Meadow

"Did you just say Jamey Salvador? As in my boss... Jamey Salvador? I ask the nice guy who helped me up.

"Yup…As in your boss... Jamey Salvador. Are you new here?"

"Yes, I am. I'm supposed to be his new secretary," I said in disbelief

"Oh my god!" The nice guy burst out laughing so hard that tears filled his eyes. I just stand there staring at him in disbelief. Was I already fired before I even started? Did I just lose my dream job? Was my boss really that much of an asshole? I'm pulled out of my train of thought by a hand shaking my shoulder lightly.

"What's your name, beautiful?" the nice man asks

"I'm Meadow white," I say, still in shock

"Nice to meet you, Meadow white. I'm Omar Agee, Jamey's best friend and president of Salvador Inc. Welcome to the Company, let me show you around."

"I still have my job? I asked in all seriousness, but he laughed.

"You're really funny, do you know that? Let's go, you don't want to add more diesel to the fire, do you?

I follow right behind him. He showed me all the offices and told me my job requirements. I had to admit it was less work than I thought, which made me relieved, but the thought of having that monster as my boss made my skin crawl, and even worse, my office was a small cubicle right next to his enormous office, which was way bigger than my entire apartment.

Talk about a power-hungry asshole.

The job was easy, the pay was beyond good, so if it meant I had to spoon-feed Mr. Salvador to get paid, I would, and who knows, maybe he would choke and die and put an end to my misery. Plus, I needed the money. I walk into my cubicle of an office, ready to start the day's work, when the 6'5 monster walks in.

"Miss white, read through these documents, edit them, and reprint them on pastel baby blue paper with lavender-infused scent, use font size 12.5 and line spacing 1.25. Oh, and I need that before 12 pm. Don't add to your list of failures on your first day". He walks away.

When I see his door shut completely, I stare at the pile of paperwork that looks like a history textbook, then I stare at the clock on my table. He had to be joking. This had to be some sick joke. It was 10 am. Did he really expect me to finish all that work in 2hours?

Where was I even supposed to get pastel baby blue paper with lavender scent from?? And there was no such thing as font size 12.5 or line spacing 1.25. He was insane. If he thought he could scare me away, he had another thing coming…

Jamey

There was no such thing as Font size 12.5 or line Spacing 1.25, I knew that very well. But there was a pastel baby blue lavender-infused scent paper, but it was buried deep in the storage unit at the back of the building. She was new, there was no way she would know, and no way she would finish all that work in time. I was a man who cared about just means. Despite my personality, I couldn't fire her for just walking through that entrance, my entrance. I needed more, so I gave her an impossible task. I knew she would definitely fail and that incompetence would be enough reason to fire her on her first day. Perfect plan.

The thought of my foolproof plan made me smile. I hadn't smiled in weeks. Omar was right, this was going to be a good day after all.

Minutes turn to hours, and I patiently wait for the daft beauty to knock on my door and give a sigh of defeat. I was anticipating it. It was not that I cared... Why would I? I just met her, she was beautiful, yes, but daft, weak, and too crazy. On a normal day I wouldn't even notice her, I wouldn't notice her beautiful hair tied in a messy bun that accentuated her neck line or her white top that hugged her body perfectly showing off her near perfect figure or her skirt that was so tight I wonder how her round ass manage to fit into it, I didn't notice how her glasses sat the tip of her nose when she talked and I most certainly didn't notice that necklace that sat on her chest just above the swells of her above average breast. Nope, I didn't notice, and I didn't care. She was just another woman, a waste of time, space, energy, and money, my money. KNOCK…KNOCKK

The sound pulls me out of my thoughts.

It was her. She came to show me her failure. Good.

But when she came in, she walked with too much confidence; the smile on her face slapped the smile off mine. She was happy, too happy. It irritated me.

"I'm done with the work, sir. I also sent a soft copy of all the paperwork to your email to make it more convenient for you." She's still smiling. In that moment, I wanted nothing more than to dismiss the smile on her face, obviously.

