ZYRA.

Throughout the weekend was amazing, Riri, a name I came up with last minute, really did her thing and planned our weekend. We went hiking, which was so stressful but fun. We tried different restaurants and new meals, some that we both hated and some we loved and will try again, we dressed up just to take pictures at certain places and head back home, we did a car washing competition at home which I won considering my car was smaller, we went to the zoo for no reason we just didn’t have anything to do that day, and finally, we went shopping.

Riri helped me pick out the best outfits for work, from the two pieces cooperate sets we’d gotten from LV to the sexy, but modest suits, to the heels and bags from my favorite brand YSL? Everything was perfect. This was the first time shopping for things I didn’t want but needed and it was worth all the money spent. She was hell bent on making sure I looked good throughout the period of time I was going to work with Lane Empire.

“Ready for tomorrow?” Riri asked as we got into her car about to head out. We realized that we had one more thing to do that wasn’t done during the weekend, eat at Deans.

“Was born ready.” We laughed and hit the road. I’d never been worried or nervous about meeting any of the people I had worked with in the past, in fact, I was the one who made them worried, I came at my own time, never dressed professionally to any of the meetings and they abided by my rules and my terms, but now, especially with all the things Riri said and the way she wanted me to be my best, I was starting to put my thoughts together that this wasn’t the regular and I had to change the protocol. It’s a bit annoying but I’m hoping it’ll be worth it.

ARDYN.

I had anticipated and waited all weekend, and it was finally going to be Wednesday tomorrow. I wouldn’t say I was excited, but I was some sort of emotion. I wanted to see her, the lady who never showed her face but was the best at her work, the lady who worked for herself and not money, the lady who was ‘a rude ugly bitch’? It was going to be very interesting.

Zay was very impressed when I told him that I was going to work with her, so to celebrate me finally working with a woman, he scheduled a dinner reservation for us at a restaurant called Deans. He mentioned that they had a few tasty dishes and the place was organized, just how I liked it, so here I was putting on my coat and heading outside to meet him where he was waiting in the Ferrari, we were going to Deans.

We finally got to Deans and well, it was just how he described it; they had good customer care, and they were actually very organized. They had sections for bigger sets of people from five upwards and smaller sets from four downwards. Zay and I were issued to the smaller sets; we were just two. We placed our orders and took our seats. While waiting, we noticed a blonde and brunette opposite us, they were having the best time, making jokes and laughing. I recognized the blonde and once again I couldn’t see the brunettes face because she wasn’t facing me. I wouldn’t say this was a coincidence, but it was surprising, always a blonde and brunette.

“What do you think about these girls opposite us, Especially the blonde?” Zay asked after he had looked at them for the fifth time.

“And the brunette?” I found myself asking. I didn’t know why I was, but I just found myself wanting to know who she was. I wasn’t one to chase women or anyone in general, but I could see myself doing something a little close but far away from chasing, if I could just see her face.

“Don’t know bro, blondes are kind of my thing.” He said, laughing.

“Fuck off.” I laughed. Our food had arrived. Zay had been pumped up about the food, so I had to see what the fuss was actually about.

“This is actually really good.” I took a spoonful into my mouth.

“Told you.” Zay loved being right about something, and I hate to admit it, but he was right about this one. We ate in silence before he decided to say the funniest thing I’ve heard in a while.

“You know, if you keep up like this, from working with this woman, you could actually start liking women more and start dating one in the future and boom, we start having dates together.” I don’t think I’d ever laughed like this before.

“And what makes you think I would ever have something to do with someone I worked with?”

“Well, I didn’t say her though, but she might be your type who knows.” And this time we both started laughing.

“And what is my type?” I had to ask because where was he getting all these ideas from.

“Maybe that brunette you’ve been glancing at for some time now.” And for the first time, Zay had managed to be right about two things in one sitting.

“I haven’t even seen her face yet and you’re already making assumptions?” I said, laughing. She was someone I’d usually go for in terms of just sex but, she can’t be faceless, can she?

“For the fact that you’ve been staring, and you haven’t denied it yet, I just have to win this one.” He laughed.

       “Fuck off.”

