EPILOGUE

A YEAR LATER

ISABELLA

"Ales! Get your fine self over here this minute!!" I called onto Ales who was playing with the little kids at the other end.

He looked up and waved heartily at me. The kids rounded him and made him chase them around.

His mother stood at the other end, with an anxious face worried for the kids, his son inclusive.

"Stop running around kids! You will hurt your leg!" She would yell when any of the kids happened to fall. But the kid always gets back to his feet giggling and calling on Ales to come get him again.

"Mother, don't you worry yourself. The kids will be alright." I sling my hand into her arms.

She heaved. "Oh heavens! They would be the death of me."

I laughed, she can be dramatic at times. "The air is nice here. Would you like to take a walk?"

"Sure, I could use some distraction."

Did I shock you? Well, I apologise but I survived the gunshot. I was lucky to have had the shot in my shoulder and for weeks I couldn't move my right arm. It took me some time
