Chapter 8

Fortune arrived safely and knocked on her apartment door. after a few seconds the door was opened and Asia's sparkling eyes stared at her. "fortune tell me, how did it go? come on spit it out and tell me" Asia exclaimed. Fortune walked in "can you please give me a break, I just arrived". "ok fine,fine I'm waiting" Asia said with a hint of impatience in her voice. Fortune had to freshen up first and took her time  on purpose just to make her friend feel irritated. As soon as she was done, she was preparing herself to leave her room when her door was suddenly pushed open. Asia walked in with an aggrieved expression on her face. "fortune will you please stop this and tell me, I know you are doing it on purpose but please, please just tell me now" Asia said in a pleading tone like a child begging for candy. fortune smiled and sat beside her friend she narrated everything that happened in detail. "fortune don't tell me you are hesitant because of that guy who probably isn't thinking about you, his probably with someone else and you are here restraining yourself from being with someone".  "Asia listen, you don't have to worry I'm not so familiar with Brandon and I don't want to rush things with him. Me and Alex have no future, and honestly, I never got to have a close conversation with him in person and neither did I get to know his character well so don't worry" fortune said lazily. "you better think about it quickly and give him an answer, fortune if you  want to take things slow then tell him,it's no harm accepting him and telling him you want things to be taken slow, I'm sure he will understand" It's like Asia knew  Fortune's thought and immediately pointed it out.

                                                                        "alright Asia, I will sleep over it, thank you" fortune found Asia's explanation plausible and decided to give it a try and know how to go about it. Early the next day, fortune heard someone calling her name and the voice got more disturbing by each second. she slowly opened her eyes and heard Asia's urgent call"fortune what's the matter with with you?are you sick? it's almost half past seven and you aren't ready for class yet". what! past seven! fortune jumped out of bed oh my, so late. she ran  to the bathroom and quickly freshened up. soon  fortune was done and she went for class with Asia. Despite being a little late, the lesson hadn't started. Few minutes later, the lecturer walked in and the first lesson was in process. The lessons went on as usual although today's lessons seemed bland . Finally the day came to an end with their last class. Fortune and Asia walked out and headed in the direction of their small home, not far from their apartment, there was a car parked at the side and a guy lazily leaned against the car, taking a closer look at who it was, Brandon smiled"hey fortune" he looked at Asia and said hello to her as well. "Brandon what are you doing here?" fortune asked a little surprised. " I came to see you since I couldn't see you anywhere around the school". Brandon responded and continued to speak "can I take you girls out to a place where we can eat and have some drinks?". "I don't drink sorry" fortune responded. " oh it's fine if you can't drink, we can simply have some food. " Asia looked at fortune and responded to Brandon" just give us some time to freshen up and prepare, we won't take long. Brandon looked at his time and said" it's only three so I will be here at exactly five". fortune nodded and smiled at him,she watched him drive out and sighed.                                                       He sure is persistent and won't give up. " fortune even if you don't drink, it's fine why must you act rigidly?". " alright Asia don't give me a lecture please I'm going and please wake me up at 4:30, I want to have a nap for now". " ok alright, I will do that" Asia responded. Fortune took a short nap and Asia woke her up on time. The two girls prepared themselves both dressed up casually but with a hint of playfulness and sexiness. They sat down and started to have school discussions in order to let time pass. Time flew slowly and they heard a knock at the door. Asia stood up and went to check, sure enough it was Brandon. "I'm sorry for being a little late" fortune looked at her time and it was only 5:10, he was only ten minutes late which wasn't a big deal." don't worry about it, shall we go?" fortune asked " oh yes we can leave now" Brandon responded. Three figures walked out of the apartment and headed straight to where the car was parked. Brandon quickly opened the passengers door for fortune while Asia sat in the back seat. He then went round to the other side got in, started the car and drove out as soon as they were all settled he drove straight to a bistro. The moment they walked in, fortune bumped into her annoying cousin again. " oh little cousin what are you doing here?"Camilla asked as she glanced at Asia and Brandon who stood beside fortune. "I came here for the same reason that you came here for, to eat and enjoy some live music, is anything wrong with that?" fortune asked. Camilla glanced at Brandon again then looked at this stinky fortune in front of her. could it be that this is Fortune's boyfriend or maybe they are just friends. "alright then enjoy yourself" Camilla said this and walked out.
