ZYRA.It’s a very crazy thing to believe a man could love you like you love yourself, or even more. That was why the thought of being by myself for the rest of my life didn’t sound like a bad idea after all. The thought of a man feeling like “You are nothing without me?” makes my stomach turn. The thought of me having to depend on one disappoints me deeply, especially because I know better. My Dad was already a disappointment to my mum and me, and adding another disappointment like him would be the biggest way I could possibly disappoint her.About two years ago; the memory still lingers; my ex-boyfriend sitting in front of me in a coffee shop as he was trying so hard to make up new lies to tell me. He was one disappointment and hearing him talk without remorse was a feeling I couldn’t quite explain; it was something more than anger, hatred and I’ve only ever felt that towards one person in my life. Not that I didn’t expect it; it was just so disrespectful as it had actually happened.

ZYRA.After leaving the hall, I didn’t feel like going home so I drove to a bar nearby, to treat myself. I mean, it wasn’t easy being in a meeting for approximately two hours without saying anything. While waiting for the bartender I noticed a blonde on my right, she looked so familiar and it clicked, she was the blonde from the meeting. She was actually very pretty up close. Come to think of it, I wasn’t the only one that left the meeting.“Having a bad day, I see.” The bartender asked handing me my drink. He wasn’t bad but no, no, no, I’d encountered enough disappointments for the day.“None of your business boy.” I said finishing my drink at once and leaving. ZYRA.We went to the museum. It was so beautiful, but the ‘pieces’ weren’t really mesmerizing. I felt a little bit uncomfortable considering my outfit and why so many people were here today, but I realized that Rynnelle had a lot more to worry about than me, so I was okay. We also found out that an auction for an exclusive art event was coming up; I guess that explains the people.“This piece for a hundred and fifty thousand dollars is insane.” Rynnelle blurted out almost laughing her ass off while looking at the price tag. ZYRA. Throughout the weekend was amazing, Riri, a name I came up with last minute, really did her thing and planned our weekend. We went hiking, which was so stressful but fun. We tried different restaurants and new meals, some that we both hated and some we loved and will try again, we dressed up just to take pictures at certain places and head back home, we did a car washing competition at home which I won considering my car was smaller, we went to the zoo for no reason we just didn’t have anything to do that day, and finally, we went shopping. Riri helped me pick out the best outfits for work, from the two pieces cooperate sets we’d gotten from LV to the sexy, but modest suits, to the heels and bags from my favorite brand YSL? Everything was perfect. This was the first time shopping for things I didn’t want but needed and it was worth all the money spent. ZYRA.I looked at myself while standing in front of the mirror, it was 5am. I was a mess and my hair was one thing I didn’t want it to be at the moment, curly. Riri had woken me up to get me ready and I wasn’t having it. I wanted to sleep some more but, I told myself I actually needed to get ready especially with the state of this hair. I went downstairs to see Riri, and I found her making some morning tea. She looked at me like she had seen a ghost. I was indeed a mess.