"That's impossible," I said, not bothering to look at the work

"You can check for yourself, sir."

She was right, she was done. Everything looked perfect on pastel baby blue fucking lavender scented paper. I knew only one person who could help her get it, and he just signed his death warrant.

"You can leave," my jaw clenches, and my hands hold the paper so tight they start to crumble.

I couldn't help but turn my head ever so slightly to watch her leave.

I think the devil couldn't reach me, so he sent a 5'5 woman to match my pride. This was far from over.

Meadow

I never lose. Even when I lose, I still win. A few months ago, Katie introduced me to this app her boyfriend made. It scans Hard copy documents, converts them to soft copy, and edits them to meet your requirements with the use of AI. All I had to do was d******d it on my office computer, connect to the very fast office Wi-Fi, set my requirements, and leave it to do its job. While it was working, I set out to find the paper that sounds like it costs more than my rent. I made some friends asking around, but none of them could help until I remembered my boss had a very flirty bestie who looked easily manipulated if I could just look at him the right way, a very good example of pretty girl privilege.

"Excuse me, Mr. Omar," I say in my sweetest voice, "I really need your help."

"Hey, beautiful, of course I'm here to help." BINGO, I thought to myself

"Do you know where I could find Pastel baby blue paper with lavender-infused scent?" I say in one breath

"That's very specific. Why do you need it?" he asked, looking at me, confused. I couldn't tell him the main reason, so I lied.

"I heard some staff talking about it, and I wanted to see it," I say, looking at him with puppy dog eyes.

"Oh ok well it's in the storage unit at the back of the building, but it's really deep though, here use this key that opens the back door, it should be right at the door when you open it."

I couldn't hide my smile.

"Thank you, Mr. Omar, you're the best boss ever," I say, leaving the office.

It takes me about 30 minutes to get the paper and walk back to my cubicle. When I sit down, the program is already done. I just connected it to the printer, put in the paper, and watched as it printed, knowing I've won.

I'm not usually a show off, but I deserved to. So, I sent a soft copy to his email just for personal satisfaction. I watch as the last paper prints and look at the time, 11:58. I did it with 2 minutes to spare. I get up, adjust my outfit, and give a sexy, confident walk to his office.

He had just met his match. This was just the beginning.

MeadowBad decisions. That’s what he tasted like.Bad decisions I knew I would probably regret tomorrow when I told Katie but right now, in this moment I couldn’t care less. I wanted Jamey and most importantly, he wanted me.The way his tongue moved dominating my mouth told me he wanted me, the way his hands explored my body told me he wanted me, the way he gently groaned into my mouth told me he wanted me.This wasn’t one sided and that helped ease my guilt but not completely.Placing my palm on his chest, I gently push needing to break the kiss and catch my breath.Breathlessly whispering, “We shouldn’t be doing this. It-its wrong” This was wrong in every sense of the word but nothing felt so right. Our foreheads rested against each other I feel him take a deep breath.“Yet here we are.” His husky voice, breathlessly spoke.I feel his hands tighten round my waist as his mouth gently began placing kisses on the side of jaw and my ear. My ear, that was my weakness. His tongue rolled

MeadowI take it back. One date could really be that bad.I and Tony had been walking around for the past 45 minutes and my feet were sore and my toes were beginning to cramp up. I had been late, I understand, I take full responsibility for that but this was just irritating. We had visited almost every Spanish restaurant in town and for some reason they were all completely booked. Was it tourist season or something? To make matters worse, tony kept whining on about how he was sure he made a reservation and how all of this would have been avoided if Jamey hadn’t over worked me.At this point I had lost my appetite. It wasn’t Jamey’s fault I was late, we had work to do.My mind couldn’t help but silently tell me that all of this wouldn’t be happening if I was with Jamey. He always did everything with perfection and honestly he put intention into a lot of things he did with me.I missed him.“Meadow?” Tony shook my shoulder gently.“Yeah?” We were standing in front of a Chinese restaura

