~~~KANE~~~
A long crushing silence stretched the very moment I had recognized Meena as my mate and not Anya. The crowd exhaled. I turned to the crowd, my voice booming, “I reject the union between Anya and me. The moon goddess doesn't have to tangle me with a broken and cursed wolf. I know what's best for me.”
I turned my gaze back to Meena as I held her hand. “Shall we?”
“After you, my king.”
The crowd made way for us as I led Meena into the center of it. Meena had been the one I'd chosen from the very first day. No one, not even the moon goddess should decide what's good or bad for me. Hushed voices and murmurs, came from the members in the clearing as the event unfolded in their presence.
I adjusted the position of my hat as I started. “A pack needs a Luna with teeth, not a soft heart. I chose Meena as the one I'll bond with, and not a cursed daughter of the sick beta who killed her mother for bringing her to this world. Who knows if she's trying to do the same to her father?”
I caught a glimpse of Anya and her friend from the corner of my eye as they struggled to leave the clearing. “We aren't done yet, Anya, you'll be under my custody until I decide what I'll do with you.”
Tyran—my beta, tried to raise an objection but I silenced him with my words. “I have made my decision, and that decision is final.”
The crowd watched. Still. No one dared to defend her.
“And what do you plan on doing with her by keeping her locked up in a room?” Tyran hissed beside me, his anger radiating off as if he might burn out of it.
“She is mine now Tyran, don't you get it? I'll do whatever I like with her. All you have to do is just stay and watch me.”
“She’s the daughter of your father's beta for goddess sake. You don't have to toss her away like that and you didn't have to reject her, Kane.” He taunted, mumbling under his breath.
“I chose Meena, she's had my heart since before now, you know that. I said my decision is final.”
“Then let Anya go,” he scoffed. “Youve rejected her, what else do you need Kane?”
“To taste her Tyran. I need more. I need to taste how sweet she is. I can't let her go just like that. That's not my way.”
“Stop being a dog. She's not one of those cheap little whores Kane.” He rubbed his hand through his head. Like, he's done this not more than once—acting like I'm his child. “I wonder when you'll have control over those things between your legs, you're an Alpha and you need to start acting like one.”
Hours later, I went into my bedchamber. I've asked the guards to take Anya there. I wasn't going to let her go away like that. No. She has to be of use to me at least.
“Hello Anya,” she cowered in terror at the sight of me, frightened. “You know, the mating ritual wasn't supposed to end that way.” I continued, fixing my eyes on hers with a cold stare as I approached her like a predator who had captured its prey, “but it's all your damn fault, Anya.”
Her facial expression gave it all. Surprised.
“Its definitely your fault for not being the perfect luna I'd wished to have. It's also your fault for looking this beautiful. But mate or not, you're still mine. Anya, you'll all be mine. Mine alone.”
I moved closer to her and pulled her body towards mine. My fingers traced her left cheek down to her chest. Then I grabbed her bare breast roughly, squeezing its pointed nipple. She let out a soft gasp of pain to my satisfaction. “All this you're carrying… they'll all be mine,” I said, then let out a wide devilish grin.
I went on to grab the zip of her dress and pulled it down. Revealing only her naked body under her pants. She just stood there numb, frozen, staring at me stupidly. There's nothing she can do and that's the least she could. My eyes ravage her entire body as I drew her closer and sniffed behind her earlobes. I watched her with lust in my eyes, the moment my eyes met hers, I felt her nipples hardening under my palms.
I pulled her closer to the bed, closer to me. “Don't think I accept you as a mate. I'm just going to use you for this from now on.” I said as I used my teeth to go down on her nipple, giving it a soft bite, I couldn't help but grin at the way her body responded to my every touch. She moaned in partial pleasure and partial pain. Her eyes are so beautiful as I regard her with pleasure and interest.
I ordered her as I went down from the bed. “Don't just stay there like a statue Anya, unzip and take off my pants.”
