Evelyn.
Two Days Earlier.
I grunted, folding back as Axel threw a punch in my abdomen.
He smirked and I raised my head, suddenly swinging my leg at his head. He ducked as I expected, but my other leg hit him right in the face.
He staggered backward and I charged at him again, kicking his leg and causing him to fall to the ground on his back.
"Oh okay, that's wicked." He groaned and I smiled. Axel was my cousin, but more like my brother. His parents died when he was young and my dad brought him to the pack.
"I warned you," I said and I stretched out my hand to him. He grabbed it and I pulled him up to his feet.
"Eve-" I looked at the door and saw Tyler standing there. I groaned, throwing my head back.
What the hell does he want?
"What is it?"
"There's a meeting. Hurry up," he said and I looked at myself.
"I'm a mess now, I need to freshen up," I said and he scoffed, shaking his head.
"No one cares, let's go," he said and I sighed before going to meet him.
"Hi, Axel." Tyler waved at Axel before walking out of the training room.
"So, what is the meeting about??" I asked as we walked down the hallway.
"The MoonGem," he replied just as I had suspected. Everything is always about the MoonGem these days because of the coming Lunar Eclipse and it was getting so tiring to hear about it.
Maybe the reason I wasn't so interested in it was that I didn't really have a need for it. The MoonGem is supposed to be an ancient artifact that could be used to break the Werewolf curse. That is, having to go through so much pain when turning and the mandatory turn during a full moon.
"Did they find it already??" I asked as we got to the General chamber.
"Well, we are about to find out." Tyler smiled and he opened the wide arched wooden doors. I walked into the chamber and sat down on an empty seat. My father who was the Alpha sat at the far end of the long rectangular wooden table at the center of the chamber.
The other seats were occupied by the three gammas, the Delta, and seven pack elders. The chamber was not at elegant or large as the old General chamber that was set on fire. A Rogue was later found responsible.
Crystal chandeliers hung down from the white ceilings and the lights reflected off the white marble floor and the walls.
There were few paintings hung on the wall and biblical drawings on the ceiling.
"Is everyone here?" My dad asked and we all looked at each other.
"Yes," Tyler replied.
"Alright. Kaleb, go on," My dad said with a nod, and Kaleb, the Delta stood up.
"So two days ago, armed robbers broke into a museum on 5th avenue and they still some artifacts newly shipped into the country," Kaleb explained and paused.
The pack had been monitoring the shipment of artifacts for several months.
"After running from the cops, the armed robbers lodged themselves at the Ridax hotel, but someone tipped off the cops and they had to make a run for it again."
I sighed on the inside, waiting to see where this was going. Do they know where the MoonGem is or not?
"This morning, we heard a phone call to the cops on our radio and a cleaner at Ridax hotel reported that he found something in the room of the robbers and the description fits that of the MoonGem," Kaleb stated and I raised my eyebrows.
"Are you certain it's the MoonGem?" I asked.
"We don't know for sure," he replied and I muttered a skeptical "Hmn"
"But when the cops went back to the Hotel, the cleaner apologized and said that it was just Mr. Richardson's glass golf ball. Mr. Richardson was there to confirm," Kaleb said and I began to realize what was going on here.
Mr. Richardson is the owner of the Ridax Hotel, but it is only a cover-up for the illegal businesses that he involves in.
If he saw that artifact then...
"What we think is that Mr. Richardson manage to land on the MoonGem and he made the cleaner shut up about it." That was the same thing I was thinking.
"Mr. Richardson is human. He most likely doesn't know what that gemstone does, so is going to sell it at the first chance he gets," Tyler said and I nodded in agreement even though I hated it.
"I sent some men out to spy on him this morning and it seems like he's already talking with somebody concerning the MoonGem," Kaleb said and everyone frowned.
"Do you know who it is?" My dad asked.
"No, we don't." Kaleb shook his head.
"It could be someone from another pack. We need to do something. We can't afford to lose the MoonGem," my dad said frantically.
