Scarlett

I was speechless at that moment. Daniel has never used such words on me. Before, I couldn't even say anything as he pushed me aside and then fell on our plus-size bed. I looked at him still trying to understand what had just happened.

“Bitch!" the word kept repeating in my head.

No that couldn't have been Daniel. Maybe it's the alcohol, I tried to reason, but even when he was drunk, he would be so romantic towards me. Something just wasn't right.

I removed his shoes and then grabbed my phone to head downstairs. There I found his phone and PC lying on the couch. Maybe Mrs. Kael had placed them there since Daniel just seemed too tired to carry anything.

“Ms. Brown, would you like something?" our maid asked.

“No, I'm OK. Did someone bring Daniel home?" I asked because the way he looked just seemed too impossible to get here by himself.

"No, a young man brought him to the door,” the maid replied.

A young man?

I tried to ask hoping she would give me a description, but couldn't remember anything. I took a seat on the sofa. Trying to understand what had happened.

Daniel had returned home with a hangover after not spending the night at home. I thought he had been working all this time. Not to mention how he just addressed me.

My heart started pounding fast, and I just didn't know why a part of me felt like something wasn't right. I took Daniel's phone and PC heading upstairs when a message popped up on his screen.

‘You were amazing I can't wait to see you again’

My eyes froze. No, maybe I wasn't reading that right, so I tried to reread it, and it was exactly what I read at first. On the sender's name was just a love emoji with a ring next to it.

‘❤️💍’

My eyes widened and I just couldn't believe what I was seeing. I thought I was the one whom Daniel had saved like that in his phone.

What the hell was going on?

I entered our bedroom and looked at Daniel who was deep asleep. My mind had all kinds of thoughts, and no matter how I tried to make excuses just to make myself feel better, the fact that I didn't send that text made me want to dig more.

I tried to unlock Daniel's phone but the password was just saying ‘WRONG’

I tried several times until I reached the 30-second waiting trial. I tried my fingerprint and nothing changed.

That said it all and I didn't even have to force things anymore. Daniel changed his password and removed my fingerprint from his phone. What could he be hiding?

“Ms. Brown, your food is ready," the maid knocked at the door and I told her to put it away.

Another message came in on Daniel's phone, and I read it.

‘Don’t be late Daddy”

I didn't know whether to believe what I was reading or assume I was overreacting. How could another woman call Daniel daddy?

Time was going so I went to take a shower and then came back to get dressed. I was now busy fixing my hair when I noticed something on Daniel's collar in the mirror.

It had a lipstick stain. I quickly turned around and moved to take a closer look only to realize that he also had love bites all over his neck.

I took a deep breath and then went to finish what I was doing before heading downstairs. I had so many questions in my head. I just couldn't believe what I had just seen.

I went back inside and found that Daniel was awake.

“Hey have…have you seen my phone?” he asked, looking for it on the table.

“Nowhere did you leave it?" I responded acting as if it wasn't with me.

“I…I don't know maybe I—”

He removed his blazer only to realize that his shirt was worn inside out.

“Daniel, where have you been?" I asked with a serious look.

“Babe, come on now. You know the answer to that. I've been working where else—"

"Where did you get the love bites from work and why is your shirt like that?” I asked.

“I don't know what you're talking about Scarlett. I've been working OK. I know you have my phone, please give it back. I've business to handle," he said before I pointed to where the phone was.

He quickly rushed to get the phone and looked at the messages that were still displayed on his screen before removing them with a nervous look.

I could tell that my worst fear was about to be a reality. I knew Daniel too well, and making assumptions would just take my peace, so I made my way downstairs expecting him to come apologize after freshening up, but what he did shocked me instead.

I was in the living room going through the guest list when I heard Daniel descending the stairs. I was thinking he was coming to apologize until he passed me like I was invisible.

“Daniel, where are you going?" I was shocked that he couldn't even see me.

“To work. I've some unfinished business at the office. I'll see you later," he said and walked away before I could say a thing.

“Is everything OK?” the maid asked, probably noticing how weird that was.

It wasn't like Daniel to go without kissing me. Not just that, but waking up and just deciding to go to the office as if nothing had happened earlier.

Something was wrong, and I had to go find out for myself, so I entered my phone and checked his location. I could see that he was still driving but not to the company. This road headed somewhere else.

I made my way to my car and started to drive to where Daniel was. I got to the location and just before I could get out of the car, I saw the Jeep first, then a flash of red hair— Rhea's. Daniel's hand was gripping her waist like it belonged there.
