Strange Man

"June?" Drake asked again, snapping June from her reverie.

"Oh, hmmm ... You might find it hard to believe, but ... I was fired because the director's wife didn't want her husband to have a young woman as his secretary," June replied honestly.

"An interesting reason," said Drake.

"Yes, but that's how it happened," June replied.

"Okay. Now we have to go. Bring my laptop and all the necessary equipment," said Drake.

June then got up, she packed the laptop that was on Drake's desk. As she approached like that, Drake could smell the perfume June was wearing. He seemed to have smelled perfume like this before, but he couldn't remember now. Maybe later, Drake thought.

"June ..." he said again.

"Yes, Sir?" June asked.

"Have we met somewhere before?" Drake asked, starting to get suspicious. June's heart skipped wildly at the question. She almost dropped the computer mouse because of it.

"Umm... No, sir. Of course not,” June replied.

"Oh, okay," Drake said, pocketing his cell phone in his coat pocket. He then stood up while waiting for June to finish tidying his things.

"Let's get to the car," Drake said again.

"Very well, sir," June replied.

When June finished tidying up his things, Drake walked ahead of June out of the room. June followed suit, carrying a laptop bag as well as her own bag. The two of them got into an elevator where it happened to be just the two of them. No other employee dared one elevator with Drake. June's heart skipped a beat as flashes of memories from a year ago suddenly resurfaced in her brain. She remembered leaning against the cold elevator wall and Drake hugging her tightly, kissing her neck to her breast. At that time they were in the hotel elevator.

June swallowed hard, trying to get the image out of her mind. Now she has imagined riding in a luxury car with a driver who takes them everywhere. However, instead of stopping at the lobby and waiting for the driver to arrive with the car, Drake went straight down to the basement. June wondered, but she didn't dare bring it up.

As the elevator doors opened, Drake walked straight to a glistening dark red luxury sports car. The luxury car only has one passenger seat. June's eyes widened, so she's going to sit next to Drake in that fancy sports car? Isn't this too close? But June again decided to lock her mouth tight.

"Come on in," said Drake, unlocking the car.

June said he stepped into the car. With the corner of his eye, Drake saw June's long legs clad in black stockings. But he immediately looked away. Drake abstains from having special relationships with women who are his own employees. No matter how beautiful June was, Drake would never drag her onto the bed.

“Don't mess up this meeting. You are only in charge of recording all the minutes of the meeting,” said Drake as the car was already driving.

"Very well, sir," June replied.

"After that we'll have lunch," Drake said again.

"Eh?" June's mind was already wandering.

“I don't want to be late to eat just because of the traffic jam, so after the meeting we immediately eat at the restaurant. It’s up to you if you don't want to eat," Drake said curtly.

"Very well, sir," June finally replied. Silently she cursed Drake's curt behavior.

They arrived at a fancy restaurant and Drake immediately got out of the car without a cue as soon as he reached the main door. The valet parking clerk knew Drake, he immediately saluted and immediately walked into the car. June hurriedly got out of the car, carrying all the equipment she needed to carry.

June jogged following Drake's long steps to the VIP room that had been reserved for them in the luxurious restaurant. An LCD screen has been installed on one wall of the room. The meeting participants seemed to have come first, they stood up and then shook Drake's hand with a smile. June just smiled and acted as professional as she could. It has been a long time since she attended meetings like this.

June sat next to Drake, she quickly set up the laptop, plugged it into the LCD projector. She then opened the presentation file that had been prepared just now. Drake smiled faintly. The meeting went well. June recorded all the results of the meeting quickly and accurately. Until the meeting was over. The meeting participants left one by one, leaving only Drake and June in the room.

“Good job, June. Pretty impressive for the first day. I'll buy you lunch, get me a menu book," Drake said with a smile. In a dim room like this, June could swear, she saw Drake's eyes glow like fire even for a glance. After June blinked, Drake's brown eyes returned to normal. June then sighed. Maybe because there were too many shocking events today, June became delusional.

"Okay, Sir. Wait a minute, ”June said. She then walked out of the VIP room to get the menu book. Drake's eyes couldn't help but pay attention as June walked out of the room. Those two long legs wrapped in stockings, it seemed like Drake had seen her before. Ah, but there are so many women with beautiful legs like that. He doesn’t know how many Drake has met in his life.

Shortly thereafter, June returned with her menu book along with a waitress who was ready to take all their orders.

"What do you want to eat? Anything is fine,” said Drake.

"Okay then, I want Foie Gras," June replied with a smile. She ordered the most expensive menu in this restaurant, at least that was her way of getting a petty revenge. Even though she actually knew, buying a serving of Foie Gras wouldn't bankrupt Drake.

“One Foie Gras for her and one Beef Cordon Bleau for me. Drink, orange juice for me. What do you want, June?" asked Drake.

"Orange Juice sounds fresh," June replied with a smile.

"All right, two orange juices," Drake said to the waiter.

"Excuse me, I'm going to the toilet first, sir," June said right afterward. Drake nodded, then looked back as June walked out of the room. He then smiled to himself because of his naughty thoughts. That won't happen, he told himself.

June walked straight towards the toilet, but suddenly someone shouted, pointing up June. A large wooden block that was a decoration on a pillar fell directly onto June. It was too fast and June could not possibly escape it. June screamed as she closed her eyes, ready to accept the pain she was about to endure.

But suddenly, June felt a strong hand wrap around her shoulder. A loud thud could be heard afterwards. June opened her eyes to find Drake was hugging him and the log had fallen on the floor. The beam was about two meters long and very heavy. June couldn't imagine if she was hit by the log.

"Are you all right, June?" asked Drake.

"H-How could that be?"

The words just slipped out of June's mouth without being able to hold them back. The log was clearly right above her. How could it be, the beam could slide and fall one meter from where she stood. Was it possible that Drake could push such heavy logs in such a short amount of time? Wasn't Drake still in the meeting room earlier? The questions confused June.
