Chapter thirteen

…Finally the meeting’s over, I was kinda lost but wrote down whatever I thought seemed important to the boss. I honestly wonder how I'm gonna give him any suggestions.

“Hi Naomi!, I’m Harvey. Harvey Cullen”, he walked over to me and stretched out his hand for a shake

“Hi Harvey, should I be bothered or worried as to how you know my name?”, I wanted to know because this was definitely my first time seeing him.

“Oh no you shouldn’t. As you’ve seen I’m in the S&F accounting dept”, he said showing off his wonderful sets of teeth as he smiled softly.

“Okay and ..?”, I asked still not getting his reasons for the introductions.

“I just want to chat with you for a bit before you head up, if that's okay of course?”, he asked.

I didn't want to come off as rude so I obliged, I wasn't engaged in anything at the moment, I might just delve into a conversation while I'm at it

“Sure you can. You have till the boss is ready to leave”, I replied as I quickly searched for the boss with my eyes and he was still busy talking with their department head.

“Okay thanks. That should be enough for now”, he said giving me another heart melting smile.

“I’m all ears Harvey”, I said giving him a go ahead.

“I really just wanted to talk you and know you personally. I saw you at the evening outing organized for you but it seemed like you were very busy that night with the boss and so I didn’t get a chance to talk to you”, he explained.

“Ohhh”, I exclaimed, still in deep confusion.

“Naomi I think you’re really pretty and I’ll like to be friends with you”, he just went straight for the kill.

“Thanks a lot. It’s nice of you to say I’m pretty and all but …”, I started but he cuts in

“Please Before you say anything else. We can just start off as friends,real good friends?”, he emphasized with a puppy dog expression on his face

He was making it really hard for me to refuse…it was low key kinda cute though I'm not even gonna lie

“Ok that’s cool. We are in the same company so we should obviously be friends”, I said with a hearty smile as I noticed Damon stealing glances at me.

I’m sure he’s worried that I'm talking a lot and as a result I'll forget the suggestions he wants me to give after this conversation.

The nerve… he really has no faith in me.

“Thanks a lot Naomi, this means alot and I’m really grateful”, he said with a bright smile with his brilliant brown eyes that still couldn’t be compared to those icy blue eyes I’ll always want to drown in forever.

“You welcome Harvey, I'll see you around then”, I said as he walked over to his coworkers.

As i scanned my surrounding only to find out that Sophie and Nora have been staring at me this whole time…. What is that all about

Harvey’s kinda cute, I was a little bit nervous and shocked when he first walked up to me, I'm not gonna lie… but clearly he was definitely no match for Damon.

I’m sure the only good things he has on Damon would be his cheerful face and the fact that he’s way nicer than my jerk.

“Wait… did I just personalize that jerk, well he’s gonna be mine anyways”, I said as I let out a chuckle, I'm extra silly today..what the heck

“Hi girls!”, I whispered to Nora and Sophie who were seated across the table,Sophie totally Ignored me but Nora gave me her sweetest smile.

“I smell a fight but I’ll prefer to focus on my jerk for now. I don’t want any more disturbing calls for Mrs stone”, i said to myself

‘‘Oh no’’, I did it again, I personalised him again…

“Let’s go. You done with your mingling?”, he asked immediately he walked back to me and I stood to leave with him.

“Mingling?... oh sir you meant the short conversation I had with Harvey?”,I asked pretty confused.

“Short conversation you say… I just hope that ‘‘short conversation’’ does not wipe away the suggestions you are to give me concerning the meeting we just wrapped up today”,he buttressed with an unreadable expression.

Wait did he just air quote me… with the two fingers and shit, I am so confused.. what the actual heck is wrong with this man. I can't even be mad, this is so laughable

“Uhm I still have them sir. I was just patiently waiting for you and he came along and we engaged in small talk, it's just an attempt to familiarize with my colleagues ”, I just rambled on in hopes to clear the air…I don’t even get the why I did that, I felt obligated for some reason.

“You need not explain yourself. Just no disturbance outside my office”,he stated putting on his cold face

“Ok sir. But you should know sir that I’m professional when I need to be and so I’m sure our friendship wouldn't be a problem or source of disturbance to you sir”, I stated as a matter of fact as we stepped in on the elevator going back to his office.

“Ohh… you became friends with someone you just met”, he whispered puzzled

“Ok, miss Steve. Good luck on that”, he said with a half hearted smile.

Ding… We got to the top floor and we exited the elevator and I walked behind following him into his office but he stops me and asks me to come with the suggestion after an hour, that he has to sort some things real quick.

~Damon’s pov~

How can she be friends with anyone so quickly, it’s definitely that man I caught staring at her all evening the night we were out.

He definitely would have eaten her whole if she wasn’t seated with me. She might seem daring and all but she’s obviously ignorant of what thoughts he might be having for her.

I never tell anyone but I'm lonely

that night she stayed with me when I asked her to, I was lonely as shit..just like every other freaking day.

It was just an evening like that I lost my mom, I was out drinking and didn’t know my mom was going to leave me that night. And till this day that is still one of my greatest regrets, that I was wasting away and wasn’t there for her.

I felt so lonely again that night and asked her to stay, although I wasn’t comfortable with it and she agreed to stay… even when I’ve not been a nice boss to her, I have been nothing but a shitty asshole to her right from the very start .

Ever since that day, I’ve wanted to secretly keep her close and I will. Notwithstanding the urge I have to taste those plum lips again.

She’s a very beautiful woman indeed, any man would easily fall in love with those mesmerising set of honey brown eyes and her lushly long tempting legs.

I’ll definitely make sure to keep her close and I won’t allow any other guy come so close to her… not on my watch, even if it comes down to using my authority as the boss, then you bet I’ll use them.

“I won’t ignore her pretty face anymore and that perfectly sculpted body, accentuated with curves in all the right places is really hard to look away from”, Damon said placing his hands on his head as he came to the peak of his decision to not ignore her…

How can one petite lady consume my thoughts like this… this is unhealthy, I feel I'm gonna regret this’ he let out a breathy long sigh as he scrubbed his palm down his face.
