Sharon’s POV

Chuckling at Morris’s choice of words, I said, “Hello, Morris the strong.”

His grin was sly as he rolled his eyes subtly. “You are over exaggerating. I am not strong.”

My brow hiked and I tilted my body to gaze upon the battered and bruised men once again. “Tell that to those poor fellows.”

Pride filled his eyes but I could see his effort to remain humble. “I still stand on my word. I am not strong, but there are those weaker than me.”

Seeing that he was not going to yield, I gave up. “Whatever you say.”

“What brings you around here? I imagined you were buried beneath thousands of books in the royal library,” he said and my cheeks flushed from his words. So, he was aware of my whereabouts all along. I was starting to think he did not care.

“And I would be, if Louis had not insisted that I step outside and soak some sun,” I informed him.

Morris stroked his chin, a wondrous smile playing at the corners of his lips. “You must have really scared him for him to send you away.

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED: THE FINAL SAY.

SANDRA'S POV.As soon as Roland disappeared, I quickly drifted to sleep. I woke up hours later and didn't turn on my phone until then.Silence is a luxury when you rule with fear. It keeps the noise of the pack out of your head and lets your thoughts sharpen into blades. I was really enjoying myself ever since I became an Alpha. So this is what it takes to be an Alpha? I thought aloud.I lay back against the cold bed staring at the ceiling, counting the cracks like they were victories I'd carved into stone. When I finally reached for my phone, I saw some messages, and I thought it could be a business message from my business partners that would give me more money. I opened the message and it was from an unknown number. I don't entertain messages from unknown numbers.I quickly opened it to know what it's all about."Alpha, your father has been rushed to the hospital."I blinked once Then twice.Hospital?Without my consent? My countenance changed immediately.Rage surged so fast that

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER NINETY-NINE: THE SECRET

SHARON'S POV.As soon as Morris left the room, it was as though there was something heavy hanging on my shoulder. I felt a weight that I couldn't explain. At first, I thought it was because I had said what I was not supposed to say, but it was far from that. Ever since Roland died, I have been this way, but after the conversation I had with Morris that evening, it doubled, not just doubled, but tripled.Morning comes so quickly. It was not long before I went to bed, and it was already morning.Light creeps into the chamber in thin, pale lines, slicing through the heavy curtains and landing right on my face like an accusation. I haven't really slept. I have been on the couch after my conversation with Morris. Something strange started happening to me. Every time I close my eyes, I see Morris' face, pain, and disappointment all over his face. I saw his face when I said it---you failed me. I felt so bad that I didn't really use the right words on him.I push myself upright, slowly, one h

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER NINETY-EIGHT: HE SHOWED UP

SANDRA'S POV.I stood where I was and waited for him.Elder Kael was walking toward me, slower than ever, although that's how he walks because of old age. His cane was tapping against the stone floor like it was deliberately testing my patience. I folded my arms, jaw clenched, already decided his fate before he even reached me.If he said one wrong thing, one that rubbed my temper the wrong way, I would have him dragged to the dungeon myself. Age or no age. He finally stopped a few steps away, bowing his head slightly."Great Alpha," he said carefully. "I wish to have a conversation with you."I didn't let him finish."I didn't have that kind of time," I snapped, my voice sharp enough to cut through the corridor. "Move."His brows knit together in surprise but I was already walking past him. I didn't spare him another glance. I was done entertaining elders who thought my throne was open for discussion.Behind me, I heard him sigh, then shuffle away, mumbling to himself. I walked fast

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER NINETY-SEVEN: THE ECHO HE LEFT BEHIND.

SANDRA'S POV.I kept moaning and groaning as he didn't stop hitting so hard on me. I climaxed over and over again. He was not looking like his strength was failing him. I wanted to tap him and let him know he was driving me crazy. I held his ball so tight that he also moaned. I was taught well in this angle and knew how to handle a man down there. I squeezed his balls gently and he moaned harder while still on me. Just then, my wolf whimpered in my head. I was surprised because for a very long while I've not heard from my wolf. "This is wrong. Your mate is the only one meant to handle you this way. It's an abomination." I quickly shut her up and continued with my enjoyment.I was really having a good time after a long while. As soon as he came, he slept off and cuddled me.I woke to silence. Not the comfortable kind, not even the one that settles after satisfaction. This silence was sharp, like something precious had been stolen from me.The bed beneath me was very cold.I turned t

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER NINETY SIX: WHEN POWER MEETS ANGER

SANDRA’S POVThe silk sheets cling to my skin, warm and heavy, smelling faintly of sweat and expensive oils. My body is still humming from the closeness, from the way Eron’s hands had roamed with confidence that bordered on arrogance. I stare up at the ceiling for a long moment, watching the light dance across the carved beams, trying to slow my breathing. This bed is mine now. This palace is mine.Everything here bends to my will. And yet… something gnaws at me.Eron lies beside me, his back turned, one arm tucked beneath his head. He looks relaxed, too relaxed. As though this moment meant nothing more than a fleeting indulgence. I turn my head slightly to watch him, studying the lines of his shoulders, the faint scars along his back that speak of old battles and loyalties not easily broken.“We must get married,” I said, breaking the silence. I could have sworn I caught his eyelid twitch. He hums softly, neither agreeing nor denying it.I sit up, reaching for the silk robe draped ac

  • THE PREGNANT SHE WOLF   CHAPTER NINETY FIVE: YOU FAILED

SHARON’S POVThe night presses in around me like a living thing. The palace is quiet in the way only grief can make it. It was too quiet, too heavy, like even the walls are afraid to breathe. I stand by the tall arched window of our chambers, my reflection faint in the glass, candlelight trembling across my face. My hands rest on my stomach without thinking, fingers curling protectively as if the life inside me might hear my thoughts.Roland is dead. The words still feel unreal. I had imagined his death so many times. I had imagined it to be violent, deserved, cathartic, but not like this. Not slow. Not pathetic. Not lonely. He had been a monster, yes, but he had also been a man drowning in his own regrets. And somehow, against my will, I had seen that.I should feel relieved.Instead, I feel… hollow.I shouldn’t feel anything for him after he rejected me, so why do I feel so… sad. The door opens softly behind me. I don’t turn, because I know who it is.His presence fills the room be