I looked around, this sounded so important to all of them. Being part Vampire, I can stop myself from turning on a full moon and turning is painless for me. No one knew this except Axel, and I also don't know what they go through.
If finding the MoonGem was so important, then this can be my chance to prove to my dad that I am competent enough to handle important issues or better still, that I am far more competent than Tyler.
"I'll handle this," I said, standing up and everyone looked at me.
"Yeah, like how you handled the Rogues lying in wait around the estate," Tyler retorted all of a sudden, and I breathe in deeply holding myself back from saying the multiple swear words that came to mind.
"I had to get those kids to safety!" I fired back at him, rolling my eyes so hard.
I knew why he was doing this. He couldn't stand the possibility of me being successful and he always wants to prove that he is better than me.
"I am going to find out if the MoonGem is still with me Mr. Richardson or not. If not, I'll track it down and get it," I said, looking away from Tyler and facing my dad.
He stared at me really before glancing at the elders in the room.
"Fine, but two of my guards are going to escort you," he agreed and I smiled lightly.
I glanced at Tyler who looked defeated and I smirked.
"I'm not going to disappoint you."
Damian. "Slow down Damian." Lauren laughed as I grabbed the two shots of scotch on the counter and pushed them down in one gulp one after the other. "What's the use of high tolerance if I can't enjoy it," I replied and she chuckled. "Kidney failure and several other infections??" She asked and I laughed. "You're kidding right??" I gulped down the last shot of scotch on the counter and I pulled Lauren up from her seat. "Damian, what are you doing??" She asked, smiling in embarrassment as I dragged her to the dancing floor. "You brought me here so it's only fair enough that you dance with me and make the most of the time," I replied and she flushed in embarrassment. "I don't know how to dance," she chuckled, but I grabbed her hand and smiled. "Yeah, you do. Just imitate me." I began to dance to the beat of the loud music echoing all over the club. Lauren chuckled in embarrassment every second as she danced and she slowly began to dance more freely. "So, where is Jenna?" I asked,
Damian. I heard Lauren scream and I looked at her to see that the door on her side had been opened and someone pulled her out. No, no, no. I tugged harder at the metal to force it out so I could stop whoever that was. "Damian!!" Lauren screamed and I got scared. The metal refused to come out, so I bent it instead, groaning until it broke. With the other piece of metal still inside me, I kicked the door on my side open and climbed down. I gasped as I saw a man holding a gun to Lauren's neck. My heart began to beat rapidly and I could hear Lauren's tense breath from where I sat. I tried to move closer to them but he held the gun closer to Lauren's head. "Don't you dare take one more step forward!" He threatened and I stopped moving immediately. "Okay....okay.... what do you want," I asked quickly and he moved out of the way so I could see the person standing behind her. Shit! It was the man who was harassing Jenna at the club. He smirked as he saw the look on my face. "You were
Evelyn. I tucked loose strands of my hair behind my right ear as I looked everywhere in the hall for the tall man in the wine tuxedo. Where the hell was he? I have to get my hand on that stone before Tyler and prove him wrong. More importantly, I had to prove to my father that I was just as efficient as Tyler. I looked at the door as I saw the edge of a wine tuxedo disappear. I quickly walked to the door and hurried out. Fuck! I cursed once again as I saw the man in the wine tuxedo stop by a black BMW. The windows rolled down and he handed something to a man I couldn't see. The windows rolled down again and I quickly ran forward, but no one seemed to take notice of me and the car drove off. Bloody Hell. I ran to my car and opened the door, climbing in quickly and igniting the engine as I drove after the black BMW. So much stress for a freaking stone I'll never need. Whoever was in that car must have noticed that I was after them as they began to zoom away at maximum speed. T
