Sometime later, Breed woke up. He wondered for a moment where he was. Then he remembered. He raised his head from where he’d been slumped in the chair.

Kizzy was sitting up on her pillows, staring at him.

He shook his head, yawned and stretched his large body out.

“You were here all night?” she asked quietly.

He sat forward and clasped his hands together. “Yeah, I suppose so.”

She stretched out her hand to him.