She dropped to her knees without any option left for her than to obey, pulling down my trousers and revealing my massive cock. It wasn't hard yet, but when she put her hands on it, the goosebumps, that's when I felt it instantly.
“Take that in your mouth,” I ordered her, pulling her head backwards and grabbing hold of my cock.
She hesitated at first, doubting whether to, or not. But the moment I gave her a stern look that spoke louder than words, she kept her gaze leveled on my cock and crouched down low enough to get it in her mouth.
I let out a ragged moan the moment I felt her thin lips on me. As she rocked back and forth slowly, my cock hardened in her mouth. “Fuck. Yes. Suck off harder.” I growled, grabbing hold of her hair as I thrust into her mouth gently.
I yanked her hair off making her scream in pain but it didn't stop me from thrusting in and out more. My body trembled as I enjoyed every bit of it, my entire body went rigid instantly then I jerked carelessly to the spasms of release and finally dropped, breathing heavily. By this time she was already wet from what had just unfolded.
“Pick up that rag of a cloth of yours, and get lost,” I said in a cold tone. “I need some rest. Remember, this is not the end but just the beginning.”
  • THE REJECTED LUNA   CHAPTER 46: FINALLY, ITS FREEDOM O-CLOCK.
    ~~~~Anya~~~~The realization that I woke up without dread clouding my chest settled me before I even finally opened my eyes. The early morning was filled with silence. Just peaceful silence. I just remained under my blanket for a few extra seconds. My eyes were locked on the ceiling as morning sunlight filtered through the curtains. The room felt so warm. Safe and comfortable. And yet, it still feels strange whenever I think of this apartment as our home now. If someone had told me weeks ago that I would be living in a human city with Talia and working a normal job, just completely detached from Ridgewood, I would have laughed in their face and called them liars. Yet, here I was. Still breathing the same air humans breathe. Still alive. Still standing. I felt as Anisa stretched lazily inside my mind. ‘Finally awake?’ she stretched.‘Good morning to you too,’ I said as my smile widened. She yawned. ‘You slept like a dead wolf.’I simply rolled my eyes. Helpful observation indeed.

  • THE REJECTED LUNA   CHAPTER 45: THEY'RE ALL THE SAME.

    ~~~~Anya~~~~The rain refused to stop. As if it was compelling me to make that choice already. It crashed against the pavement in endless sheets of silver. It kept drumming against the rooftops, soaking the roads, and turning the lights on the street of the city into blurry reflections that shimmered across the entire space. For a moment longer than necessary, I simply stood beneath a shelter outside the company building. My hands were now folded tightly around my bag. My heart was really unsettled. And unfortunately for me, the reason for this restlessness was seated in that car that's only a few feet away from me.Larry Zodar.The Alpha who just kept refusing to act like one. That Alpha that kept appearing even in places he shouldn't appear. And that same Alpha who somehow managed to make me confused and suspicious at the same time. The side window remained lowered down, and the rain kept splashing against the black vehicle. Larry just sat inside, staring blankly at me as though he
  • THE REJECTED LUNA   CHAPTER 44: A CHOICE.
    ~~~~Anya~~~~The entire apartment suddenly felt too quiet. “You left Ridgewood. But that doesn't mean Ridgewood is done with you.”Talia moved closer and her expression changed. “Anya?”I just simply handed the phone to her and she read the message out loud. Once. Then twice. Then for the third time.“What the hell!?” Talia's face held no smile.I remained silent. And Talia's eyes widened. “Who even sent this?”“I sincerely have no idea,” I said, still staring into the empty space.“Does it look like it's Kane?” She raised her brow.“Maybe, but I don't know,” I said.“Or it could be Meena!?” She raised both brows.“Maybe,” I managed to say.“It must be someone from Ridgewood,” Talia said. “But I'm not sure this one is from Kane.”“Maybe,” I still repeated.Talia groaned dramatically and threw herself back into the couch. “This is exactly why I hate mysterious people for real,” she said. I couldn't help the small breath of laughter that escaped my lips. It was a very small one though

  • THE REJECTED LUNA   CHAPTER 43: WHY IS THE PAST?

