June Hanson unintentionally spent a warm night with a man she just met. All she knew was the man's first name, Drake. She vows that one day she will take revenge on the man who slept with her that night and left before she woke up. However, June lost track of him. A year later, fate brought her to meet Drake again. But it was not like June had imagined. It turned out that Drake was the CEO at her new workplace. Drake Burton, that's his name. And what June hated the most was, Drake didn't remember her at all. When Drake begins to be soft on her, fate brings her to Alarick Joseph, the mysterious, gray-eyed man who saved her life from an accident. June had no idea that she was dealing with two dangerous men. The Dragon King and the Werewolf Alpha. Strange events make June realize that she has been caught in a war that began thousands of years ago. Follow my IG: @cindychen06

She wore a gray blazer, a thin white shirt, a matching skirt, complemented by black high heels that exposed her long legs. She let go her long blonde hair, which had been neatly pinched up, when she walked in, so that it fell beautifully behind her shoulders. She looked gorgeous with those blue eyes and flawless skin, but June didn't care about her appearance at all, or the number of men's eyes on her. She was in a bad mood, very bad even.
She immediately sat at the bar, ordered a double scotch, then she contemplated the bad luck that had just hit her. As a secretary to the director, which has been running smooth for years, she was unexpectedly fired. June was fired today simply because the director's wife found her too pretty to be her husband's secretary. A very baseless dismissal. June kicked the leg of the bar table, making her fingertips ache.
"Your scotch, miss," said the bartender, handing her the clear glass that feels cold. June took a quick gulp to cool her head and heart.
"Again!" she said to the bartender.
"Okay, miss," he said, refilling the scotch and ice cubes in June's glass.
She didn't know how many more times June asked her glass to be refilled. She began to feel calm, everything felt numb in her heart. She didn't want to quit. She continued to drink while shaking her head and body to the rhythm of the loud music.
โDouble scotch for me, and for this lady next to me. I'll pay for everything,โ said a man suddenly.
June narrowed her eyes to get a better look. The man was wearing a nice and expensive suit, June recognized it as the latest release of a famous designer. He was tall and handsome, his hair was light brown, and matched the color of his beautiful eyes. His jawline was sharp and his nose pointed, reminding her of the Greek gods statues. The man smiled showing his neat teeth and charming dimples. June didn't mind being treated to men like this, or maybe because June was already drunk.
"Hey, you look like you're in trouble," he said pleasantly.
"How do you know? Are you psychic? Ah, no, your suit is too good for that, โJune replied with a smile and propped her chin up with one hand.
"You don't need a psychic to see that," he said with a laugh. Jeez, his laughter was so charming. Authoritative but not too much.
"I'm Drake, what's your name?" he asked, holding out his right hand.
"June," June replied, shaking the warm hand.
They got into a chat that June didn't know what it was. Anyway, they laughed. She thought the handsome man named Drake was so funny. Then they danced and Drake put his arm around June's waist. The next thing June knew was that they were already in a luxurious hotel room, pressing their lips together. The man undressed June impatiently and threw it on the floor, leaving only June's high heels and black stockings.
Next, everything seemed vague, June could barely remember what she was doing. She only remembers the beautiful body full of muscles clutching her body tightly. She remembered how warm and pleasant every touch of the man was. June remembered how she sighed as their bodies joined on the soft mattress. The scent of vanilla musk rose from those muscular chests. June enjoyed the sensation of his tongue in every inch of her body, making her feel a pleasure she had never felt before. June loved when Drake seemed to adore her by tracing her long legs which were still wrapped in stockings and wearing those high heels.
"I love your long legs, caught my eye from the first time I walked into the club," he said in his deep, hypnotic voice. June's heart trembled.
Drake traced her neck down to her chest with his lips, then back again to her neck, over and over again. Sweet and gentle, making June feel like the most desirable woman in the world. Either because the scotch glasses she had been drinking, or because making love to Drake felt this good. June didn't want things to end quickly. She was sober when she danced on top of Drake, enjoying the feel of being there, with those big hands touching every inch of her skin.
June couldn't remember what happened after that. The next thing she knew was that she'd woken up naked, in a messy bed, alone. A pile of money that might amount to thousands of dollars was on the nightstand with a piece of paper with the words 'Thank You' written on it.
"Shit!" exclaimed June when she realized what was happening.
