“I think it is unsafe for her.’’ Ashford voiced out. “She is a hybrid, and you want her to stay in the packhouse filled with werewolves.”

“What's that supposed to mean? Adrian demanded. “She is my mate and is still going to live in the packhouse sooner or later.”

Ashford's brow arched. “You are delusional. “Not only do you not care about her, you also think highly of yourself.”

Adrian's fist tightened.

“Are you already thinking about a future with a mate who almost rejected you? You are really delusional.” Ashford murmured, his gaze piercing into Adrian.

He had read Adrian's mind, although he wanted to stop the mind-reading. He couldn't; it was easier for him to beat Adrian in an argument that way.

“Why wouldn't I think of a future with my mate?” Adrian questioned.

Ashford never thought that he was going to admit it. He could see that Adrian was controlling himself to not snap.
