Back at the hospital, Sakiko filled Sasuke in on all that had transpired and they could both deduce that someone was out to get her.
"Sasuke, about that text you got earlier," she started, her eyes now on his face, watching to catch any slight change in expression but she didn't get any. Nevertheless, she continued. "Does it have anything to do with this?"
His eyes remained fixed on hers, unmoving, not giving away any hint. After some seconds, he closed his eyes and when he opened them again, he stared down at her, his expression, now less cold and now filled with warmth.
"Nothing for you to worry about, love. It isn't." he lied and he knew from the questioning gaze she gave him, that she could tell he wasn't telling her the whole truth.
"Hmm, are you sure?"
As soon as he opened his mouth to reply to her, the door pushed open. Itachi was standing right in the middle and Itsumi popped her head from underneath her brother's arm.
