Lovette’s POV

I sat on the couch, my cheeks hurting from smiling so much. My day had been a complete blast and for once, I had managed to forget all about the events that had transpired with my dad. Going out with friends was just what I needed to forget all my worries.

As I basked in the warm afterglow of a fun-filled day, the sound of the front door opening brought me back to reality. My mother walked in, carrying a big brown bag filled with the fragrant aroma of her favorite Chinese takeout.

"Hey sweetie, I thought you could use a break from cooking, so I brought us some dinner," My mom said as she set the food on the coffee table.
