Getting outside of the car, both Devlin and Lucy started to shoot the werewolves. Lucy killed two wolves by shooting them straight on the foreheads and at that time, Devlin killed another three wolves by shooting them straight inside their mouth when they growled. They both stood near each other and the werewolves stood opposite them. Devlin and Lucy looked at each other and they saw that there are more than 15 werewolves in total. They also noticed that all the werewolves are pitch black with a height of 5 feet and all are having silver-grey eyes. They both become confused seeing this and this is also the first time that Lucy is seeing the werewolves who were behind her since her childhood. It’s already late in the evening when both Lucy and Devlin came out of McDonald's. They spent almost their day only sitting inside McDonald's eating food. Devlin is a fast eater but Lucy is a very slow eater. From the way she chewed a small piece of chicken at the first, Devlin confirmed that his mate didn’t want to leave the place. He guessed she don’t want to go to his mansion because she was not eating that slowly when they were in the mansion. When they both came to the parking lot they saw that the place is completely clean and another black Bugatti is waiting for them. “I’ll drive now”. Devlin said and get inside the car in the driving seat making Lucy confused. Nevertheless, she got in the passenger seat. “Where are we going?” She finally opened her mouth and asked him. “To somewhere you’ll feel at peace” He simply replied and started to drive the car. Devlin and Lucy both returned to the mansion when the night fell. Lucy went to his room to freshen up with the thought that the main door of the mansion is closed and her mate is safe, but she failed to notice the werewolves hiding inside the mansion. When Devlin came outside the kitchen with two plates of cheese pasta in his hands, he saw his mate drawing something on the big whiteboard. He didn’t know when she took that board from the study room to the living hall. As the board is on the other side, he couldn’t see what she is drawing. So, he placed the plates on the tea table and went near her to see what she is drawing. But, when he saw what she is drawing, he is shocked because he couldn’t understand anything. “What are you scribbling, Lucy?” He asked earning a glare from her. “I’m not scribbling. I’m making a root map” She said and he kept mum knowing that her aura is different now. Sometimes, he feels like she is the Alpha and she is trying to save him when he is trying his 100% to find who is behind her. But, he knew that in this story, only he can’t work to save their relationship but both of them need to. And he also knew that Lucy is only doing everything because she doesn’t want to lose him.
