Lovette POV
The day was finally here. I was about to see Connor, my buddy for life. I had on a pink crop top and black high-waist trousers. I styled my hair into a messy ponytail using a polka dot ribbon. My luggage was packed and all set. I bid goodbye to my mum and left for the park. It was a 3-hour trip involving the vehicle stopping at every checkpoint.Exhausting. Thank goodness I had my phone to keep me company. I was watching TikTok videos back to back.Alas! I got to the town where the Harper’s lived. I ordered a cab to my main destination. I was feeling all sought of emotions, from excitement to nervousness. I know I shouldn’t be nervous since they are more or less my family, but it’s been 3 good years since I last saw them. I wonder if Ralph and Lowell have changed a lot since the last time. They must have outgrown some of their habits. Connor and Lowell will have been able to shift into their wolves. I was told Werewolves start shifting on their 16th birthday, and they have crossed that age since. I wonder how big their wolves will be. It’s not like I’ve seen Ralph shift before. He hardly ever does that. Who am I kidding? He hates being a werewolf.I stood in front of the building and admired the house. From the outside, the house looks posh and extravagant. It has been built with bricks covered in render and has granite decorations. Tall, rounded windows brighten the house and have been added to the house in a fairly symmetrical pattern. The house is surrounded by grass, a huge tree in the centre, and bushes on the plot’s borders. I pressed the doorbell, and the door opened to two faces grinning at me. It was Connor and Susan. I squealed, and before I knew I was up in the air, Connor tried to lift me up.“Look who has gotten bigger, I can’t even carry you like I used to”, Connor laughed.I rolled my eyes at him. He is now taller and has broader shoulders.“Hello Susan, it’s been a while” I acknowledged Susan’s presence, giving her a kiss on the cheek.“Yes darling, you look beautiful as always”, she offered to carry my luggage.I heard footsteps approach us. Looking up to see who it was, I saw it was Ralph. 3 years must have been more than enough time to become sexier. I remember him making fun of my teeth every chance he got. But I got braces later, and fast forward to now, and I have the perfect set of teeth. He looks to be 6” 2 tall now.I admired him for a second, not caring if he saw me do it. His light green eyes look like they’re piercing into your soul, and he has broad shoulders that look like he has been working out, thick eyebrows and a perfectly trimmed moustache. He was definitely the ladies’ man.He looked at me and smirked. Yep, he totally saw me checking him out. Wrong I admit. He is like a brother to me. But who was I to pass on the chance to appreciate beauty when I see one. I was shy at the gesture. I tucked a piece of fallen hair behind my ear and gave him a handshake. He rolled his eyes and pulled me into a hug.“Is Lowell not home?” I glanced around the room, noticing his absence.“Yeah, he isn’t. He went into town with my dad to get the groceries”, Connor replied. “Against his will, of course, my dad forced him”. He added.I nodded slowly, taking in all that Connor said and watching Ralph bite off his nails from where he was seated. Gross, I must say.“You have to tell me all that has happened” Connor grabbed my hands, trying to hurry past his mother up the stairs.“Not so fast, will you? She must be starved from the trip. Let’s find her something to eat first, you both have weeks to spend together. That is more than enough time”, Susan suggested.“What would you love to eat, there is this new restaurant in town, do you want to go there and check it out, or we should just order pizza and sit our butt at home” Connor questioned.“I don’t mind eating pizza”, I replied. I was too exhausted, anyway, to explore the town. I wanted nothing more than to take a short nap. I was led to the room I would be staying in. It was Connor’s room. The room was opposite Ralph’s, while Lowell’s was beside it. I quickly scanned through the room, and Connor sure didn’t disappoint as a boy, I thought sarcastically. Inside the room were posters of girls and babes on the beach. Some consisted of movie stars. There were clothes on the floor and rumpled bed sheets. Boys would always be boys.Susan entered the room, and the look on her face was priceless. Oh well, this isn’t going to go well for dear Connor.“Look how messy your room is, didn’t I tell you to arrange it beforehand” She yelled at Connor. He lifted his hands up in surrender, stepping backwards. Not like his mother would actually hit him.“Sorry, Love,” He said with a goofy smile.“I didn’t fall down, sugar. Just get your ass in here and tidy up your mess”, I replied with a smirk.Susan glanced at the room once more whilst shaking her head, then slammed the door and left the room.“Your royal highness, I didn’t think you would mind how the room looked. We used to be buddies remember? We would even eat on rumpled sheets while watching movies on my laptop.”“What changed? A lot must have changed with you,” he said playfully with the puppy dog eye.“What did you expect? I am a grown lady. I can’t go around with my room looking messy and untidy.”“Grow up, Connor, grow up,” I said in a sing-song voice.“Wakey wakey, lazy bones” Connor was trying to get me up from bed by tapping my forehead. What is it with people always trying to cut one’s sleep short? I was not a morning person, so waking up was usually a difficult task for me. Cradling a pillow to my chest, I stirred in my sleep.“Ugh, why did you have to wake me up so early?” I checked the time on the clock on the nightstand and groaned. I purposely did not set the alarm cause I wanted to enjoy my sleep peacefully.“What a beautiful morning it is, we need to catch up and explore,” He explained. He was way too excited. Sometimes I wonder if he should have been born as a female. He fits the description of a female friend. “I’m awake. You can leave the room. I’ll come to join you soon,” I told him. Hearing that, he left the room.I got up from the bed groggily. My body was still numb. Probably from the previous day’s trip. I had on oversized black tees with pink shorts, and my hair was all tangled.I went to the bathroom, splashed