    ~~~~Anya~~~~I stared at the message for a moment longer than necessary. The screen was still lit on my hand as it was illuminating the small living room of our apartment now as we got inside. The words just sat on the screen and stared back at me.It was just a message, but yet, it felt heavier than it should have. My chest tightened up again but it wasn't because I missed him, or because I wanted him, and certainly not because I regretted ever leaving Ridgewood. No! It was because it reminded me of all the things I'd spent weeks trying to bury. The rejection. The pain. The humiliations. The death of my father. That coldness Kane held in his eyes when he stood before the pack and granted my rejection. The way Meena had smiled about all of it. The way the whole Ridgewood had watched. The way my entire life became shattered just that single afternoon. All of it. The memories came rushing back like a storm and I swallowed the lump in my throat. I hated everything about it. I hated how j
  • THE REJECTED LUNA   CHAPTER 42: SOMETHING THAT FELT NECESSARY.
    ~~~~Anya~~~~I sincerely hate surprises.Especially those kind that involved powerful men that seem to know more things about my life than they should have. Which was the reason why I just stood here and was staring at Larry Zodar as if he had grown multiple heads.The entire lobby had strangely gone too quiet the very moment he stepped out of those elevators. It wasn't a complete silence though, but the quietness was enough that I noticed it. Several people greeted him with respectful nods while others just simply lowered their heads. They didn't look like they're frightened or forced, the respect just came so natural, which somehow bothered me for reasons I don't know. Was it because I had spent my entire life among wolves who obeyed because they had no choice?This one just felt too different for real. A calm smile rested on Larry's face. Talia on the other hand, looked just too dangerously excited. I made a mental note to deal with her later for sure.Larry's gaze drifted between

  • THE REJECTED LUNA   CHAPTER 41: THIS MAN IS TERRIFYINGLY DANGEROUS.

    ~~~~Anya~~~~My eyes were fixed to that spot Larry had been standing long after he had already disappeared into the crowd. There's something about this man that just unsettled me, not really in a dangerous way, not at all, and not in that way Kane unsettled me. Larry Zodar unsettled me in ways I could never figure him out.He was standing in the middle of a luxurious club, and just casually greeting people just like an ordinary business man. And then the next moment he is speaking with enough authority that even grown men straighten their back, lower their heads and straighten their back. And there again, the fact that he knows things he seemed not to have known. Things like where we live now, to the fact that Talia and I needed a job, to the fact that we have a call back interview scheduled for tomorrow. All of it didn't make sense for a bit, just… nothing about him made sense. I turned my eyes to that empty space he had just left, then slowly, I turned back to look at Talia who w
  • THE REJECTED LUNA   CHAPTER 22: DO I REALLY CARE?
    ~~~~Kane~~~~The first thing I realized about earlier today was that something was definitely going on with me. I didn't have a nightmare, no. It wasn't because of work. Not even because of the endless responsibilities ahead of me.It was because the first person that entered my mind wasn't Meena.

  • THE REJECTED LUNA   CHAPTER 20: JUST THE BEGINNING!

    ~~~~Anya~~~~ Immediately Tyran left the office, breathing alone became tough for me. The silence that came after those words from him felt so heavy and thick. Truly, someone is framing me. Someone had deliberately seized the documents for themselves and watched the blame pushed onto me. And yet, I
    ~~~~Anya~~~~ Hell nah! From the very second I walked into Ridgewood Holdings this morning, a bad feeling settled me, the atmosphere felt wrong right away. The lobby felt different. Even the air also felt thick and heavy. Even the receptionist at the entrance of the building looked so uncomfortabl

  • THE REJECTED LUNA   CHAPTER 18: VERY BIG PROBLEM

    ~~~~KANE~~~~ The stillness in my study had become more than I could endure. Silence is what I hated. Because, it left too much room for thinking. And thinking has really become a problem for me lately. I stared at the towering stacks of paperwork on the polished mahogany desk. Expansion proposals
