CHAPTER TWO.

    Alexa woke up feeling as confused as ever. She didn't understand what the old woman meant because as far as she knew, she was powerless or as the cheerleaders at school would say completely ordinary and useless, so she didn't understand how she could be powerful. Alexa was still trying to think but was interrupted by a knock on her door.

"Alexa, come downstairs. Mom and dad wants to talk to us".Chris said from behind the door.

Alexa climbed out of her bed and went to open the door.

"What do they want to talk about?"she asked.

Chris shrugged his shoulders and said "How should I know?"

"Kay,I'll be down in a minute."

She took a quick shower and picked out a pair of jeans with a blue shirt with flats and went downstairs. Everyone was gathered at the dining room so she sat down and waited. Her dad cleared his throat and began.

"I know you're probably wondering what this meeting is about. Now it's not something serious, its just that your mother and I will be going to London for a while and...."

"Can't we go with you guys?" Alexa asked.

"I'm sorry sweetie but you can't".

Her mother replied.

"Why not!, I mean we're on vacation".

"Your mother and I will be leaving first thing tomorrow morning".

"Why so soon?"David asked.

"It came as an emergency and we have to."dad answered. "Also, jenny will be coming home today"

"Awesome, I've really missed her, oh..I can't wait to see her". Alexa said, filled with joy.

Jenny was her elder sister, the second child and Alexa loves her so much. They always did everything together. Once, they went shopping and bought matching outfits so they looked like twins, but they haven't seen each other in months cause jenny had gone to college and she only came home when they had vacations. Now she was going to see her again so she was overjoyed. She decided to throw her a welcome home party. It was just going to be a small party, just them and she would prepare Jenny's favourite, spaghetti and meatballs.

"Okay, I don't know the exact time she would be back but as long as it's today, there's not much time. Chris, I'm gonna need you to get some things for me".

Chris wanted to argue but David said to let her do what she wants so he just signed and said"ugh...I'm probably gonna regret this....but what do you need?"

Alexa squeaked happily and gave him a long list of what to buy...when she had the time to write it... he didn't know, all he knew was that he was going to be working and he wasn't happy about that .

Alexa told him to hurry and shooed him out of the house then she turned to David.

"I also need something from you"

"Sure sis, what do you need?"

"I need you to go with mom and get Jenny's cake"

"Sure. Sounds easy enough" David said as he left to go get his jacket.

"Now dad, what time are you supposed to pick up Jenny?"

"Around 3pm"

"Then we've still got a little time to prepare. Alexa said and went to the kitchen.

   Few hours later, Chris had returned with everything on the list, David and their mom had brought the cake and their dad had already left to pick up Jenny. Everything looked perfect, everything was perfect. The food was ready, the party decorations were perfect and beautiful with the blue and white streamers, Jenny's favourite colors. Alexa already changed clothes now she was putting on a silver dress that reached just above her knees and her long blonde hair was braided like that of a princess. She forced Chris to change as well. He wore dark jeans with a sky blue shirt. While David was wearing black trousers and a red shirt. Her mother wore a simple dress that stopped at her knees. Everyone tried to look nice, even Josie, she wore a red dress that Alexa had never seen her wear before, she even added a little makeup.

  Few minutes later, Jenny walked in with their dad, and a stranger.
