The Vision Of Prophecy

Chapter One

Diana's pov:

A loud voice filled the atmosphere. One minute, I was in a shop and the next, I'm in a room with the Lycan King and another man. It was like a trance, a projection but the problem was that I was in their midst but they couldn't see or feel me.

"What? A mere wolf? To take my throne?" The Lycan King bellowed, his voice filled with anger and a bit of mockery.

I couldn't move or speak no matter how much I tried to.

"Y—yes... Sire." The priest responded, shaking visibly out of fear.

"Tell me something Cedric. Start afresh. I want to know how the moon goddess has gone wild." He said while he walked into the throne room, Cedric just right behind him.

“Sire it's a bit complicated, the moon goddess is angry with us… with our ways and wants to punish us.”

The lycan king sat on his golden throne on the dias and glanced at the high priest.

“I'm not in the mood for any of your nonsense talk Cedric.” King William was beginning to feel irked, I could tell from his constant clicking of his finger against the arms off his throne.

The high priest began to shake his head frantically in protest, “Sire, this from the moon goddess herself, we should take it seriously." Although Cedric was visibly shaking, he needed to pass across an information which must have been very important.

"Now is not the time for this high priest, my wife has just gone into labor and they have been in there for hours, there's also news about some recent disturbances coming from the wolves in the towns so excuse me if I don't really care what the moon goddess has to say except if she can solve my issue!” The lycan king blew up.

The high priest was lost in thought for a few seconds, “Your majesty, just listen to me for a few seconds, that's all, it entails the survival of our kind,” he tried to plead. “The moon goddess has given a prophecy.”

The lycan king scrunched up his face in confusion, “What prophecy? Is it going to help with my child that is being born, or with those imposters that call themselves wolves? Honestly if it were that I would gladly give you a listening ear.”

The lycan king was really not in a good mood as the guards had warned the high priest beforehand. But then, Cedric began reading the scroll in his hand:

“BENEATH THE MOON'S VEILED GAZE, THE LYCAN DEFY THE ANCIENT RITES AND LAWS. THEY HAVE CAUSED CHAOS TO MY CREATION, SHATTERING THE BALANCE. THEIR REIGN WILL CRUMBLE AND IN ITS PLACE WILL RISE THE TRUE WOLF BLOODS, DESCENDANTS OF THE MOON GODDESS HERSELF, AND OF HER OWN IMAGE SHALL THEY BE, A MIGHTIER FORCE IN THE VEINS OF SILVER. A CHANCE TO REDEEM YOURSELF SHALL BE GIVEN, BUT IF LOST, YOUR ENTIRE REIGN SHALL COME TO AN END, ALONG WITH YOUR KIND."

As Cedric recited the prophecy, goosebumps flooded his entire body as the hairs on his back stood. His hands were visibly shaking and his mouth quivered with fear. “We might have angered the moon goddess with our ways and now she will punish us for it.”

He continued outrightly cutting the king off even though he knew he was courting death. “A group of women perhaps, maybe men, I didn't see that part clearly. I also couldn't figure out what our second chance would be. I've had this for a while and it has burdened me ever since, I thought I could receive more from her but I felt it was getting late and I needed to bring it to your attention,” Cedric blurted out in one breath, he glanced up to access the king's reaction to see if he had gotten through to him.

I tried moving once again, but it felt like two invisible barriers held me in place, why was this happening though?

The lycan king stood up from his throne, “Cedric, your disrespect aside for a while, you really think a bunch of lowlife weak she-wolves are capable of bringing an empire that has existed for generations? Then you must be just as delusional as the moon goddess is.” The king bursted out laughing before he became serious.

"Blasphemy, your grace!"

"Blasphemy?" The King asked, amused by the sudden outburst of the high priest.

“You need to heed to this warning your majesty. You cannot just let this go by because you are too proud to face square to square with a bunch of she-wolves!” Cedric exploded like a bomb, forgetting for a minute that he was in the presence of the king, or maybe he was just afraid of the moon goddesses threat than the king in front of him.

I was even surprised that he could raise his voice at the king, even in my state, I was scared for Cedric.

“I've tolerated your nonsense long enough, and so have my fathers but I guess you've taken it a bit too far, I suggest you leave. Now!” The lycan king said before he began to walk away.

“This isn't about me, your grace. It's about the Lycan population that you are about to let go extinct." Cedric didn't care anymore.

A wet nurse bursted in through the side doors, her breathing ragged, her dress stained with blood. “Your majesty, the child has arrived,” she announced. “It's a prince, your highness.”

The Lycan king exclaimed, “Finally! Some good news." But before he could celebrate his victory, he heard from the high priest once again, “That's it! That must be it, there must be some kind of connection, or maybe he caused everything, I am telling you what I saw, what I felt.”

A guard buried in as well and informed the king on the occurrence and the going on of the packs which didn't add to his mood.

“Your Majesty, all these; the prophecy from the moon goddess, the child, the disturbances from the various packs, they cannot be a coincidence, if you would just listen to what I have to say.”

While the king walked towards the wet nurse, Cedric followed behind him.

“Your Majesty, the ministers would like to see you as well,” The guard from earlier also informed again. “They said it's quite urgent, but still on the matters of the local packs."

Cedric continued, “Your majesty don't you see, if we want to save our species, we need to…"

A resounding crack shocked both the wet nurse, the guard and me as well as Cedric fell to the floor in a heap, his head rolling off as his sentence was cut off. “I never really liked him anyway,” the lycan king muttered before he addressed the guard who had just entered, “Dispose of his body."

I couldn't stop staring at the headless body that laid limp on the polished floor.

”You…” He turned to the wet nurse, “Lead me to my child.” None of them dared to speak as they carried out their assigned task.

Suddenly, I heard my name from a distance and then, a blinding white light brought me back to reality. I swallowed my dried, aching throat as beads of sweat ran down my face. My heart pounded vigorously.

What happened? My eyes darted around as they landed on my palms which had turned white out of fear and my claws outstretched in defense. A dream or a vision of the past?

But one thing I do know is, what I had just witnessed birthed my story; THE ORIGIN OF SILVER BLOODS. .
