Chapter 10: where have you been all my life?

“No nothing.” I said while covering my mouth. Dylan on the other hand sighed and started the car engine.

It had been 30 long minutes into the car ride, and Dylan’s silence hung heavy in the air, making the atmosphere unbearably awkward.

Desperate to break the tension, I mustered up the courage to speak. “Um, your watch is pretty, where did you get it?” I stammered, my voice barely audible over the sound of the engine. I hoped my go-to conversation starter would work its magic, just like it did at those dull business parties.

But instead, all Dylan could manage was a confused expression and a simple sentence or should i say word that was “huh?!”

That’s all, My heart sank. No I got the watch from xxx place, you know what else places I had traveled, anything to keep the conversation going. But it seemed like this trick only worked on women.
