SELENA’S POV:

THAT SAME EVENING:

“You know it’s weird to just watch naked people. We will be ready for all your questions downstairs. So….Get out.” Sandra snapped and pushed me out of the room.

So I walked downstairs almost falling, because my eyes were blurred with tears and I could feel physical pain in my chest.

How could they do this to me? Was this how bad betrayal felt?

After a few minutes, they walked down stairs hurting me even more as they shared a kiss and walked hand in hand, wearing one of the cute brown matching pajamas I had gotten for David and I. David wore the pants and Sandra had on the shirt which stopped mid thigh.

“How long has this been going on?” I coughed out with my voice extremely low as they took a seat, Sandra placing her legs on David’s thigh.

“For a while now. Even before I introduced you two, we’ve been having a whole lot of amazing sex everywhere. We might or might not have had sex in your matrimonial bed while you were mourning your annoying grandma.” Sandra responded proudly, and David continued rubbing her feet, staring at me with a stupid smirk on his face.

“You two are kidding right? This is a bad joke? You wouldn’t do this to me, you two wouldn’t hurt me like this.” My voice cracked and I looked into David’s eyes literally pleading.

“A few months ago in this beautiful, romantic house, we conceived a beautiful baby which is now growing in my lady’s belly. There are no jokes here, love.” David finally spoke, crushing me further as he rubbed her belly and Sandra grinned looking at me.

“IN MY FATHER’S HOUSE?” I found myself yelling and David stood up laughing boisterously.

“Selena, you must have forgotten I own this, and everything else you think you own! Remember you signed everything to me because you loved me so much, I own it all, your father’s company, your parents home. EVERYTHING BELONGS ME!” He used his pointing finger to push me back, disrespectfully and Sandra giggled.

“Lord, this is so hilarious. We often joke about how you keep telling me everything is perfect in your marriage while he tells me how he’s not only disgusted by you, but how much pleasure he derives from letting you know who’s boss and putting you in your place every time you think you have an opinion. I’m just so happy the cat is out of the bag, I was honestly so sick of you.” Sandra laughed, picking up her phone.

David chuckled, adding, “I feel the exact same way!” Going to bring something, a paper that I didn't notice in one of the chairs. He gave it to me and I saw it was a divorce paper and I looked at it for a minute  before  looking at them.

“After everything I’ve done for you two, this is how you repay me?” I wiped my tears and inhaled sharply.

“I have only shown you two nothing but love! I centered my entire life around you two and gave you everything I had.” I sobbed and heard Sandra mumble with her eyes still glued to her phone , ‘You bet you did.’

They didn’t even care about how much they were hurting me, I was so confused on what I could have possibly done for them to treat me this way and hurt me. Rage and betrayal fueled me, so I pushed past David and latched onto Sandra pulling her by the hair.

“You were like a sister to me! I trusted you with everything and gave you everything!” I screamed with the pain in my soul and Sandra screamed in pain while David grabbed me roughly, pulling me away from her not before I ripped out a part of her.

Was that an extension or her real hair? But her loud wail let me know otherwise.

I couldn’t even process everything because the next thing I knew, I was met with a familiar hit on my cheek and he was now dragging me out of the house by my hair which was in a ponytail, through the cold tiled floor and when we got out he didn’t stop despite my pleadings, he dragged me through the concrete ground until I was out of the gated compound. And with that he held one of my hands roughly and signed my own signature on the divorce paper I had flung away when I attacked Sandra. I know I was pathetic, I had taught him my own signature. I was blinded by my love for him.

“DAVID!!” I shouted, feeling burns all around my body as he turned around to head back inside waving the divorce papers in the air.

“Don’t even think of coming to wherever I am, to the house because I WILL call the police and you will be jailed for trespassing. Nothing anywhere belongs to you, they are all mine including this coat on you.” He yelled and returned just to take off my coat, ignoring how hard I was biting his leg.

“Stupid thing!” He winced kicking me like a dog after roughly taking the coat off of me

“You are never going to be anything or amount to anything, how does it feel knowing your grandma was right about me all along?” He laughed and my jaw was hurting from his affliction and my crying.

“You know what? I’m certain in a matter of days, you are going to die and I can’t wait to get called to identify your body and play the widower. Goodbye, Selena. Thanks for the wealth and making my greatest wish of putting a rich girl in her place come to light. See what the gutter feels like!” He shut the gate and I wailed.

“David….David…” I cried lowly, trying my best to rise up and speak loudly but I was drained…too mentally and physically drained, so I fell asleep like a street dog in front of the gates near the beach. Before I had dozed off, David’s words hunted me.

If I couldn't go back to the house, where could I go? Would I continue sleeping on the road here, begging the two people who had betrayed me for food, shelter and clothing? What am I going to do?

However, I couldn’t tell how long I had been on the floor in my short dress when I heard my phone ringing loudly but it had jolted me up and interrupted the unexplainable dream I had.

Wasn’t my phone in my coat? Thankfully he didn't take my phone  away.

