BROKEN

In the very next day morning around 10.00, in some luxurious meeting room, more than 20 girls are waiting, wearing highly professional dresses which are surely branded. Suddenly the room door opened revealing the girl in her middle 20’s who is wearing a white button-down top and black skirt reached her lower thigh and she entered into the room clutching her file tightly to her chest. Her dress is professional but every other girl who saw her knew that it is cheap and they started to laugh when they noticed that girl’s round specs and her not so good looking messy bun in her golden-brown hair. That girl looked around and breathed out in relief for some reason. Before she go and sit on one of the chairs, the room door again opened revealing another girl.  

          Everyone now looked at another girl including the girl who came inside now. She is dressed professionally but her looks and attitude are enough to tell that she is not here for the interview. That girl came inside and looked at everyone and noticed the girl wearing specs and she looked at her with shock. She is also confused. To confuse more, the girl who is wearing specs is also looking at that girl with the same shock and it’s clear that she is afraid. The girl who just came inside is no other than Cara, and the girl she is looking confusedly at is no other than Devlin said as his mate.  

           Yes, everyone in the room is here for the interview and Cara is the one who is going to take the interview. When the interview is going on here, in the next room, there is almost a war going on between two men. And they are none other between Devlin and Connor and the war is only going on there because Devlin wants to see his mate immediately but Connor is stopping him saying that it will only go wrong. Devlin didn’t go to the mansion yesterday, he is waiting only in the office to see his mate but Connor is not allowing him. He knew what Connor is saying is correct but he can’t control himself. Connor is almost trying everything to stop him but when he felt that Devlin will remove the security power he made in the room door, he just injected Devlin high dose of an anesthesia drug. 

            “I know Alpha, I’m your beta and I need to obey your comments but I did it as a friend, not as a Beta. Just wait for a few minutes, your mate will be near you” Connor after assuring to the sleeping figure of Devlin on the floor and went outside the room locking it carefully.  

            Connor straightly went to the interview hall and everyone stood up seeing him. Cara also stood up as she has to respect her husband as CEO in front of everyone. When Connor looked at the girl wearing specs, he also became confused as his wife. He went and sat on the CEO chair and Cara continued her interview. Both the husband and wife know that no one is eligible to work under Devlin. So, Cara didn’t select anyone. The next girl who Cara is going to take interview is none other than Devlin’s mate. She came and sat in front of Cara and Connor shaking in fear. Cara started to ask her questions even when she is confused. And the answers that came from Devlin’s mate surely satisfied both Connor and Cara. When she completed her interview, both Cara and Connor looked at each other and said something to her and she started to shiver in more fear.  

          “I think we have something to talk about more than the job, Ms. Lucy” This is what Cara said to Lucy who is none other than Devlin’s mate. 

          And then it was officially announced that Lucy is the one who is selected as the assistant manager of the finance department and all the other girls left the company. When Connor confirmed that everyone is out, he sat on the chair with a thud, tired from the battle he did with Devlin.  

          “What happened, Baby? Why are you tired and how did you come here managing him?” Cara asked Connor touching his face loving making Lucy confused who is already in the verge of crying.

           “Don’t ask me that. He almost killed me and I injected him anesthesia to stop him from coming here!” Connor exhaled making Cara’s eyes go wide.

  

           “Why do you do that Connor? He will kill you when he got up. And why that boy is not even taking any of our advice? Can’t he wait for a few more minutes?” Both Connor and Cara are chit-chatting not noticing the girl who is confused as well as shimmering in fear.  

           Cara stopped talking to Connor and went near Lucy who is looking at Cara and Connor almost with teary icy blue eyes. But, before Cara say anything to Lucy the door bursts open revealing the raging Devlin. Connor immediately stood up from the chair and ran to Lucy and hide behind her because she can only stop her mate. Cara laughed seeing how his husband used Lucy as a shield for the mistake he did. Lucy who was first confused seeing both Cara and Connor didn’t notice Devlin on the doorstep but the second she noticed him her heart stopped for a second and when she saw Devlin on the doorstep, she knew that she messed-up. She just froze in her place seeing him. This is the exact reaction of Devlin also. Cara dragged Connor outside the room leaving both the mates alone thinking that they can also solve the confusion afterward.  

          The second when Cara and Connor went outside, Devlin ran to his mate and hugged her tightly as if his life belongs on her. He was waiting for her to hug him back but she didn’t. He hugged her more tightly wanting her to hug him back but still, she didn’t but Devlin felt that she is shaking. So, he broke the hug and looked at her only to see the tears in her mate’s eyes. His heart broke at the scene but he made himself strong and wiped her tears and joined his forehead with hers.  

         “Don’t you want your mate, baby girl?” He spoke through the pain not knowing what he will do if his mate rejected him.  

         “I can’t give you what you want. Please find some other mate. I hate werewolves” Lucy spoke controlling herself.  

          Even when it broke Devlin’s heart, he smirked as he can see what his mate wants. 

         “You hate werewolves, when you, yourself is a werewolf? You said that I want to find another mate, right? But why do I feel like you just want to jump on me and kiss me the life out of me, baby girl?” He whispered in a low deep voice which is making it hard for Lucy to control her wolf who just wants to do what her mate just said to her. Yes, she is not human as they thought, but she is a werewolf who hates werewolves. When she is her own thoughts she heard something from her mate which made her go weak in front of him.  

            “You don’t have any idea how much I have waited to have you in my arms baby girl and now I have no idea to leave you even if you want. You’re mine, I’m yours and we are bound by the moon” He said and went outside determined to make her his.