ARDYN. I was anxious, nervous, shy, almost tense even. It was finally happening and I can say it was long overdue. I replayed everything in my head. From the first day she walked out on me, to the first day I heard her name, to the day I finally saw her at Deans, to the day she came to work and challenged me, to finding her stress ball and sending it back to her office saying it was a toy to spite her. Forcing her to be my plus one, her finally putting me in my place after putting up with my bullshit for a full week, her calling me Cariño for the first time, us going at it every time she came into my office, me calling her Princess to spite her but it now being the best name ever. Me being captivated by her for the first time after she refused to follow the rules I had given her for the art event. Her not giving Ward any form of acknowledgement, and I can say it's worth it now. Helping her for the first time by sending the man away. Becoming jealous seeing the way o

ZAYLEN. It's been two whole weeks. Two weeks of waiting to see what trick Ward will pull. Two weeks still attending meetings with him while pretending like we knew nothing. Two weeks of Ardyn trying so hard not to blow our cover by punching him in the face. I wanted to punch him, too. Asides all this, I had better things to keep me occupied than finding more devastating news about our insane business partner. Things like being with Gold for up to twelve hours a day. Using the remaining twelve hours to reminisce about the previous twelve hours I'd just spent with her, and if any hours remained after that, I'd use it to prepare myself for the next twelve hours I'd spend with her. Speaking of the love of my life, I happen to recall that I'm not the love of her life as that space has been occupied by the woman I used to get the love of my life, who just happens to be every one's favorite. Zyra. Gold could lay her life for that woman and as such, since I do no

RYNNELLE. "Girl what the fuck!" Zee looked like a mess coming home this morning. It was fucking past ten. "Where were you? I called more than fifty times? What happened to your hair?" This girl was just smiling from ear to ear. "Speak bitch. I would've filled out a missing person's report if Zay didn't say he heard noises coming from your office and Lane wasn't in his." You could see the blush on her cheeks. "Girl!" I was dying of suspense. And she wasn't making this any easier. I definitely wanted to know what went on in that office for her hair to be this messed up. "Ree!" The excitement. "We finally made love bitch!" It erupted. We held hands, screamed, and just kept jumping around. Finally. I thought it was never going to happen. And the fact Zee hadn't slept with anyone for almost a year. I would say her hair being messed up shows that it was worth it. "Girl! I need all the details." What in the world. We were both finally having great sex. The world is worth

  • TILL DEATH DO US PART.   CHAPTER EIGHTY- SIX.

ZYRA. What a slightly horrible day at work this was. I came to work today in high and clear spirits, only to be met with the love of my life trying to speak Spanish to me to possibly rage bait me. I was indeed ragebaited. Eric didn't even know how to speak Spanish so where was all this fucked up conclusions coming from? I just sighed and spun my chair again for the twentieth time since I came back to my office. I didn't like this floor one bit. I could see him in his office and everything he does, and everyone that walked in. It was annoying. Especially on days like this. I wish I could just... wait. I got up, walked to the door, and shut it. I just realized I can do whatever I want. To keep myself busy, I went down memory lane as I laid back in my chair and shut my eyes. "Abuela, mira. Una mariposa. Es hermoso (Grandma, look. A butterfly. It's beautiful.)" I spun around dancing while letting the breeze touch my face. "Igual que tú, mi hermosa chica

ARDYN. It's been four days and Princess and I haven't squashed our differences. Asides from speaking to her everyday while still being upset, I've learnt a few Spanish terms. One ¿Cómo estás? Which means "How are you". Two ¿Cómo estuvo tu noche? Which means "How was your night?". And finally, three Realmente no respondiste a mi pregunta sobre si habla español o no. Which means "You didn't really answer my question on whether he speaks Spanish or not." I was doing good for a first timer. I saw Princess come in today and as usual, she looked beautiful. I loved her hairstyle and I'm sure Gold had a hand in it. It suited her. I was still pissed so I returned to work instead of looking at her from my camera. Since Princess's mom came to NYC, I've been doing some research on the file that was dropped on my desk a few months ago. Gold had pulled me aside and asked about me knowing Princess's mom's name and I had to tell a lie that Princess mentioned it once. I thought she wou

RYNNELLE. "He has serious jealousy issues and it's fucked. It's been how many days now and he's still speaking to me like I was the one that called Eric here in the first place." I shook my head as I watched Zee pace around the room on the phone with her mom. For starters, I think Zee was a bit mean or slightly rude to us all three days ago. She couldn't understand what we meant by she had to calm down. It was always the same thing every time. If I was the man watching from a distance how my plan was coming into place, I would never stop haunting her. I'd level up my game even and that's what he was doing. First, it was Lyle, then Mike, and now Eric. He was moving slowly but covered a vastly greater distance than what anyone could ever sit and put together. He was using these men as distractions to make Zee lose her guard and she fell for it every time. It was disappointing. Especially knowing that she has overcome him so many times so why the weakness now? Sec

ZYRA.It’s a very crazy thing to believe a man could love you like you love yourself, or even more. That was why the thought of being by myself for the rest of my life didn’t sound like a bad idea after all. The thought of a man feeling like “You are nothing without me?” makes my stomach turn. The

ZYRA.We went to the museum. It was so beautiful, but the ‘pieces’ weren’t really mesmerizing. I felt a little bit uncomfortable considering my outfit and why so many people were here today, but I realized that Rynnelle had a lot more to worry about than me, so I was okay.
