The nursery fell into chaos.

Warriors poured through the doorway, searching every corner of the room. Cupboards were thrown open.

Curtains were pulled aside. Every window was inspected. There was nothing.

Audra was gone.

Aria stood over the empty cradle, her hands trembling as she clutched the tiny silver ribbon left behind on the blanket.

Her daughter had been here. Only moments ago. And now. She was gone.

Nova's anguished howl echoed through her mind.

“We need to find her.” Ar

Silence lingered over the ruined capital. The wind carried dust through the shattered streets as every Alpha considered Aria’s words. Commander Varos remained bowed before her.Behind him, hundreds of Lycan soldiers and civilians waited without daring to speak. Finally, Alpha Garrick broke the silence.“My people have lost fathers, brothers and sons.” He looked toward the frightened Lycan families. “I won’t lie, many in Ironfang will hate this decision.”Aria nodded.“I understand.” Garrick sighed heavily.“But…” He looked around at the ruins surrounding them.“They’re right. There isn’t a kingdom left to rule.” He sheathed his sword. “Ironfang will take in whoever you assign to us.” A murmur spread through the gathered warriors.Cedric was the first to object. “You’ve lost your senses.” He looked at Garrick in disbelief. “You’ll invite them into your own homes?”“I’ll give innocent people somewhere to sleep. They’ve lost enough.” Cedric scoffed.“Innocent? They marched under the Lycan

The scout remained on one knee, his breathing uneven after racing from the valley below. Rowan's eyes remained fixed on him. "Did you see anyone?" "No, Alpha, not even a single guard." Kael frowned. "That is impossible. The Lycan capital has never stood unguarded, even during war." Ethan rested a hand on the hilt of his sword. "Could it be that someone wants us to believe it’s empty?” Aldren shook his head. "No, those who remained no longer have anyone to command them." Silence settled over the group. At last, Rowan made his decision. "Ethan, take a company of warriors. Escort every wounded soldier back to our camp. We cannot move with the injured ones any farther." Ethan nodded immediately. "What about you? “I'm taking a smaller group into the capital. It is more saver this way, just in case it’s a trap.” Within minutes, the wounded began their journey down the mountain while Rowan assembled those who would accompany him. Aria, Kael, Aldren and Nyssa with some elite warriors

No one moved for a long moment. The Sacred Mountain, once consumed by darkness and endless thunder, stood beneath a sky of brilliant blue. The violent winds had disappeared. The earth no longer trembled, only silence remained. Rowan slowly lowered Vaelric's body onto the ancient stone. The peaceful smile never left the former Keeper's face. Ado remained standing inside the Circle of Seven, the crystal resting quietly in her trembling hands. It no longer pulsed with darkness. Within its heart, only a faint silver light glimmered, surrounding a tiny shadow imprisoned deep inside. Nova whispered softly. “It's over.“ Aria lowered her eyes to the crystal. "It really is..." The words barely escaped her lips. A deep exhaustion suddenly swept through her body. The strength that had carried her through the battle vanished all at once. The Blade of Asteris slipped from her fingers. It struck the stone with a soft metallic sound. Aria swayed, but before she could fall, Rowan’s strong a

Aria moved closed to vaelric, then she heard a voice. “I told you we’d come back.” A shadow burst across his face. The Ancient being roared. The gold vanished. Blackness swallowed both eyes again. “You waste your compassion!” A violent wave of dark energy exploded outward. Rowan planted his sword into the stone to keep from being thrown backward. Kael slid several feet before stopping himself. The silver barrier rippled. The Ancient One stared upward in disbelief. “No, it should have broken. It cannot hold forever.”Aldren stepped into one of the glowing circles. “It doesn’t have to, it only has to hold long enough.”The Ancient One turned sharply toward him. “What do you mean?” Aldren looked at Aria. “The seal isn’t complete. It never was.” Silence settled over the summit. The old librarian pointed toward the center of the Circle. “The prison has been restored, but it remains empty.” Realization struck everyone. The Seven Flames had rebuilt the cage. But nothing had yet been

The summit erupted in silver light. The Blade of Asteris sang. A clear, resonant tone echoed across the Sacred Mountain. The darkness recoiled. The Ancient being screamed. Its cry shook the heavens. “No!” Silver light burst from the two remaining crystal pillars, racing toward the Circle of Seven. Ancient runes hidden beneath the stone awakened one after another. The shattered mountain glowed. Aria could feel it. The seal Wasn’t broken, it was waiting for something that had been missing for a thousand years. Hope surged through her. “We can restore it!” The Blade answered with another brilliant pulse. Then, the light stopped. It froze only a few feet from the center of the Circle. Aria frowned. “Why did it stop?” The silver glow trembled. Then slowly began to fade. “No…”Nova whispered. “It’s not enough.” The Ancient being’s laughter rolled across the mountain. “I told you. The prison was never yours alone.”Darkness exploded outward from Vaelric’s body. The silv

Another tremor shock the ground. The impact sent a violent shockwave across the Circle of Seven. Aria barely managed to keep her footing. The Blade of Asteris blazed in her hands. Across from her, Vaelric slowly lifted his head. Darkness coiled around him like chains forged from living shadow. His black robes whipped violently in the storm. Behind him, the pillar of darkness reached into the heavens. The sky itself seemed to crack beneath its weight. The Ancient being smiled through Vaelric’s face. “So the last Keeper has come.” Its voice echoed from every direction. Aria raised the Blade of Asteris. “I didn’t come to fight you.” The smile widened. “No?” “I came to end this.” The Ancient being laughed. A laugh so old it seemed to shake the world itself. “You speak exactly as Astra once did.” The name echoed across the summit. “She believed compassion could save the world. And look what became of her.” Aria’s expression never changed. “She succeeded.” His laughter
