CHAPTER 36: JAIL VISIT
LILY’S P.O.V
“There is someone here to see you,” a prison warden came to take me out of my cell. There was so much of noise as I passed the other cells to get to the meeting room, there was shouting, foul language, banging, etc. This was not something I was used too and I dreaded every minute spent in here but I knew that I have to get used to it because I was sentenced to life imprisonment!!!
“Eva” I got a little excited to see my sister. Taking a seat on the other side of the glass, I picked up the phone to talk to her. “Lily, what have you done?” she asked, pain clear in her voice. “Nothing Eva, I am here only for your crime” I explained. “I know Lily but why did you have to take the blame for me? XANDER’S P.O.V “Hi, Antonio” I called the detective that I hired before leaving my office and going home to Cara. “Good afternoon Mr. La’Vardo” he greeted. “I received a gift yesterday from someone anonymous. It was some photographs which were taken during an incident that happened two years ago, I need to analyze it for any fingerprints which do not belong to my brother or me,” I ordered him. “Okay, that won’t be a problem Mr.La’Vardo. I’ll get that done for you. As we speak I am running a test to trace the calls from Lily’s phone, however, it would take me a while due to the intricacy of the equipment. I would call you back with the results either later tonight or tomorrow morning,” he finally gave me some good news. “Thank you, Antonio. I will be waiting for your call,” I hung up. …… “Cara?” I called out when I entered the mansion. XANDER’S P.O.V Half a bottle of my whiskey cradled me to sleep as I tilted my head back on the chair that I was sitting on. The fire crackled and the sound of the rain was like a lullaby as I was drawn into the darkness and away from the pain. …… My hand was wrapped tightly around the gun which I held. The man that I shot coughed out blood as he groaned in pain, his hand pressed hard on the hole that my bullet has made on his chest, he fought for his life as he tried not to bleed to death but his bright blue eyes grew duller and duller by the second, eventually closing. He was no longer struggling, he was no longer fighting for his life, he was no longer moving as he looked peacefully asleep...passing on his suffering to me. Suddenly those bright blue eyes opened again, he began to struggle and groan in pain…he tossed and turned fighting to survive once again. I sat next to him, my heart heavy with guilt but I didn’t know what to do or how to help him.

CARA’S P.O.V I blinked a few times in the darkness as I regained consciousness. It wasn’t long before my eyes adjusted to the dim light offered by the full moon which I could see from the barred window. ‘Well at least I am still alive I thought to myself gratefully. I tried to move but my hands and feet were tied, I tried to scream but my mouth was gagged. I knew that I had to do something; I can’t just sit here in the darkness and wait for her to come. Who knows what she would do? All I knew is that she is dangerous and unstable; I could see the madness in her eyes, she was devoured by it, therefore she is capable of the unthinkable. Currently, I am a sitting duck; she can come in here at any time and torture me or even worse…take my life. Unless…Unless she is going to use me to lure Xander into her hands!