JameyPanic.I panicked at the office when Meadow passed the stupid message Debby gave, I panicked when I follow her from work and watch her get dinner and walk home, I panicked when I see her dumbass ex wait for her outside of her apartment, I panicked when they spent over 2 hours in her apartment and I panicked when I watched him kiss her.It was also panic that made me drive away as she walked to my car.But what was I supposed to do? How was I going to explain that I had been following her since the left work and had been watching her. She would think I was stalking her. I mean technically I was but in a good way. Or worse she would think I was a creep. The truth? I was slowly turning into one.But I knew she knew. I knew she knew I was there when she hesitated to go upstairs with him, when she looked out of the window of her apartment and when she walked calmly towards me.She knew.I was a mess without her. I didn’t think my life could get any worse but somehow, someway, it di

MeadowHe ruined it.Tony had ruined the only good thing I was looking forward to having. My chicken Caesar salad sandwich. Not only had he ruined my appetite, I had to share my food. I ordered two sandwiches for myself for a reason.I was starving and wasn’t expecting company and honesty I didn’t want any but here he was.Seated on my couch, watching tv and eating my sandwich. My night couldn’t get any worse.“We were so good together Meadow” His voice soft.I had spoken too soon. It just did.I had pretended not to notice him staring at me for the last 10 minute as I forced down my delicious sandwich. It wasn’t meant to be forced down, it was meant to be savored and enjoyed. This really wasn’t how I planned my night.“Mmh” I mumbled shoving the sandwich in my mouth allowing to not answer. My attention still on the TV when he spoke again. “I miss you meadow. I miss us”Of for fucking sake. I didn’t need this, not right now. Actually, not ever.Swallowing hard, “Tony please. I’m re

  • Tempted by the Tycoon   Chapter 42

MeadowIt had been a few weeks since work had resumed fully and it felt like all my bad decisions were catching up to me. Jamey- My boss hadn’t tried talking to me aside the single text he sent that night. The photo fiasco: Are you okay?Who was he to ask me that?He was every reason why I wasn’t but I would rather die than admit that.I restricted our communication to work related emails. It was a relief that I hadn’t had to work late or attend meetings or business trips with him, it would have been a lot harder if I did.It was for the best, but somewhere deep down I missed it.I missed him.No Meadow. No you don’t.Although, His fiancé-Debby made it relatively easier to keep hating him. She strolled in and out of his office every other day, and always left with a huge grin on her face.Whatever. I didn’t care. I’m still very thankful that Jamey had sound proof doors and walls, because I wasn’t sure how I handle hearing whatever they were doing or saying in there that made her leav

  • Tempted by the Tycoon   Chapter 41

Jamey“You did what!” I yell, staring at Debby.“Drugged you” She replied, like it was the most casual thing in the world.I wake to up an agonizing headache, 5 missed calls from my dad, 15 missed calls from Omar and 1 million new follower on i*******m.I wasn’t even on fucking I*******m.It takes about 15 minute to understand where I was, why I was shirtless and why the fuck I had an i*******m account. I hated social media, it was a fake world that I wanted no part in. The only social media I used was my email, and most people wouldn’t even consider that social media. “How the fuck did you drug me and why would you even do that in the first place?” I said standing up but fall back into bed quickly as the sudden wave of dizziness hit me.“Oh yeah, that’s the side effect of the drugs. You’ll be dizzy and nauseous for a few hours but you’ll be fine” she said scrolling through her phone. “Don’t we just look so cute” Shoving the phone into my face.I blink, grab the phone, stare at the pi

MeadowIf anyone were to ask me how I would describe myself, I would say artistic. That was by far my favorite attribute. And it doesn't matter anyway, I'm going to fire her n

MeadowAfter my first day, time seemed to fly. Jamey gave me a more challenging task, but I didn't give up. I did every single one within the time frame given. I couldn't back down from this man. JameyI hate Mondays, I hate work, I hate people, I hate noise, in short, I hate everything except money, power, and respect, maybe a good smoke once in a while, but that was very rare.
