Chapter 12

“Mom, you did this on purpose.” Dan accused her in fury. It has been a habit of Dan to launch a hug on his mom as soon as he sets eyes on her after a long business trip.

She had planned it; she knew he was getting back that day, so she insisted that Belinda and her have the dinner at home instead. She also made Belinda open the door to take the hug.

“Come on, how was I supposed to know you were not the one at the door?” she smirked. Dan gave her a brief glare. They both talked like Belinda wasn’t still at the door, frozen, and processing the whole hug thing.

“Calm down, go to your room, and freshen up.” Celia suggested. Dan picked up his bag, huffed, and walked out of the living room.

“Oh, and make sure to come down for dinner when you are done,” she added. Then Dan slammed the door as a protest.

Belinda stared at Celia.

“Ignore him.” Celia chuckled and waved the issue off with a smile. She went on and requested that Belinda take a seat to process it.
