Lycans

Evelyn.

Shit! Shit! Shit!

Evelyn, what the fuck did you do??

I hit my forehead with my palm gritting my teeth in regret. I pulled the gear, zooming down the nearly empty road at maximum speed. I slowed down as I got close to the gate of the estate. I rolled down my windows and waved at the security guards.

"Open the gate."

The gate slowly opened up and I drove into the estate. All Werewolves should have shifted back to their human form right now.

The security guards never shifted, they were all Lycans, human hybrids and the curse didn't affect them. A strategy to ensure that the pack is not infiltrated on full moon nights even though it is the most inadvisable time to infiltrate.

Speaking of curses, I fucked up and I am so dead. I was so confident that I would get the MoonGem this morning, but I didn't even lose it to bounty hunters, the black market, or the cops, I lost it to another pack!

I lost the freaking MoonGem to another pack and now I don't know how I'm going to face anyone and tell them that I failed.

Tyler distracted me! If I hadn't seen him, maybe I'd have caught the man in the wine tuxedo before he could hand it over to whoever was in that car.

I got close to the main pack mansion and I decided to go through the back to avoid attention.

I drove to the back and slowly pulled up. I retrieved my car keys and I climbed down quickly before anyone noticed.

I walked into the building and quickly walked down the hallway to my room as stealthily as I could.

I looked up and saw someone approaching, I looked closer and saw that it was one of my dad's personal guards.

"Hi, Rico."

"Evening, Miss Evelyn."

I quickly walked past him and as I got to my room, I pushed the door open and walked in.

I locked the door of my room and leaned on the door with a loud, frustrated sigh.

"We would have won if you allowed yourself to turn," Elsa, my wolf said and I rolled my eyes, moving away from the door and sitting on the edge of my bed.

I rarely heard from her because my Vampire side subconsciously constantly trying to suppress her. How did this even happen???

"You know it's dangerous unless you're in control. I don't want a wolf with a Vampire blood thirst running around," I retorted.

"You can overcome the forceful turning and pain, did you ever consider that maybe, just maybe you can turn on a full moon and I'll be there?" Elsa asked.

Hmn. True, but-

"You said it yourself, MAYBE. It's too risky to take chances on," I replied and sighed, "I'm already feeling so bad about myself as it is, can you not make it worse?" I threw myself on the bed and kicked off my broken heels.

My dad would be so disappointed in me. I gritted my teeth in regret as I imagined what his face would look like.

I felt a sharp pain in my arm and I stood up, walking to my dressing mirror, and I looked at my left arm.

The cut from that crazy wolf was still there. Even with my Vampire healing, it would take some time to heal if I was right and it was an Alpha.

It's a pity that I loved this dress.

I loosed my packed black hair and let it fall down to my shoulder before taking off my dress and throwing it in a random corner of the room, leaving me in my underwear.

I went to my closet, grabbed a pack of bandages, and covered the spot where I had been cut. There was also dried blood on my nose and face.

I need to wash it off.

I was about to go into my bathroom when I heard a knock on my door.

Oh, man, who the heck is that?

I was going to ignore the knock, but then I heard my dad's voice.

"Eve, are you there?" I threw my head back in frustration. I knew this was coming, but I thought it'd be tomorrow when I'd rested. Rico must have informed him that I'm back.

"Yes, I'm coming," I replied and I went to open the door.

"Hey Dad," I said with a nervous smile and stepped away from the door so he could walk in.

"So?" He stared at me with a raised eyebrow.

"So?" I asked him back, gulping nervously.

"The MoonGem? What happened?" He asked and I moved back a bit to put some space between us.

Not because I'm afraid he's going to hit me, my dad never does that, but because I'm scared his gaze might reduce me to a pile of ash if he has the power.

"Answer me, Evelyn!" He yelled and I gulped. He called my name fully, he was mad.

Fine.

"I'm sure you already know what happened so why are you asking me?" I stated, holding my ground.

He looked at me in disbelief and scoffed.

"Yes, you're damn right, I know. I heard how you failed. Again." He said harshly, breathing heavily.

"Well, the mission had already failed even before It started!" I replied loudly.

"Don't you dare raise your voice at me!"

"Another pack had already secured the MoonGem, what did you want me to do? Fight an Alpha wolf and two other wolves?" I asked frantically.

"I'm sure Tyler would have done something, but hey, you sabotaged him!" He stated and I scoffed, pushing back strands of my hair that blew in my face.

"So he reported me to you. That's nice to hear. As you can see, I'm injured and tired, I need to sleep," I said quickly and he placed his hand on his forehead.

He looked so worked up right now, but the anger I felt engulfed any feeling of sympathy I was supposed to have.

"There's going to be an emergency meeting tomorrow morning, be there." I nodded in affirmation and he walked out of my room, slamming the door shut.

Jeez. Tyler. How more immature can you be?
