, refusing to let Adam see my weakness. With every ounce of strength left in me, I pushed against the effects of the toxin, struggling to stand even as my limbs trembled uncontrollably.

Adam's laughter echoed cruelly in the quiet forest. mocking my futile resistance. "You were always too predictable, Lucas. So blinded by your loyalty to this city that you never saw the truth."

"What truth are you talking about? You are the one blinded by your greed. How dare you betray our pack!" I said with remorse.

"You don't need to know the details, it will be a waste to tell you because you are going to die anyway." He answered with a grin.

But I won't give up. Not now, not ever. Ignoring the burning pain coursing through me, I focused on my energy.
