CHAPTER 15: DYLAN IS DRUNK

It’s been a week since the parents’ visit. Since then, Dylan has been showing up at home early. I can hear the gentle sound of his footsteps as he approaches.

He speaks to me with kindness now, and we have grown closer, almost like a couple. But he also playfully teases me more than before, making me laugh. His kisses are passionate and filled with urgency, as if there’s no tomorrow.

Life feels good in these moments. However, amidst this happiness, I can’t help but feel guilty for Julian. I will have to explain everything to Julian when I find her again. I hope she can find it in her heart to forgive me. The weight of my actions burdens me, as I reflect on my failure to be a good friend.

“Squirrel, squirrel, my little squirrel. Where are you?” Dylan’s voice echoed through the house as he entered, his tone carrying a hint of excitement.

“I’m here, Dylan, and stop calling me that.” I replied from the kitchen, the sound of pots and pans clinking as I prepared dinner for us.
