Chapter 2 (The starring night)

Natalie strained her body, let out a yawn, gazed at phone and mused. She was coming out late once again, as it always happens to be. A date awaited her today and the excitement in her eyes could prove she just wanted it to go perfect. Her eyes stared at the dark sky, it's stars were so bright that added up to her blooming face, the moon shone brightly too and it made her feel magic. Natalie strides towards a crosswalk and was too lost in thoughts to have noticed an incoming car. The car was rushed at her and from the looks of it, its driver was targeting Natalie. But something unusual happen! Someone saved her from the road and car suddenly derailed from the road and almost ramp over the bridge. The rescued victim couldn't believe what had just happened because it was all too swift and sudden. If she could recall, someone shoved her immediately away from the incoming car. The only thing she noted from this person was the cloak he or she wore because the gender couldn't be determined just yet. Her hands were shaking because this being in the red hood was who they haunted for and now, she had a swift contact with that person!

"CCTV footage!" She thought and headed straight to a nearby station, if perhaps she might get a footage. Well as the night goes, nothing of such was captured. The only thing she saw was herself, standing opposite the crosswalk.

"Seriously?" She growled and left for her house. That didn't stop there, she went further to her study room and brought out a file which had images of werewolves and then her eyes trailed to the being in redhood.

"Feels like a male" she beckoned, rolled her long sleeve and glared at her arm which had a scratch.

"What's this?" She thought trying not to freak out as she hasten to get a first aid to threat. Having guestimated that the scratch seems like a mark, she scoffed.

In her hand was a jotter, where she drafted plans and she wrote;

"I'm being followed... It worked!"

It was somewhat confusing but no one knows this girl's plans, while she was lost in thoughts, a message popped up on her phone screen. It was her mother, oh what a weary mother who wished to spend time with a daughter that prefers work to home.

Natalie didn't even take a look at the phone, she trod to her balcony and suddenly saw a shadow loom over her. Though she was startled by whose shadow it could be, she acted normal. Someone was after her definitely, no paranormals would want to leave their killers alive and Natalie's life was on the goal!. She swallowed hard, held the rails of the balcony and waited for this being to draw closer before striking. But something wasn't right! The shadow moved pass her and began looming away. Hastily, she chased after it, wanting to know who it probably could be. However, a scream made her stop, it was coming from the neighbor downstairs. Terrified by what might have happened, she forgot about chasing the shadow and paced after the voice that screamed.

Once she got to the neighbors apartment, she could see three persons gathered to have a look too at what happened. It was a middle aged man who was bleeding from the leg! He had a deep cut and his wife might have been petrified by it.

"We're haunted!" The first man began as he stood low to scrutinize the deep cut. It seems like he was bitten by something vicious!

"I tried attacking but... arghhhh" the man spat growling in pain.

"Is he going to die?" The second asked Natalie who might have an idea about this things since she was a wolf hunter.

"Take him to the hospital!...or he might bleed to death!" She ordered and his scared wife cried the more cussing at Natalie that she caused it upon them. Perhaps that beast might be after Natalie and her husband tried stopping him and he became a scapegoat.

"Stop lamenting and take him to the hospital!" Natalie reprimanded and left them behind. She got into her car and began to drive off somewhere in the woods as she had the direction of where she was heading to the wolf haunting headquarters. There were reports that tonight might be the blood moon and lives would be lost gravely. It was best they curb the terror before it becomes worst. Her anxious legs headed straight for Helen's office who already had it in minds to launch an attack although without Natalie's concert, that was the reason why she dismissed Natalie and that really made this girl flip off.

"Why you always do this to me?"

"You're meant to know the reason why!"

"That's because of your believe, that I am bad luck, ruining plans when we agreed earlier today that I would take the lead!" She rants with red blood shot eyes.

"Natalie... it's what others think and I don't want to lose my supporters because of you!" Helen opposed slapping her hand on the desk and pointing out the errors she had caused why on operations.

"I wouldn't just blindly cause that..."

"Earlier, you made me lose endorsements because of the fact that you made the being in red fake!"

This act of Helen shows that she didn't agree with Natalie's earlier plan and she knew who was up to this, it was none other than lucy, her competitor who wants her kicked out of the company by all means and that wouldn't work because Natalie had her reasons to join a haunting company.

"It's best you resign..."

"I saw the redhood today and I guess you need to know every detail about him..."

Helen's scoff made Natalie paused because she could tell that this woman had doubts of she meeting with the redhood!

"You're making a mistake, mrs Helen, and I would prove that to you!" Natalie concluded not wanting to pour out what she intended to. But she leaving today was certainly to prove to Helen that she would bring that redhood somehow to her.

Helen watched Natalie untill she was out of sight, she gave a devious smile and suddenly a man in dark wears appeared before her.

"We've got those brilliant plans from her, now it's time to end her life Alex" she whispered and the man chuckled while bringing out a dagger.

"I wouldn't want her getting all the glory than me" she furthered while chuckling wickedly.

Who would have thought Mrs Helen had been against Natalie all this while as this woman accorded much respect to her more than her co-workers. That made most people here envious of her but not everyone could be trust worthy.

"Don't fail me this time" Helen concluded and Alex stormed away.
