CHAPTER FIVE: LONE WOLF

ANDREA'S POV

This is me Andrea Brigadier, running from my duties as the next alpha of my father's pack. I was in my wolf form so I could run faster plus the wedding dress was getting in my way most of the time. Being in my wolf form was a bit crazy since I was already in the humans' territory, so I decided to turn human. The only problem I had was where to get new clothes from cause I was going to be naked the moment I turn. I saw light coming from a small house ahead of me so I decided to run towards it. As I got there, I got caught by a boy. He looked roughly 18-19. He dragged me into the house with the chains he had around my neck and kept me locked up in a room. The house looked abandoned. I wondered why someone about my age would be living in such. He made a phone call and it went through. I could barely hear what they were talking about. It was almost as if he lined the chains with wolfsbane because I was getting weak.

Subsequently, he came into the room he had me in with some clothes in his hand and to my surprise he started speaking to me.

"Hey, I know... I know that you're not just a wolf. I know that you're a werewolf that's why I brought you here. If you go any further, you could get killed. Here, I brought you these...put them on whenever you turn" the boy said as he dropped the clothes on a bed next to me.

"And don't worry, you're secret is safe with me" he said and then he left the room. I doubted his motive. I didn't want to trust him but what other options did I have? I turned and then I wore the clothes he brought for me. They were a little too big for me then again...what choice did I have? He knocked on the door and asked if I could come in. I hesitated a little before I answered him.

"You can come in" I said nervously. He seemed shocked when he came in.

"Wow... I'm sorry for the choice of clothing I didn't know if you were a boy or a girl" the boy stuttered.

"It's okay. I'm Andrea by the way...and you?" I asked as I stretched out my hands so we could exchange pleasantries.

"Emile" the boy replied and then we shook each other's hands and smiled.

"So...why are you here?" Emile asked curiously. I didn't want to tell him who I truly was because knowing that I was a werewolf was already too much to know about me.

"Just curiosity and you?...why do you live so far away from civilization" I jeered while smiling.

"Hey, it's not that far"

"It's just weird. It looks like a safe/abandoned house" I proclaimed as I examined the house. Emile trailed behind me. The house barely had rooms. It had just a bedroom which was the one I had left not too long ago, a small kitchen and a living room. We later sat on the couch and got to know ourselves better.

"Why do you live alone?" I asked out of concern.

"I'm like a lone wolf Andrea. I do things on my own" Emile responded sternly.

"And your parents?"

"Withdrew myself from them. They are just people you don't want around" Emile replied sternly.

"What about yours?" He asked concerned.

"They umm...they died. I'm an orphan. I guess you could say I'm like a lone wolf too" I said sadly. A tear rolled down my cheek and I immediately wiped it away so that Emile wouldn't see. But he saw.

"It's alright. Maybe we were fated to find each other" Emile said as he used his thumb to wipe away my tear.

"Rules in order for you to not get caught. You must not leave this house" Emile said as he stood up from the couch. His words hit me like a bullet because I couldn't believe what he had just said.

"No no no, and who are you to decide that?" I demanded pissed at what he had just said. Things escalated quite quickly and just like that we were already in a heated argument.

"If you leave here the Barnsley's will find you one way or the other!" Emile yelled.

"Fuck the Barnsley's!" I retorted.

"Fuck the Barnsley's huh? You have no idea what they are capable of do you?"

"I don't care!"

"Andrea for God's sake I'm saving you! This is the safest place you can find yourself"

"I didn't ask for your help Emile" I retorted.

"You know what..." Emile said and then he lifted me and took me to the room where I was kept not too long ago. I struggled to break out of his grasp but I wasn't that strong. He successfully dropped me in the room and immediately, locked the door. I banged on the door heavily but he refused to answer me.

"Open the fucking door Emile!" I demanded but he ignored my call. I then started to look for escape routes but there were none. The windows had barricades and I couldn't pass through them. I tried screaming for help but it was pointless. He had no neighbours. His house was secluded. I gave up and then sat on the floor frustrated. Minutes later, I stood up and began banging on the door. I continued until I caught Emile's attention.

"I'm not gonna open the door. Eventually, you'll get tired and give up" Emile said from outside the room. I screamed and then jumped on the bed frustrated with Emile's behaviour.

Hours later, Emile opened the door and he saw me sitting on the floor leaning against the wall. I didn't even want to try to escape. I just sat there staring into thin air. I had a change of mind. Actually, Emile was right, not about the Barnsley's though but I thought about what Joshua would do if he didn't find me. There's gonna be a search party all in my name. So I thought it best to stick to Emile's idea.

"You still live with your parents Emile, there's no way someone like you would live in this shit hole" I said to him as sat beside me on the floor.

"Maybe you're wrong, maybe you're right" he replied after letting out a sigh.

"And you didn't just come here out of curiosity. You're running away from something" he continued.

"Maybe you're wrong, maybe you're right" I said and we both stared into thin air.
