Chapter 55

My hands were trembling as I watched the wide view while we were on the helicopter. Naz held and massaged them.

"I swear to God, if something bad happens to you or me, oh goodness." I gasped, calming my thumping chest.

I was nervous for real. I couldn't even stop thinking about Claudia's long nails when they struck my stomach. Her eyes, her pretty eyes were uncannily gorgeous but it was like a poisonous weapon. Her glares were sharp knives I wasn't sure if I could handle.

"Nothing bad is gonna happen to you. I'll protect you at all costs. Besides, she's not gonna see you. She will come for me and that will be the end of her."

I rolled my eyes, still with my thundering chest. "You sound as if you're just gonna attack a rat. It's Claudia, Nazarus! A powerful devil is giving her power! You think you can outsmart her?"

"I'm hoping I could but I'm not certain."

I gasped. "You can still back out. We can go back to your house and---" My lips froze while parting when my eyes landed at the top