I sat up seeing my phone on the floor next to me and a number I hadn’t seen in a longtime. I hastily picked it up and cleared my throat but before I could speak, he interrupted.

“Happy 21st birthday beautiful Selena! Sorry it had taken me so long to call you in a while, I do have a surprise for you!” Our family lawyer spoke cheerfully and it was then I recalled, it was really my birthday and I had been so preoccupied with the two who betrayed to even recall.

This call however changed my predicament and it could be thanks to the three people— my mum, dad and grandma, I had seen in my dream, waving at me.

3RD POV:The darkness inside swallowed him up, and he pressed himself against the wall, trying to adjust his eyes. His heart was pounding so hard he could feel it in his teeth. Just then he saw Joey locked the rear exit where he was just coming from. “Why couldn’t you just love me back?” Joey’s voice cracked like something was breaking inside him. His grip on Selena tightened as he pulled her toward a far corner of the room. “We were supposed to run away together! Just you and me! You ruined everything!”Selena twisted in his grip, her eyes blazing through her tears. “You did this, Joey! You!” she spat out, voice shaking. “This isn’t love, it’s obsession! It’s sick! You keep calling it love, but it’s not. I don’t even know who you are anymore! Please, just let me go. If not for me, then at least do it for my daughter. Please, Joey, I’m begging you.”Henry was angry as he overheard their conversation, clenching and unclenching his jawOutside, officers took positions, guns raised, wait

3RD POV:Henry stood there, staring at nothing, feeling that terrible weight fall back onto his chest like a mountain. His breathing became shallow, his throat tightening. Then suddenly, all that emotion he’d been holding in came bursting out. He slammed his fist into one of the metal shelves with a loud crash, rattling the old frame and sending dust flying into the air.“Damn it!” he yelled, his voice echoing into the cold space.Cameron walked up quietly behind him, not saying anything at first. Then he rested a steady hand on Henry’s shoulder, firm but gentle.“We still have one more,” he said softly, his voice the only bit of calm in the chaos. “The third one. We’re not done yet.”A thick lump rose in Henry’s throat, tightening every word as he spoke through clenched teeth. “This better be it. I swear, this better be the one.”The helicopter lifted off again, slicing through the darkening sky. Henry sat forward, tense, staring out the window while the wind howled around them. He g

3RD POV:THAT EVENING:The operation had finally been set in motion, and Henry was flying across locations in the family helicopter, determined to be present at every site the officers were searching. His heart thudded with each passing minute, hope clinging to him like a thread too thin to hold all the weight he was carrying. All he wanted, no, all he needed, was to find Selena. To bring her home.He hadn’t been able to sleep since the day she went missing. Every night, he would sit by the window in their bedroom, staring at the empty space where she used to lie, trying to breathe through the silence that screamed louder than anything he had ever known. That was when he picked up his journal and began writing, not just to her, but for her. As though his words could somehow reach her wherever she was.“This past week has felt like an entire year. I keep opening the door to our room, hoping maybe you’ll be sitting on the bed, smiling at me. But it’s always empty. The air feels heavy wi

Henry just knew it would make Selena smile knowing how much people, strangers, cared for her.“How are you?” Mrs Scott asked lowly, as she stood behind Henry, who was at the balcony taking in the air and trying his best to think. He was

SELENA’S POV:“You killed your father?” I asked lowly, as if scared of his response."Do you know what it feels like," he whispered, voice trembling now, "to see kids like you laughing? Playing? While I sat in the shadows? Waiting for someone to notice me?”I was silent, my heart hammering, my mind racing for a way out. Every part of me was trembling but I couldn’t show fear. Not yet. Not when he was this unstable.“Of course, I wiped that man from the face of the earth. He caused me so much pain. He is one of the reasons I didn’t even get a chance with you back then.” He confessed making my heart sink all the way down to my stomach.“But thankfully, you always remained in my heart and I researched on you, got the job at your company and knew I would get you. Despite your marriage to that punk. He’s nothing.” I stared at him, too stunned to speak and it felt like everywhere was spinning as I was still trying to process it all."And now?" He chuckled, the sound dry and hollow. “Now yo

  • Take My Husband, Let Me Marry Yours   The Devil You Forgot

SELENA’S POV:THAT SAME DAY:I slowly opened my eyes and was hit with darkness. It was thick and suffocating, like a curtain was drawn over my senses. My head throbbed with an ache coming along, and my entire body felt heavy, as if weighed down by visible chains.I blinked repeatedly as it dawned on me what had happened, how I pictured things and hoped last night wouldn't go as planned. I was not in the arms of Henry nor holding my daughter, I was here.Curse you, Joey Quinn,Just as his name came to my eyes, my eyes slowly fluttered open. The first thing I noticed when I opened my eyes wasn’t even the pain. It wasn’t the wetness of the floor beneath me or the thin, cold air. It was him.A figure unmoving seated in a black rotating chair. He was quiet and his eyes were fixed on me.He was sitting under an exposed bulb hanging overhead. His shadow was cast in jagged fragments, cut up by the inconsistent light. One leg folded over the other, hands covering the front of his mouth, like h
