CHAPTER 1

"Do you know why you were let out of the dungeon?" Dean asked.

Luna raised her head to look at him, he was staring at her. Their eyes locked, Dean brows furrowed, she was looking at the current Alpha in the eye. Despite the fact that she was his son's mate, he had been the one to throw her into the dungeon.

"I have no idea, why was I released?" She questioned.

Ashford hadn't told her why she was released, he had only told her about her release. She remembered the first day she was trapped in the dungeon, she had asked him to release her in a way that the pack would know her worth. What did he do?

"Father, she is just getting out of the cell." Adrian's voice echoed around the office.

Luna spun around to look at him, he was walking in through the door and into his father's office. Unlike the excitement she had felt when she saw her vampire mate, she didn't feel any excitement as she glanced at Adrian, her werewolf mate.

"I haven't made an announcement about her release, how do you know about it?" Dean asked.

"Father." Adrian called shrugging. "You could at least let her have a bath and have something to eat."

"Adrian, I haven't made any agreement to you about what to do about her. You still want her to be the Luna of this pack."

"Of course." Adrian replied, standing next to her. He pulled her into a hug, Luna's eyes widened and she tried to pull aways from him but he only tightened his arm around her.

"I have missed you." He muttered.

Luna pushed against his chest, he really scented amazing and intoxicating. She didn't feel good hugging someone else apart from Ashford.

"The coronation is in a week, I can't wait for our engagement." He said.

It was then Luna pulled away from him, she couldn't believe him. He was talking about their engagement when he had literally left her in the dungeon.

"What do you mean we are getting engaged?" Luna asked.

"We should have gotten married but since you are just getting out of the dungeon. We have decided to make it an engagement." Adrian explained.

Luna couldn't believe what was happening, her teeth clenched in anger.

"Why was I let out of the dungeon in the first place?" She asked.

"My wife was poisoned, the pack doctor had tried a lot of ways to heal her but it didn't work. Since you have healing powers, we thought it would be great if you could heal her." Dean explained.

"I was released because of this?" Luna asked.

Well what had she been expecting? Dean had thrown her in the dungeon, there was no way he was releasing her for free.

"Yes, you have to heal her." Dean confirmed.

"Okay." Luna asked. "What do I get in exchange?"

Dean glanced at her and she met his gaze, her eyes blazing with determination. There was no way she was going to let them use her without getting something in return.

"Your best friend suggested we give you freedom and that is the only thing that will make you help us." Dean responded. "I don't know what else you will probably want."

"Actually it is a lot." She replied.

"Even if we gave you the freedom that you always wanted, we still have rules that you have to follow if you want to be free and you must not break the rules or you will be executed like the others." Dean said.

Even though his words scared her, she sighed in relief. "As long as I am free and accepted into the pack, I will gladly take any rule. But first, I will have to know what position my father is in this pack and also I still stand on my word, I still want something in return."

"We have given you enough." Dean muttered under his breath.

Luna turned around. "I am locking myself back in the dungeon, you can look for someone else to treat your wife."

Her words held no hint of sympathy, Adrian pulled her arm.

"Your father is no longer the Beta, he broke the rules and we still have him in the pack." Adrian answered her question. "It doesn't really matter, I will pick new beta's when I become the Alpha in a week. What else do you need before you treat my mother?"

The side of Luna's lips curled up into a smirk, she spun around to look at Dean.

"Alpha, I would like my father to be treated the way he was treated before you discovered me." Luna said. "You can't throw away the friendship you both had because of me."

Dean's jaw flexed and he stared at her for a while before slowly nodding his head.

"Fine, it's granted. I will do what you want, now let's get to going."

Dean stood up from the chair he was sitting and led the way out of the room. Luna and Adrian walked behind him, Luna used the opportunity to glance around the environment. The sun was shining down at her as they made their way to the other side. Luna recognized the place, it as the same place that the Lunar Crest warriors had laid dead.

It was the same place where the creatures that came for her were killed. The battlefield was now clean and beautiful, if her head had no memory of what happened one month ago. She wouldn't have known anything about it.

Soon they were in the room, merely looking around the room. Luna could guess that this was the queen's chamber. There was a bed by the corner of the room and the queen was laying on it.

"This is Luna, my son's mate." Dean told the man that was standing next to the queen.

The man had really long beards and Luna hadn't seen him before.

"Luna, this is the pack doctor."

A shake of the head was a response from her.

"It's really nice to meet you Luna." The pack doctor muttered. "You can heal her now, I will leave it to you."

"Do a great job." Adrian whispered to her.
