CHAPTER 41: THE TRUTH
XANDER’S P.O.V
“Hi, Antonio” I called the detective that I hired before leaving my office and going home to Cara. “Good afternoon Mr. La’Vardo” he greeted. “I received a gift yesterday from someone anonymous. It was some photographs which were taken during an incident that happened two years ago, I need to analyze it for any fingerprints which do not belong to my brother or me,” I ordered him. “Okay, that won’t be a problem Mr.La’Vardo. I’ll get that done for you. As we speak I am running a test to trace the calls from Lily’s phone, however, it would take me a while due to the intricacy of the equipment. I would call you back with the results either later tonight or tomorrow morning,” he finally gave me some good news. “Thank you, Antonio. I will be waiting for your call,” I hung up.

I sat next to him, my heart heavy with guilt but I didn’t know what to do or how to help him.

(THREE WEEKS LATER) CARA’S P.O.V It felt as if there is a tornado in my tummy as I listened to the silence, suddenly a sweet melody filled my ears and I knew that it was my queue to go. The pure, innocent, fresh, and soft white roses that decorated the aisles on either side of me, matched the pureness, innocence, and softness of my dress. From white to gold, it hugged onto my body on top, showing off my petite figure as it flowed freely from my hips going down, spreading like the foam from the ocean onto the floor as each dazzling layer danced around me with every step that I took. I know her well enough to know the way she works and she plays these games with you. She would make you think that everything is okay and then when you least expect it, she makes the strike, knocking you down!
