Chapter 004- Love affairs

Welbeck was also a bit of a playboy and loved to party. So, when he decided he wanted to go to a nightclub that evening, he knew exactly who to call his assistant, Christine.

Christine was with her daughter and Robert but she had been working for Welbeck for over four years and knew him very well. She had often accompanied him to events and nightclubs before, so his request wasn't entirely surprising to her. However, what did shock her was the timing. Welbeck had called her at nearly 10 PM.

"Hey Christine, I know it's late, but I want to go to a nightclub

tonight. Can you arrange it for me?" Welbeck asked in his casual, carefree tone.

Christine hesitated for a moment before responding. She knew her husband wouldn't be too pleased if he found out she went out with Welbeck again. But, she also knew that Welbeck could be quite persuasive and she didn't want to disappoint him.

"Sure, I can arrange it. Which club do you want to go to?" Christine asked.

Welbeck gave her the name of the club, and Christine quickly got to work. She made a few phone calls and arranged for a table for Welbeck and his friends. She even made sure the drinks and food were taken care of.

"Thanks, Christine. You're the best," Welbeck said before hanging up.

Christine sat at her desk, feeling conflicted. She knew what she was doing wasn't right – going out with a married man – but she also felt trapped. Welbeck had power over her, and she didn't want to lose her job. She had bills to pay and a family to support. So, she put her feelings aside and focused on her work.

A few hours later, Welbeck arrived at the club with his friends. Christine had chosen an exclusive section of the club, and they were the center of attention. Welbeck was enjoying himself, laughing and drinking with his friends. Christine stood in the background, watching him.

As the night went on, Welbeck became more flirtatious with Christine. He put his arm around her waist and whispered in her ear. Christine felt her heart racing, but she knew she had to resist his advances. She was married, and she loved her husband and her family.

"Come on, Christine. Just one dance," Welbeck said, pulling her onto the dance floor.

Christine tried to resist, but Welbeck was a good dancer, and she got lost in the music. Soon, they were dancing closely, and Christine couldn't help but feel the chemistry between them. But, just as quickly as it started, Welbeck pulled away.

"Thanks, Christine. That was fun," he said, returning to his friends.

Christine felt a pang of sadness as she watched him walk away. She knew that she had to be stronger and end this situation before it went any further. She also knew that she had to tell her husband the truth, even if it meant losing her job.

The next day, Christine called Welbeck and resigned from her position. She told him that she couldn't continue working for him, knowing that what they were doing was wrong. She also told him she was sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Welbeck was disappointed but understood Christine's position. He also respected her for being honest with him and wished her all the best in her future endeavors.

As for Christine, she went home that day feeling lighter and more at peace. She knew that she had made the right decision and that her family and her integrity were more important than a job or a nightclub. She was ready to face whatever the future had in store for her.

She was thinking Welbeck would dislike her but he understood what she said and told her how they could schedule their time to meet.

        Christine pov

As the alarm buzzes loudly, I drag myself out of bed yet again. Although there's a long day of work ahead, there's still another important task to handle. As my husband steps into the kitchen, his grumbling stomach reminds me of the morning ritual we follow. I throw open the fridge door, and the beeps of the microwave add to the commotion. The sound fills my ears, never stopping, always buzzing.

The kitchen feels chaotic as I move around in a rush, getting the needed ingredients and preparing his breakfast. I glance at my watch - span moving at a seemingly breakneck speed. My hair is still wet when I race to get dressed and apply makeup. As I glance at myself in the mirror, my hair looks electric and disheveled. As I snatch a final slice of toast and head out the door, my breaths are coming in long and slow.

Despite the chaos, the morning feels productive and energizing. It's a madcap rush that pumps adrenaline into my veins. Though it's just another day of the same routine, our morning ritual creates harmony within the chaos.

Christine knew she was running late. She quickly showered, got dressed, and got to Welbeck's house.

She headed for the kitchen to make breakfast.

As she prepared the bacon and eggs, she heard a knock at the door. She checked the clock and saw that it was still early, and she wondered who could be coming by so soon.

She opened the door to find her boss standing there, dressed in a surprisingly casual outfit.

"Good morning, Christine," he said with a smile. "I'm sorry to pop by so early, but I thought we could have breakfast together and discuss some work matters."

Christine blushed with embarrassment. She had completely forgotten about the breakfast date she arranged with her boss. She must have gotten distracted by work or her personal affairs.

"Of course, sir," Christine replied, trying not to stutter or seem flustered. "Please, come in. Breakfast is almost ready."

She led him to the dining table and served him a plate full of bacon and eggs. She couldn't help noticing how handsome he looked, even in casual clothes.

They chatted while eating, discussing some projects that were currently underway. Christine spoke about the challenges she faced and how she hoped to overcome them.

Her boss listened intently, looking at her with admiration. He knew that she was a valuable asset to the company, and he appreciated her hard work.

As they finished breakfast, Christine collected the dishes and headed for the kitchen. She thought they would continue the discussion, but her boss followed her to the kitchen.

"Christine, I have to confess something," he said with a serious tone.

Christine turned around, confused. She didn't know what he wanted to confess.

"I know we agreed to this breakfast meeting to discuss work, but I also wanted to get to know you better. I've always admired your intelligence and your work ethic, and I think you're a beautiful person inside and out."

Christine felt her heart racing. This wasn't what she expected, but she was thrilled and flattered.

"I would like to ask you out on a date," he continued. "I know it's not professional, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to spend some time with you outside of work."

Christine felt a mixture of emotions. She was excited, but she also knew that accepting a date with her boss could be complicated. She didn't want to risk her job or her reputation.

"Sir, you have been very kind and supportive of me, and I appreciate the offer. But I'm afraid I can't go on a date with you," she said with a hesitant voice. "I value our professional relationship, and I don't want to jeopardize it."

Her boss nodded, looking a little disappointed but respectful of her decision. He knew she was right. "I completely understand, Christine," he said with a nod. "I don't want to make you feel uncomfortable or compromise your integrity. I appreciate your honesty."

Christine breathed a sigh of relief. She was glad she did the right thing, even if it meant missing out on a potential romance. She was happy to continue working with her boss on a professional level, knowing that he valued her for her skills and not just her looks.

"Well, if you say so".

Welbeck said and told her to get ready because she would get to work with her.

Christine agreed and sat comfortably on the divan after placing everything in its order.
