ANMELDENChapter 4
Jared’s POV
“I’m sorry Patrick,” I say before he walks over to Amilee’s desk.
I look at Crystal’s door, but she doesn’t come out. I’m not sure this is the best play, but I also know I will have blue balls if I defy my wife.
“My Alpha is commanding this, I’ll do it,” Patrick huffs heavily.
He walks over to Amilee’s desk and I connect to Crystal.
Me-You need to at least watch him.
Crystal-Okay Baby.
She steps to her door and stands in the frame watching.
“Amilee, I apologize for yelling when a simple whisper would have been effective. I will control my temper in the future,” Patrick turns back to me, playing his role well.
I nod and return to my desk.
Me-I feel disgusting.
Crystal-Raise her up to watch her fall. She messed with me, I don’t like that. I won’t forgive her arrogance.
Me-She is going to think I stood up for her.
Crystal-Technically, you did. But Jason as you.
Me-I think we should call this off and confront my brother.
Crystal-Just let me play a little longer. Please.
There is a whine in her voice I know I can’t deny. She takes my silence as compliance and she is correct. I’m not going to blow the roof off of all this, yet.
Patrick huffs when he falls into the chair in front of my desk.
“If the Alpha ever questions my loyalty, I want everyone to remind her of this moment,” He scowls and huffs before frowning hard.
“I will remind her,” I shake my head. “She is taking this too far.”
Patrick perks up. “So go down on her, make her lose her mind, then convince her she is bigger than this while she is post orgasmic.”
Now it is my turn to make a face. “Is that how you get your husband to do your bidding?”
Patrick blinks at me confused. “There is another way?”
I shake my head and wave him back to his desk. I will attempt to talk to Crystal again when I can see her face to face. I need to read her as I’m talking. But then I get the text in the group with Crystal, Patrick and Tina.
“I win Bitches and I didn’t have to cheat. Tina reschedule the meeting currently on my calendar for 2:15 with Walter. Move him to next week, there is nothing urgent we need to discuss.”
I huff and roll my eyes. My wife. My Mate. My Alpha. My world. My Love. My reason for breathing. Pettiest woman in the planet.
I am about to respond when the door handle to my office jingles. Crystal as the entry code, so it’s not her.
“I’m about to get locked into my office. Someone get the human.”
I send to the group as I hear the code being entered incorrectly. Five bad attempts and we will need the key to override. I don’t want to be locked in here while the security company drives over with the key.
I could technically live in this office for four days. I have food, drinks, bathroom. I could, doesn’t mean I want to try.
“What are you trying?” I hear Crystal and roll my eyes. I’m getting locked in for sure.
“I just wanted to say hello, and thank Mr. Laine for hiring me,” Amilee says normally before lowering her voice. “He doesn’t love you anymore. Step aside.”
The werewolves heard her I’m sure, but I can hear them all coughing trying not to laugh. Once you understand the mate bond, like really understand it, anyone attempting to break it seen ridiculous.
It’s not love, it’s obsession. But an obsession that can’t be stratified. You can’t break it once sealed. Your eyes become blind to beauty, your ears don’t hear music the same. Everything is different. For both of us. Crystal is just as obsessed with my happiness as I am with hers. I’ll give her the world and she will give it right back.
Werewolves are disgusting when it come to mates.
“Try your birthday,” Crystal challenges Amilee.
And now I know I’m getting locked in.
“Try yours,” Amilee challenges Crystal.
“No Darling, I know the code. I want to you to see the status here. I have access you do not. I’m the wife you are not. Back to work,” Crystal never spoke above a whisper. I’m not sure all the wolves int the bullpen could hear her.
Amilee storms off and Crystal goes back to her own desk.
Me-If any point I have to pretend to be Jason, I’m nuking this!
Crystal-Party pooper! I thought the Finnish people hate violence.
Me-Finnish People do. Finnish Mated Werewolves will drink the blood off those who hurt their mates while roasting the still living being over and open pit. We will eat their flesh while they watch.
Crystal-That was too much. Too much.
Me-Don’t fuck with the Finns we have too much time to think up shit.
Crystal-Noted.
Me-Take my money out of the account.
Crystal-I want the Ben in your Wallet!
Me-Fine see you at lunch.
My phone rings a few minutes later and I see my idiot brother calling. I really hate him right now.
“What?” I answer the call.
“Want to grab lunch together? You, me, and Patrick?” He sounds gleefull. “Tina and Crystal too. The place over on Peachtree with the red and white table clothes.”
I roll my eyes. If we are going to the place on Peachtree he is planning on playing me across town with Amilee.
“Let me check with Crystal,” I mindlink her and she squeal in excitement. “Yeah sounds great. We will leave here at 12 so meet at 12:15?”
“Sounds great,” Jason is smiling.
He is going to ditch us. At least he invited all of us so I’m not sitting there alone.
My brother is an idiot.

Chapter 3Crystal’s POV“I think we should take her to the pack courtyard and drown her,” Tina my assistant scowls as we eat our lunch. I have just shared the Amilee situation with her. She is making me laugh.“It gets worse!” I chuckle. “Jason called HR today and asked if Amilee could get an assistant job. HR said her CV looked good. I said she can be your assistant.”Tina’s smile takes over her whole face. “Are you serious?”“She starts tomorrow,” I bat my eyes. “So she will be your runner and any grunt work you don’t want to do you won’t have to.”“She is going to see Mr. Laine come into your office for your afternoon quickies,” Tina warns sipping her iced tea and eyeing me closely. “I know. You may want to clear out for a while, I plan to dial up my moaning,” I smirk and Tina laughs. “Jason is going to regret getting her a job,” Tina smiles and we continue to plot Amilee’s downfall as we eat.At 5pm, Jared appears in my door. I smile and he looks at me with questions. “W
Chapter 2Jared’s POVThe alarm is brutal but this morning it is absolutely needed. After coding for hours to close the gapping insecurity, I had to make up my late night at work to my wife. Her support is everything. I was raised in an Omega household with 15 siblings, including an almost identical twin. So basically, I was just one in a crowd. The scholarship to Cambridge was everything. I got out of my village in Finland. For two years I thought about nothing but getting to America and rising above my Omega status. Then I scented her. She had braids that were long enough to cover her back. Her eyes, pools of brown and gold, her lips full and lush, her smile froze me and heated me up at the same time. I roll over and her pillow is cold. She needs sleep but I hear the shower. I look over and her bonnet is hung up. She is washing her hair. I lay back down, she is going to be a while. Two years ago she lost the braids and decided she wanted natural hair. Since then she h
Chapter 1Crystal’s POVThe first text came in while I am fastening my bonnet after getting into my relaxing clothes. Normally Jared and I put our phones in the basket by the door. But tonight I am expecting my assistant to send over a file. And Jared is still a work. A security protocol failed this afternoon on the new software for a governmental department in Europe. Jared may have risen to Owner and CEO, but when programmers and coders need the big brain, he still pulls all nighters. As soon as my hair is safely tucked away I look at my phone. The text is from a number I don’t recognize. The preview is not at all vague.“This is Amilee. I have been sleeping your husband for 4 months. He keeps promising to leave you for me. I can’t keep hiding and sneaking around. I want to be honest with you. I love him and he tells me he loves me.”Attached on screen shots of texts between Amilee and a contact named Jared. Then a photo comes in. A pretty young woman, maybe 20, maybe