Evelyn. Shit! Shit! Shit! Evelyn, what the fuck did you do?? I hit my forehead with my palm gritting my teeth in regret. I pulled the gear, zooming down the nearly empty road at maximum speed. I slowed down as I got close to the gate of the estate. I rolled down my windows and waved at the security guards."Open the gate."The gate slowly opened up and I drove into the estate. All Werewolves should have shifted back to their human form right now. The security guards never shifted, they were all Lycans, human hybrids and the curse didn't affect them. A strategy to ensure that the pack is not infiltrated on full moon nights even though it is the most inadvisable time to infiltrate. Speaking of curses, I fucked up and I am so dead. I was so confident that I would get the MoonGem this morning, but I didn't even lose it to bounty hunters, the black market, or the cops, I lost it to another pack! I lost the freaking MoonGem to another pack and now I don't know how I'm going to face a
Evelyn.10 years ago.I walked into history class with my handbag hung on my shoulder. I smiled as I saw Jessie, my best friend, and waved at her, going to sit next to her. I dropped my bag on my desk and looked at Mr. Millie's desk at the front of the class. I was late and he wasn't even in class yet. "Mr. Millie isn't in class yet," I said and Jessie nodded. "He should show up soon." I opened my bag to take out my history textbook and I looked up as I saw the new guy, Fred walk into the class. We ran into each other at the cafeteria yesterday and we both had mutual hated for most of the available foods. He was also nice and cute. He glanced across the classroom before going to sit on the empty seat next to me. He smiled at me and I smiled back at him. I looked up again and saw that Ashton also walked into the class. He saw the both of us and I could see the jealousy in his eyes. It felt so good to see him like that even though nothing was going on between the both of us. He h
I need to get out of here. I began to run but stopped as I remembered leaving me and Jessie's purse at the bar. I ran back to the bar quickly and grabbed the bags when I suddenly felt someone hold my head from behind. The last thing I heard was the snapping of my neck. ***PRESENTI dropped the make-up brush as I finished hiding the bruises on my face. I put a short pin in my hair that was packed into a bun. An emergency council meeting will be held according to my dad yesterday and I didn't want to further annoy him by being late. I walked out of my room and locked the door. After my neck was snapped at that Vampire club, I jerked back to life a few minutes ago. I didn't understand how I wasn't dead until I found out from Jessie that the drinks we had were usually spiked with Vampire blood. I had not bloomed as a Werewolf so dying with Vampire blood in my system must have made me a Vampire and brought me back to life. It's not logical, but that's the only possible explanation
Evelyn. "For it to work, it has to be someone from the Alpha bloodline," Elder Logan said and I sat up straight as I realized that I was the only female from the Alpha bloodline. Fuck! Of course.I muttered a curse beneath my breath. But surely they didn't expect that I would get married with a random Alpha I don't know. "It has to be Evelyn."I froze immediately. What the hell were they saying? Did they really want me to get married to a man that I don't know because of a mission? My dad clearly won't be in support of this. I look up at him and the look on his face shocked me. It looked like he was considering it. Why should he consider marrying his daughter off to a stranger? Apart from the non-consensual context of the marriage itself, it would put me in danger if, after the ritual, the Alpha refuses to let me leave the marriage. "Wait, what?!" I finally talked and I scoffed in disbelief."Think about it Eve, it'll only be for 3 months and after the Lunar eclipse, you can dum
Damian. Alex pulled up in front of the main pack mansion and pulled the key out of the engine. Lorenzo climbed down from the car first and I climbed down after him. I slammed the door shut and sighed, holding on tightly to the parcel containing the MoonGem. I looked up, staring at the dark sky and the sun that was slowly peeking from beneath the clouds. Alex climbed and I acknowledged him with a nod before he walked away. I took a look at the car and let out a frustrated sigh. Two windows had been smashed when we walked back to our car and I knew it was the person who tried to steal the MoonGem from us. When I turned back to my human form, all I remembered was that someone came into the forest and tried to steal the MoonGem. I didn't remember what the person looked like or the gender. The full moon transformation was different. It was a curse and we change into wolves without intelligence, all our wolves possess then are our basic instincts and primal urges. But then, I found
