Chapter 2

When she woke up after a few hours, she wondered how she suddenly fell asleep. Oh I was thinking about Alex, anyways, let me forget about all this, just because I might meet Alex in the same University i will be enrolled in,or maybe he already graduated and is now working, she shrugged, it doesn't matter. He never took me seriously and even if I meet him now, he will probably have someone he loves, fortune thought to herself and decided to forget about all these fantasies that would never come true. She has to be with a person who she will start a new beginning with and give her assurance not with a person who never even dared to say he liked her. Oh fortune! you are such a fool to even day dream about such impossible things, fortune scolded herself and felt like hitting  her head to the wall cause of her stupidity, she even thought that they would be together, foolish girl.

It so happened that alot of people congratulated Mr and Mrs Williams on their daughter's good results most of who were family members. They held a small party to celebrate their daughter's success. Mrs Shaw who was Mr Williams sister never for one second wanted to attend the party, she had no choice but to put up a fake smile and show up. Her husband literally dragged her here saying that she must not behave nefarious even to her own brother's daughter. Seeing that some relatives approached her one after another to ask about her own daughter's school performance, Mrs Shaw felt like she was a joke, she wanted to disappear from this place. Anyways it's fine, I will make sure to find a well educated and rich suitor for my daughter and see what these pathetic people will say.

The time fortune had to relax soon elapsed and she would be entering the university. She was a little nervous but excited at the same time. Being an anti social person, she wondered if she could make a number of friends or she would feel like a lonely and abandoned child. No, she shook her head, I will have friends this is not something I should worry about. Suddenly a face flashed through her mind, Alex, will I get to see him,oh forget it, I'm not going to the university for Alex I'm going to acquire knowledge and gain skills, he probably graduated long time ago. Being an African young lady, it wasn't easy to reach the stage that she got to. growing up in city A which was a small and simple city, she still wanted to be outstanding.

She believed that it didn't matter where someone came from, anyone could achieve what they wanted as long as they remain focused and work hard. The next morning, fortune, accompanied by her parents and sister got into the car and drove fortune to school. It was a school located kilometers away from her home and because of that, she had to live in the hostels opposite the university. When they arrived, she bid her farewells to her parents and sister then entered the school to have her name registered and fill in other required forms. The moment she turned to go out, she suddenly saw a familiar face, OMG could it be her! it was Asia, her high school old friend. " Asia" fortune called out to her and the girl looked over. Her eyes immediately beamed brightly with excitement, she couldn't believe that she met fortune here. 

"Fortune" Asia said and walked up to Fortune's side. It's been years since I saw you, and as usual u look beautiful, even more beautiful than I remember you to be. Fortune smiled " you look more beautiful as well".Asia gave her a white look and responded "oh come on fortune, how dare I compare myself to a beauty like you". Fortune laughed and asked her"are you here  to fill in the other required forms?" 

"oh I just did that a few minutes ago but the lady at the administration told me to go directly to the principles office so I can give him a copy of my results, the organization of the school is a little incompetent by loosing some student files" . Fortune got a little surprised they are incompetent indeed. "Have you found a hostel yet?" Fortune suddenly asked"oh no, not yet,we can be roommate's if it's fine with you".

Fortune sighed and felt relieved, just before she came here, she thought it would be difficult for her to make any friends but here she was, meeting an old friend who she hadn't seen for a while. "oh Asia since you have to go to the principles office, let me walk you there then we can deal with our hostel issue" Asia smiled brightly and responded" yeah sure". The two girls walked straight to the principles office but just before Asia could knock, the door opened from the inside  and a girl stepped out of the office. Fortune who was looking elsewhere subconsciously looked over upon hearing the door open. Seeing the person who stepped out clearly, she was completely stunned that she couldn't utter a word. It was Camilla, what was she doing here,she vividly  recalls the scene of Mrs Shaw scolding her daughter because of her bad results which, were not good enough to get her enrolled in any university not to talk of a college.
