Mile’s POV

Grayham took me to the balcony and the first thing I noticed was that the iron bars weren’t painted blue like other neighboring balconies I could spot from where we stood.

I turned to him. “Why aren’t your bars painted?”

He came closer. “Yeah that’s why I needed to come and check up the place and since you call the shots now, you can appoint some guys from the company to come and work on it. I think they forgot it.”

I caught a jar of paint standing at a corner. There was a big brown brush slapped on it. I turned to Grayham. “Is that paint?”

“Yeah.” He replied almost immediately. “I think the workers left it here. Perhaps you can just send the boys here by Monday to work on the iron bars since the tools are ready.”

I sighed and immediately took off my jacket. Grayham arched his brows.

“What are you doing?”

I finally took off the jacket and threw it at him. He caught it then I proceeded to roll up my sleeves.

“I’m going to paint the iron bars,” I said and walked toward the ja

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    A NEW RIVAL IN TOWN

Grayham’s POVI couldn’t stop staring at the message that had just flashed on my phone screen. It wasn’t even a long message. It was just a phrase that left me hooked and caused me to smile like an idiot.I have just finished cleaning the café, arranged all snacks in the show glass, tied my apron, and was ready for the day.Miles had just texted me. ‘Thanks for yesterday’ the message read. I smiled again and finally dropped the phone on the counter.Should I text him back? Maybe tell him he was welcome or perhaps offer to take him to the summer house or any of my properties anytime he wanted.Don’t I owe him an appreciation? He painted my balcony bars.I grabbed the phone and was about to commend Miles when the door was pushed open. Two strange faces dressed in Brioni suits walked in. Now, I know a branded suit when I see one and to be honest, no one in this neighborhood could afford such material. It was either these men who had just barged in were passerby who had stopped by the caf

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    SUMMER HOUSE

Mile’s POVI stared at my phone screen intensely and then lowered the device to my chest after heaving a sigh.Should I make the call or not? I couldn’t help but wonder. It’s a slow day here at the office. Fridays are always like that and the Wilson industries have a policy that Fridays are considered half days so we close work much earlier.Today’s date was etched on my mind because it’s a memorable day. Every September 28th, locals in my neighborhood commemorate the fest. Our community fest is far from the flashy event people are used to. Over there, we set out a day, look our best, and meet on the open fields. While others set up food canteens, others sell cheap clothes, shoes, jewelry, and some other stuff. It’s like a local trade fair and on days like this, my father and I never open the café for business because everyone spends the day at the fair.I had a deep conviction that Grayham was probably bored to death. If Max hadn’t gone back to school, he would have dragged him to th

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    I HAVE MY EYES ON YOU

Mile’s POVI don’t think Grayham and I are going to discuss anything further, especially with what has just happened. I don’t know where he disappeared to but the warmth that had enveloped us was gone and the cold walls were now surrounding me.I think it’s best I leave then maybe speak to him on the phone later and when we’re done mapping out the places that need renovation, the work can begin or better still, I can have him send his designs so I can forward them to his construction team.I don’t think I can trust myself around him any longer.I made my way to the café and noticed that the customers standing there were gone. I marched out and was about to head toward the parked vehicle in front of the café when I caught Gregory approaching me.My insides turned and I breathed out a sigh, feeling very upset. Then it dawned on me that I was carrying Grayham’s body so I didn’t have to bother about him coming after me but with the way he was marching forward, I think he was headed toward

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    AWAKENING DESIRES

Mile’s POVThe Bentley pulled up in front of the café and I wasn’t surprised by the number of people lurking around. While a few men were standing in front of the café together with Grayham, other locals were peeping from their windows.I heaved several deep breaths and finally stepped out of the car. I wasn’t surprised because this was how things went on here. Anytime, a posh vehicle pulls up around the neighborhood, we all come out to see who wheels it.I started walking toward the door with my head held high. This is something Grayham would do. When he first showed up here, he didn’t care about the sneers or glares, he just went straight to business and even though I need to be myself, I might as well keep a straight face because the people here had no idea of what was buzzing lately.I finally got to the door and it appeared that Grayham was waiting for me. He cleared his throat loudly and turned to the others. “Mr. Wilson and I will go around the house and mark the places to be r

  • THE SWITCH: 100 DAYS OF ME AND YOU    WORKING TOGETHER

Grayham’s PovThe alarm clock struck 6 am and I immediately opened my eyes. Shirley clutched her blanket tightly and then turned to the other side with her eyes shut.I stood up, walked to the table, and turned off the alarm clock. Before going to bed last night, I had informed Shirley to sleep on it. I told her that I was going to carry on with the morning chores which explains why she didn’t flinch when the alarm rang.I folded my blanket, dumped it on the couch, and then headed to the bathroom. I cleaned up and then marched straight to the café downstairs.A knock came on the door shortly after I reached the café and turned on the lights. I stole a glance at my wristwatch and went to the door.“You guys are on time!” I said and ushered them into the café.Three young men walked in. One was about my age, the other was barely twenty and the youngest should be around 18. I pointed at the first booth on my right.“Have a seat, gentlemen.”“So this is where she is hiding?” The oldest st