Last night she was made a hired woman by a man she didn't know at all. Her pride was deeply hurt because of that damn man named Drake. June screamed as she squeezed the soft sheets. Tears rolled down even without her noticing, dripping to the thick blanket that covered her body. June isn't a cheap woman, she's never been like this. In one day she lost her job, then seemed to sell her body to an unknown man.
Unfortunately, June had to take out the thousands of dollars because she had no job and needed money for some time until she got a new job. Her savings may not be enough. June cursed herself as she stuffed all the money into her handbag.
June cursed herself for not asking the man's last name. Now how will she find that man in New York City. How many Drakes are there in New York City? She kicked the hotel bed in exasperation, but it only made her toes sore and reddened. June was jumping up and down in pain.
"Shit!" she cursed again, crouching on the soft carpet that covered the hotel floor. June hugged her knees, then sobbed. If she saw that man again, June vowed revenge. With the cruelest way in the world, whatever it was, June would definitely get her revenge.
"Drake won't agree, June," Wilona replied.“I asked for your help, not Drake. Help me, Willona. I will give you anything you want, as long as you help me, "June said again."I'm more afraid of Drake than any offer of treasure from you," replied Wilona."Please, Willona. You know what will happen to Drake if I die, right? You want to see him crumble again?” asked June.Willa was silent. He knew what June meant. Drake fell to pieces after losing Anna centuries ago. If it happened a second time, I don't know what would happen to Drake."Good. But, promise me you will protect me if Drake gets angry later," said Wilona."Of course. I'll do it," replied June.
"So, what do you say?" the Baron asked June with a smile, revealing his elongated canines."What are the risks?" asked June.“Barely nothing, June. You just need to give me your blood, not all the way through," he said as he walked closer. He circled around June's body, bringing his head close to June's neck.“You can be with him forever, June. Say, yes..." said the Baron again.“I-I…”“It's really easy, June. Don't make it difficult. You just need to chant a very easy mantra to pronounce. Say the spell and I'll immediately begin immortality," said the Baron again.June gulped, in her heart she knew there was something wrong with all of this, b
June finally arrived at the hotel she was going to. June's heart broke when she remembered the look on Drake's face as she walked away from the man. June knew she had hurt Drake a lot. However, according to June, this is the best way to save Drake's heart as well as her own. When she arrived at the simple hotel room, June immediately lay down on the bed. Her chest cavity ached, even just to catch her breath. June couldn't hold back tears, so she spilled everything on the hotel pillow. She cried long enough when she realized someone was standing leaning on her hotel balcony."Alarick?" June asked, widening her eyes. The man waved his hand with a smile. June wiped her tears quickly and opened the glass door leading to the balcony."How did you get here?" asked June.
That night, June couldn't sleep at all. She glanced at Drake who was fast asleep beside her. June tilted her head to take a longer look at Drake's face. Tears started to roll down June's cheeks again. June began to think, why fate was so cruel to her that when she really fell in love, she fell in love with the wrong person. If he falls in love with an ordinary human then everything will end well. But a dragon king was a very different matter.June loves Drake very much and she knows it. Therefore, June did not want to hurt Drake's heart. The sooner June left Drake's life forever, the better. Drake may be very sad, but he will recover faster and move on. June wants Drake to live a happy life. With June, there is no future for them. June would age, she wouldn't be able to make Drake happy forever.Because of that, June planned something that night. She secretly t
"June, what are you doing?" Drake asked as June returned to her desk. Drake could see that June looked very upset. "Oh, that's fine," June replied. "You are sure?" asked Drake again. "Yes. Maybe I'm just hungry," June replied with a smile. "Good news, I think the maids have come with food," said Drake, glancing to his left. When June followed his gaze, a waitress did come with their food order. "Thanks," replied June. They then dissolve in a warm and pleasant conversation. The food is delicious too. However, June was still thinking about Lana's words just now. He couldn't stop thinking about it, even though he tried. He saw Drak
"Lana Barryfield?" asked Drake, widening his eyes."It turned out to be you! This is a happy coincidence. Long time no see," said the woman. She came closer and hugged and kissed Drake's cheeks, they looked very familiar to each other. June forced a smile.“Lana, this is June Hanson. June, this is Lana Barryfield, an old friend of mine," said Drake. The woman turned to look at June, then she was silent for a moment."Oh, Drake. She is very beautiful," she said. But June could tell something else from the tone of her voice and the expression on her face."Nice to meet you, June," she said, holding out her right hand."Nice to meet
