Full Moon

Damian.

I heard Lauren scream and I looked at her to see that the door on her side had been opened and someone pulled her out.

No, no, no. I tugged harder at the metal to force it out so I could stop whoever that was.

"Damian!!" Lauren screamed and I got scared. The metal refused to come out, so I bent it instead, groaning until it broke. With the other piece of metal still inside me, I kicked the door on my side open and climbed down.

I gasped as I saw a man holding a gun to Lauren's neck. My heart began to beat rapidly and I could hear Lauren's tense breath from where I sat.

I tried to move closer to them but he held the gun closer to Lauren's head.

"Don't you dare take one more step forward!" He threatened and I stopped moving immediately.

"Okay....okay.... what do you want," I asked quickly and he moved out of the way so I could see the person standing behind her.

Shit! It was the man who was harassing Jenna at the club.

He smirked as he saw the look on my face.

"You were with this bitch at the club earlier right?" He asked.

"Don't you call-" I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists tightly.

"I'll take that as a yes. Well, you're going to watch her die," he said and I shook my head.

"No please, don't," I pleaded with him, knowing that I wouldn't be fast enough to stop them from pulling the trigger.

"Kill her," he said and I tried to stop him, but I froze in place as he pulled the trigger, firing a bullet in Lauren's head.

He let go of her and I watched in shock as Lauren lifelessly fell to the ground, blood spurting out of her head.

I felt the world slow down that instant and I screamed her name loudly.

"Laurennnnnnnnnnnnn!"

I clenched my fist in anger ready to tear every one of them apart. I raised my head, gritting my teeth, but just as my claws began to extend, the leader cocked his gun and the last thing I heard was a loud gunshot.

I gasped, jerking up from the bed as I woke up. I panted heavily, sweating profusely and I looked around to see that I was in my room.

Shit! I climbed down from the bed quickly, looking at the clock on the wall. All I wanted to do was take a quick nap before I leave, but I ended up having that persistent nightmare.

I rushed into the bathroom and had a quick shower before getting dressed in a grey tuxedo. I walked out of my room quickly, and I saw Lorenzo, my Beta walking up to me from down the hallway.

"You ready?" I asked him and he nodded.

"Yes, I was just coming to call you," he nodded and we both walked out of the building.

"Are you sure about this? The full moon is this night," Lorenzo stated.

"Yeah, I know. But I've already finalized the deal and hopefully, we should get the MoonGem and get back before the full moon rises," I said and opened the door, climbing in. Enzo sat next to me and the driver climbed in, starting the car.

"Sphinx Enterprise."

I rolled the windows, looking out into the night as I reminisced the nightmare I just had again.

I was lucky to have found a mate at an early age. She was human, but I loved her so much only for her to be killed right in front of me. After I got shot, I woke up before anyone could get there and I pulled the bullet out of my heart to see the road flooded with Lauren's blood.

I could have saved her if turning into a wolf wasn't a painfully long process, so I must get my hand on that MoonGem. It has to be in my pack's possession.

The next lunar eclipse is in three months and the next one won't happen until eight years so I have to be able to perform that ritual in three months.

The car slowed down and I looked up to see the tall building of the Sphinx Enterprise headquarters where an art exhibition was being held.

I had already made all the arrangements and we don't plan to go in. I pulled out my phone and dialed a number, holding the phone to my ear.

"Yes, we're here," I said quickly and I ended the call. I stared at the entrance of the building for a while until the man I was expecting stepped out.

He was wearing a wine tuxedo and he looked around for a while before spotting our car. I rolled down the window as he walked up to us.

"Here it is," he said and handed me a bulky parcel through the window. I nodded and he left as I rolled the window back up.

"Go," I said and the driver drove us away. I thought I saw someone running after us, but the car drove off.

I unwrapped the parcel and looked at the lustrous white crystal gem. I held it up for Enzo to see and he smiled.

He looked out of the window and he frowned. I looked out too and saw that the full moon was slowly rising out of the sky.

"Shit! We won't make it back in time," I said and quickly thought of what we could do.

"Dave, there's a forest up ahead, drive there quickly," I said quickly and I felt the car start moving at a faster speed.

The car soon came to a screeching halt in front of the forest and we climbed down quickly. I walked to the back of the car, opened the boot of the car, and pulled out silver chains, handing one to Enzo and Dave.

Hurry up.

We had to be restricted before we turn into wolves or else we might hurt people. We could normally control our wolves since they had their consciousness too, but during full moons, we are usually like animals.

As we ran into the forest, I stopped and looked around.

"I think this is far enough," I said, looking at the sky one last time before quickly tying myself to a tree with the chains.

I looked up and felt my eyes turn a bright yellow color as the full moon rose in the sky. My fangs and claws extended and I stared at the moon, howling loudly.
