The Moonblood had returned.

The words had not been spoken, yet every wolf in Silver Moon understood them.

Three hundred wolves stood beneath the moonlight, their heads lowered as Luca sat upon his black horse.

The silver crown rested on his head.

Ancient.

Untouchable.

Recognized by blood and law.

Then the doors of the Alpha’s residence opened.

Richard stepped outside.

He stopped when he saw Luca.

For a moment, neither man spoke.

Richard had known this day might come.

He had known what Luca’s mother had been.

He had known the blood running through Luca’s veins.

But knowing something might happen was different from standing before it.

His eyes moved across the courtyard.

Three hundred wolves were kneeling.

The elders had lowered their heads.

Even the warriors who had once looked down on Luca had submitted to the authority of the crown.

Richard slowly walked down the steps.

Damian followed.

Amara came behind him.

Luca watched them approach.

His expression didn’t change.

Richard stopped before him.

“Luca.”

“Alpha Richard.”

That title struck harder than an insult.

Once, Richard had been the man Luca looked up to.

The man whose approval had mattered.

Now there was only distance between them.

Richard looked at him for a long moment.

“You came back.”

“Yes.”

Richard’s gaze remained on his face.

“You knew what would happen when you crossed those gates.”

“Yes.”

A silence followed.

Richard remembered the night Luca had left.

He remembered the humiliation.

The rejection.

The blood on Luca’s hands.

And finally, the order that had sent him into the forest.

Richard had believed he was protecting Silver Moon.

Now the same boy stood before him wearing the crown of a bloodline Richard could never command.

“You intend to stay.”

It wasn’t a question of whether Luca had the right.

Richard already knew he did.

It was a question of what Luca intended to do with that right.

Luca dismounted.

His boots touched the stone.

“I do.”

Richard’s eyes remained fixed on him.

“This is still Silver Moon.”

“Yes.”

“And I remain its Alpha.”

“Yes.”

Richard waited.

Luca looked at him.

“I am not here to take your title.”

Richard’s expression tightened slightly.

“Then what are you here for?”

Luca’s eyes moved across the courtyard.

“To take back what was taken from me.”

Richard’s face changed.

“Your place?”

“My choice.”

Luca looked directly at him.

“Three years ago, you decided I had no place here.”

He paused.

“You were wrong.”

Richard said nothing.

Luca continued.

“I left because I had no choice.”

His voice remained calm.

“I returned because I do.”

The words settled over the courtyard.

No threat.

No anger.

Just certainty.

Richard knew there was nothing left to argue.

The ancient law had already spoken.

The Moonblood had returned.

And the pack had recognized him.

Richard slowly lowered himself onto one knee.

The sound of three hundred wolves breathing seemed to disappear.

The Alpha of Silver Moon was kneeling.

Before Luca.

Before the son he had once banished.

Before the boy he had believed would never return.

Luca looked down at him.

Richard kept his head lowered.

His pride burned.

But he did not resist.

He couldn’t.

Not without challenging something older than himself.

Luca let the silence remain for several seconds.

Then he spoke.

“Rise, Alpha Richard.”

Richard lifted his head.

Their eyes met.

For the first time, Richard saw no trace of the frightened boy who had once stood before him.

There was no pleading.

No desperation.

No desire to be accepted.

Only a man who had finally stopped asking for permission to exist.

Richard stood.

Luca turned toward the pack.

“From this day forward, Silver Moon recognizes the authority of the Moonblood.”

The elders bowed deeper.

“Yes, My King.”

The words spread through the courtyard.

“My King.”

“My King.”

Luca didn’t smile.

He didn’t celebrate.

He simply turned toward the eastern residence.

The wolves parted before him.

He walked through them without looking back.

Amara remained silent.

Damian remained still.

Richard watched Luca disappear behind the doors.

The courtyard slowly began to move again.

But no one forgot what had just happened.

For years, Richard had been the highest authority in Silver Moon.

Tonight, he had knelt before the son he had banished.

And Luca had not needed to fight him.

He had not needed to threaten him.

He had not even needed to take his title.

He had simply returned as the man Richard could no longer command.

By sunrise, the story had already spread through Silver Moon.No one needed to tell the pack what had happened. They had all seen it.Alpha Richard had knelt before Luca. The same Luca he had banished three years ago.The same Luca he had once considered too weak to remain in Silver Moon. But the humiliation of the previous night was only the beginning.Luca wanted Richard to remember something. He wanted the entire pack to remember it too.So, before the morning council began, Luca walked into the central courtyard. The courtyard was already crowded.Elders stood near the council hall.Warriors gathered around the training grounds.Families watched from the edges.Richard arrived a few minutes later. His face was calm, but the whispers around him made it obvious that the previous night’s humiliation had not been forgotten.Luca stood at the center of the courtyard. He looked at Richard.“Alpha Richard.”Richard stopped.“Yes?”“Come here.”The command was simple. But everyone heard i

Three years had passed since Luca walked through the gates of Silver Moon with nothing but a broken heart and blood on his hands.Three years since the pack had watched him leave.Three years since he had believed that he would never see those walls again. But the forest remembered. The tall trees still stood around the territory, their branches moving gently beneath the evening wind. The same stone walls surrounded the pack, rising high enough to disappear into the darkness above. Torches burned along the walls, their flames flickering against the cold night.Inside the gates, the pack was settling down for the evening.Wolves moved through the courtyard.Children ran between the houses.Warriors returned from patrol.Everything looked peaceful. Then the guards heard something. At first, it was so faint that they almost ignored it.A distant sound.Thud.The older guard lifted his head.Thud.He turned toward the forest.“What is that?”The younger guard stopped beside him.“I don’t

  • THE REJECTED LUCA’S REVENGE    CHAPTER 4: THE PRICE OF POWER

Morning came before Luca was ready for it.He stepped out of the sanctuary and immediately felt the cold air against his face. The forest was covered in a thin layer of mist, and small drops of water clung to the grass beneath his feet. Somewhere high in the trees, birds were beginning to call to one another.Luca stretched his arms and looked toward the clearing.Elias was already there. He stood in the center with his arms crossed, waiting.“You’re late,” Elias said.Luca looked toward the sky.“The sun just came up.”“And?”Luca sighed.“I suppose that’s not an excuse.”Elias turned toward him.“Today, you learn discipline.”Luca walked into the clearing.“I thought we were training my power.”“We are.”Elias pointed toward a large tree.“Run to that tree.”Luca looked at it.“That’s it?”“Then run back.”Luca nodded. He took off.His feet moved faster than he expected. The tree seemed to rush toward him, and before he could slow down, he almost crashed into it.He stopped himself

  • THE REJECTED LUCA’S REVENGE    CHAPTER 3: THE TRUTH ABOUT HIS BLOOD

Luca followed Elias deeper into the forest. He did not know where they were going, and Elias had given him no reason to believe that he should trust him. Still, Luca kept walking because there was nothing behind him except the pack that had rejected him, and there was something ahead of him that might finally explain why his entire life had felt wrong. The trees grew taller as they moved.Their branches reached across the path and blocked most of the moonlight, leaving only thin silver lines on the ground. The air was colder here, and the silence was so deep that Luca could hear the soft sound of his own footsteps.Elias walked several steps ahead of him.His movements were calm.Almost too calm.Luca watched him for a while before finally speaking.“You knew.”Elias did not stop.“Knew what?”“You knew what I was before you came to me.”Elias continued walking.Luca’s jaw tightened.“You knew I was a Moonblood.”After a few seconds, Elias stopped. He turned slowly.“I suspected.”“Th