"Trust me, you don't know what it feels like to be the first daughter," Tasha said, applying eyeshadow to her eyes.We became friends almost immediately yesterday after I introduced her to the boys. We chatted for a while and exchanged contacts. It was almost as if she wasn't gloomy not long ago.She was a very lovable person, a beautiful girl with a beautiful soul and believe me when I say this, her boyfriend, who dumped her, was a big-time fool.I invited her over to the house. I wanted a girl's time with her. So far, it's been nice. We watched some movies on Netflix together, gossiped about entertainment celebrities and right now, we decided to play dress up. And by dress up, I mean playing with makeup and taking nice pictures with no intention of going out.I was telling her that I was the first and only daughter wanting to have younger siblings who looked up to me.Apparently, she had more to say about it."I feel like there is a huge weight on my shoulders, I need to make sure t
Ralph POVConnell dashed out of the room in the blink of an eye. I looked towards my Father, and he was fuming with anger. Most of his anger was directed at me. Probably because I still remained in the house and did not run just like Connell did.I scratched the back of my neck and slowly stood up. Lovette looked like she wanted to be anywhere but here at that moment.“Oops, we are done for. What are you still doing in there?” Connell mind linked me. I tried to shut him out. I didn’t want to hear any more pestering from him.“And what are you still doing here?” My Father demanded.Lovette was giving me the stink eye urging me to go out with her hands facing the direction of the door.“I’ll be on my way”, I mumbled.I’m not sure Lovette heard, but I’m certain my Father heard what I said loud and clearly.“In case you didn’t know, I’m here to tell you that we have rogues roaming around, and their scents have been perceived at the Shadow’s pack.”“Every single soul must be present at th
Ralph POVI had no choice but to obey Alpha Finn because no matter how hesitant I could be, my wolf always obeyed the Alpha's command and was dominant over me. No one dares to disobey the Alpha. We were instructed to commence the wolf training immediately; currently, we were on the north side of the woods. Lowell was assigned to my group, while Connor was assigned to group 3. ArrghThis is torture to me.I'm doing this against my will."Today we are going to be doing a few rounds of fighting, our focus will also be to find out what each of you struggle with" I was addressing the wolves that have been assigned to my group."I'm going to pair you up, and we will proceed from there", I continued. They all looked at me with determination and eagerness. They seemed ready to learn.I called out two people from my group to the side and signalled for them to fight. They shifted into wolf forms, and I watched them intently as they fought. When one of them surrendered, I told them their mistak
Lovette POVThe morning sun streams through the window, gently rousing me from my sleep. I remained motionless as I became aware of the sound of birds chirping outside. I got out of bed and stood in the middle of the room, rubbing the last traces of sleep out of my eyes. I took a deep breath in the morning, feeling the energy of the day ahead of me. I walked over to the sink and splashed cool water on my face, waking up the last remnants of sleepiness.I made my way out of the bathroom, noticing that the morning sun had already started to warm up the day. The aroma of breakfast cooking in the kitchen lured me out of bed. I made my way down the stairs, eager to start the day, and was greeted by the aroma of freshly made pancakes. I sat down at the table, eager to sample the food that had been prepared. I began to eat, feeling the warmth of the pancakes and the flavours of butter, syrup, and sugar in each bite. The house was unexpectedly quiet. I was the only one at the table. Susan
Ralph POVIt became windy, and I was covered in dirt, and my clothes were dishevelled. I wiped the dirt off my clothes and looked up at Lovette. She was standing on the other side of the garden. Her long brunette hair blew in the wind. She had finished making the call, but I could tell that something was bothering her. She was standing still, staring off into the distance, her expression tense and worried. As I watched her, I began to think about what could have caused this reaction."What's wrong?" I asked, approaching her. "Did something happen on the call?"I could see the worry etched on Lovette's face as she stood motionless, staring off into the distance. I followed her gaze and saw nothing but the flowers in the garden and fields. The huge wind had whipped up a frenzy of dust and debris, making it nearly impossible to see more than a few feet in front of us."What's wrong?" I asked again, trying to wipe the dirt from my face and clothes. "Did you see something out there?"Love
Lovette POVI dashed into the house, leaving Ralph behind. I couldn’t believe what had just happened as tears streamed down my cheeks. I had been so caught up in the moment with Ralph I hadn’t even noticed Connor passing by.Now, I felt embarrassed and foolish, and all I wanted to do was hide away in my room.I shut the door and collapsed onto my bed, burying my face in my pillow. I couldn’t believe how stupid I’d been to let my emotions get the best of me. I had always prided myself on being calm and rational.Yeah, I know I had a little crush on him, but I wasn’t expecting things to move so fast. This is what happens when you don’t think before you act.I sighed as I remembered the image of Connor grinning like a fool, it was suspicious, to say the least, and I couldn’t help but wonder if it was just an act to cover up his true feelings.Who knew what was going on in his head?Regardless, I knew that he would never let me live it down. He was going to tease me about it for the rest
Ralph POVLovette stood still at the door, and her eyes fixed on the ground as she struggled to find the perfect words to say after responding to my greeting. I came here to talk about what had happened, but it looked like she was uncomfortable and was not in the mood to talk. I called her severally earlier, but she missed the calls. I figured she was pissed at me, so here I was In front of her to confirm.I glanced around the small, sparsely furnished room and realized that she probably didn’t feel like talking.Should I just leave and give her some space?I put my hands into my pocket and licked my lips as they have suddenly become dried. I hesitated for a moment, unsure what to do, but she was looking so lost and confused that I decided to stay. After a few seconds, she ushered me into the room“My bad, you can come in.”“Okay, Thanks”, I replied.I entered the room, and we both sat down on the bed. I glanced around the room and noticed that they had been a few changes to it. It
