Chapter 9

Brandon was taken aback by the way they addressed each other."cousin" so they are cousins. "Brandon, Brandon" fortune called out to him several times before he snapped out of his immersed thoughts "Brandon what's wrong with you?" fortune asked with a confused expression. "oh no I was just thinking about something, come on let's go in" Brandon snappily said this and led the way in. They sat, ordered their food and started to enjoy their meal. Afterwards fortune and Asia had a dessert while Brandon ordered for a drink. Although Asia felt like a light bulb being around Brandon and fortune, she casually had her dessert, after all, she was invited by them in the first place. Brandon had a few more drinks before they left, despite this, he was still in his right state of mind. fortune looked at Brandon and had to accept that his alcohol tolerance was really good. When they arrived, Asia quickly got out of the car, thanked Brandon for the meal and excused herself leaving the two in the car. "actually Brandon, I thought about everything and I decided that I would give you a chance but I don't want us to rush, we must give each other time" fortune said this, feeling a little abashed and looked down. Brandon looked at the girl in front of him and smiled he understood what she meant "if that's what you want,I will respect your decision,you can take your time and I will wait until you are ready so you don't have to worry" Brandon said. Although he felt punished because he thought he would have her soon, he would have to wait longer and he was willing to wait,he really did like her. He got out of the car and opened the door for her to come out.  Fortune stepped out and was immediately pulled into his arms. She was wrapped around his arms and was stunned, she didn't expect this. " thank you for giving me the chance to be with you" Brandon said at this time in a low voice. Fortune blushed, the hug lasted for almost 30seconds before Brandon let go of her. "let me walk you up to the door" Brandon walked hand in hand with her, said goodnight and left with a smile. Fortune was still a little shocked. She went in and found that Asia had already gone to her room. Anyways, it was late and she might be tired, fortune went to her room as well, she felt exhausted and needed some rest. Early the next day, fortune was awakened by the nice aroma that came from the kitchen. she freshened up and was about to leave her room when her phone suddenly rang, it was Brandon. "good morning" fortune answered and immediately greeted him. " morning how are you?". "I'm fine and how are you?". " I'm fine, dinner this evening,is it fine with you?" Brandon asked. " I'm good to go, what time exactly?" fortune responded. " I will be there at 6 as usual so be ready before then". fortune chuckled and replied " I won't disappoint". she hung up and went straight to the kitchen, looking around,Asia had prepared all sorts of dishes. "Asia are you receiving a guest?" Asia exhaled deeply and said " fortune I'm sorry I didn't inform you earlier, my cousin is coming over for breakfast and said he has a surprise for me so I had to make extra dishes, I hope you don't mind?" Fortune smiled at her friend and said "don't worry about it you know I wouldn't have a problem with it".          

As fortune helped Asia prepare the other dishes, the doorbell rang. "fortune please get the door I'm sure my cousin is here, let me quickly save up the dishes". Fortune went and opened the door, what came to sight was not a gentleman but two gentlemen. Before fortune could say a word, Zack who was Asia's cousin spoke "hello, are you Asia's friend? is this Asia's apartment?" Zack asked cause he didn't expect to see someone else open the door. Fortune smiled and responded " please come in, you have come to the right place, Asia is in the kitchen and will be out in a moment". Zack and Chris walked in and sat on the couch. At this moment, Asia walked out of the kitchen and Chris suddenly stood up. Asia looked at Chris and was so shocked that she felt as though she had been struck by lightning. She stared at the man in front with her eyes wide openly and the plates in her hands fell making a shattering sound. Fortune was startled upon seeing this scene,what happened to her friend,what was wrong. "y-you w-what are y-you doing here?" Asia stammered. "well my darling baby cousin, since you have seen each other, I brought Chris here as a surprise for you" Zack spoke out indifferently. "Asia please just listen to me for once" Chris spoke as he accosted her. "stop!! Asia  screamed  and inadvertently walked up to him, she forgot about the glass pieces on the floor and stepped on the glass fragments barefoot. she suddenly hissed in pain and fortune who was stunned was about to take a step when she saw Chris rush over, he knelt on one knee to pick up Asia." let me go,let me go you bastard" Asia screamed.
