CHAPTER 39

“I never expected him to pack this much,” Luna said as Ashford set out for a picnic in the woods.

The picnic was in a garden that she had no idea was next to the pack. However, she wondered how the garden got there.

“I created the garden,” Ashford informed her. “I didn't get to show you before, but this is the place where I come whenever my mother makes me mad.”

“You don't come here anymore?” She peered at him.

“Yes.”

“Why?”

He sat down on the mat that was on the floor, and she did the same.

“I found you, so I came to your house instead of this garden.”

Luna blushed. “So that means that you care about me more than your garden?”

“Isn't that what it sounds like?”

Her face flushed harder, and she looked away from him.

“What fruit do you have?” He asked.

“Maybe an orange.” She replied without looking at him.

He picked up an orange and began peeling it for her. She peeked at him before finally looking at him. He handed the orange to her as soon as he was done peeling it.
