1 - Rejected

“I told you not to flirt with me when we’re training,” Hunt told me after I missed my sidekick to his left.

“Oh really?! You’re so cute when you tried to be serious.” I mocked him with my seducing whisper while already lowering my center ready to give another kick.

The next thing that happened was he caught me off guard. He moved fast and pinned me to the wall while saying,

“You ARE the death of me, Andrea,” he growled so low and kissed me fiercely while I welcomed him with both of my arms on my head. I was ready to have his hands all over my body.

That was when I thought I finally got my happy ending after the misery I experienced three years before when I was rejected by my spouse, whom I thought would be my forever mate.

I had been wrong, and I was wronged, so bad.

And there were some more after what I thought was my happy ending with Hunt. My life wasn’t even getting easier, even more, complicated, and crushed this different she-wolf into pieces. But I was born to be a warrior of the Nasriantra clan, whatever destiny brought me, in the end, there was always someone there to pick me up from the tiny pieces of soul I had. My name was Andrea Nasriantra, the Beta clan of Liberty City of werewolves and this is my story to find out …

***Three Years Ago***

"Get out! You filthy she-wolf!" He shouted at me, the young woman with golden glowing gold eyes, blond hair, and pink plump lips ready to be kissed, bitten, or eaten.

At least those were the things I did with Tobias. He was the one that I thought I would end up with and spent the rest of my werewolf life making pups and growing his small clan. After all, I was the Nasriantra, the Beta clan in the Liberty City swore to be loyal to the highest rule, the Alpha clan, the Moonlight clan.

If only Tobias remembered all the delicious things that he could do with my inviting lips.

Still, that didn't change the fact that he despised me. Here I thought male-wolf would be satisfied with the sex, as I did. At least it was enough to keep me stayed faithful to Tobias as his Luna.

But I was wrong.

He had his reason which could be considered absurd.

"You're not welcome in my house anymore, since your mom had finally left us forever! I accepted the marriage just because I saw your mother. She was too kind for me to be rejected as I had to marry her daughter. If my dad didn't have a debt to your Nasriantra clan, I wouldn't bother to marry you!"

So it was just because you had a debt to my clan? or just because you were in love with my mom? You filthy Tobias!

I mumbled in my mind. Hoping Tobias, my spouse five minutes ago, now just a former, listened to my scream in my mind. I tried to make points with my former spouse.

How could it be that easy for Tobias to break that bond? I just didn’t get it.

Tobias Edmund had hoped that if he married a Nasriantra, then his small clan would thrive. But it was nothing since my father wasn't around and my mother had just passed away.

A clan without an alpha was said to be one of the weakest clans. Now, I was left alone in my only Nasriantra clan.

But then again, I always thought that I'd be tired to learn to love Tobias for the rest of my life as I thought that I didn't have chemistry with him, let alone love him for who he was.

It was just the sex that was okay, the basic werewolf's needs that any creature with animal instinct could do it successfully.

Especially when Tobias’ head was between my legs that I was forced to lift my hips couldn’t take the satisfaction he gave me.

Still, I was a strong she-wolf with strong desire and passion.

Tobias was an impatient male wolf mated with me, the sex-driven she-wolf.

Still, that didn't change the fact Tobias annulled our marriage and threw me to the street because there was no one left but me in the Nasriantra clan.

All the male-wolf in the Nasriantra clan were in the battle of conquering rogue werewolves outside the city.

So now I was on my own.

At that time, I thought that I couldn't find a mate, so I joined the werewolf forces with my best friend, Joe, a childhood friend from a small Akhmedov clan who had always been with me since we were children.

But my adventure with Joe would be for the later story. For now, let me tell you the possible reason why Tobias hated me and threw me into the street after we had my mom’s funeral.

My mother’s cause of death was still a mystery as well that later I had to investigate in another chapter of my life.

For now, let me tell you how hard it was to be a different she-wolf.

Before I was born, the Liberty City of werewolves was ruled by three major clans. The highest Alpha of all Alphas was the Moonlight clan, and two Beta clans, Nasriantra and Gursala. Hunt was from the Gursala clan that I would meet later while I was joining the Force.

Moonlight clan had a lost son said to be hidden before the Moonlight clan became the Alphas. The Beta Gursala clan, the Hunt clan, said to be the loyal of them all, remained to be the Betas though they had two eligible sons as Alphas. One was a real Gursala, Duncan, and the other was the adopted one, Hunt.

Nasriantra clan, my clan, at this moment didn't have an alpha because my father had to battle the rogue werewolves outside Liberty City. Left only me, the last of my kind, the Nasriantra clan.

A She-Wolf didn't have her Alpha said to be a weak clan.

In the world of Lunas with blue or green eyes here in Liberty City, I was different. I was the rejected Luna after my mother died. My mate, Tobias, threw me away because my eyes were glowing gold like a demon. Suspicion aroused that I was a hybrid or even a Tribrid, which was impossible because they all had died.

At least that was what Tobias believed. Thus he rejected me and threw me into the street.

Later I found out, it was Tobias who spread the rumor that I was a hybrid or a Tribrid. He did that so that the day he threw me to the street, no one would stand by me except for my best friend Joe from a small clan, the Akhmedov clan.

He had only his mom as well. We had the same condition being the last of our kind. He was with his mom, and I was with my mom. The only difference was I was from a famous Beta clan, the Nasriantra. Joe said I was a living trophy to be won by anyone who wanted to lift his clan to higher status by marrying me.

Joe was right, and Tobias Edmund took advantage of me by marrying me and throwing me to the street. He’d be known as the alpha who rejected the legendary Beta Nasriantra clan, and I was too blind to see it as it was my mother’s intention to have me married by Tobias because she was worried that she wouldn’t live longer to see me graduated as a Salutary.

Salutary was my dream that I wanted to be the she-wolf who could make potion and cure others. Moreover, I wanted to be useful later when my father went back from battling the rogue werewolves outside the city. The next trip going out of the Liberty City, I had to be with my father and be useful for the clan.

Alas! My mother was accidentally stabbed in the market when she was doing the grocery shopping. From the sickness that I knew she had from day to day, and the way she couldn’t shift to her wolf because she said that she was too weak to do it, it was because of the Wolfsbane.

It was just strange why a pickpocket in the market would have a knife dipped to the Wolfsbane. I was lucky I was in a Salutary education so I could recognize if a wound was caused by the Wolfsbane.

Joe said that it was Tobias who made the scheme. He poisoned my mother and offered himself to marry me. For even surprising reason, Tobias were in love with my mom. Imagine me, the blond, lean body with green eyes and with mature look of a she-wolf. My mother was a beauty.

The only difference was I had glowing gold eyes and younger. My mother rejected Tobias because she was faithful to my father and she longed to wait for my father to come home.

In a subtle way, my mother rejected Tobias by saying,” My dear boy, I am as old as your late mom, why don’t you just marry my daughter?”

I knew the look when Tobias first saw me. It was a look of a male wolf seeing the doppelganger of a she-wolf he loved because he saw me and my mother back and forth that finally he smiled while saying, “You two really look alike, like there are two of you.”

Tobias reached my hand, lifted it to the air and saw me in the eyes. Though I could see his eyebrow flinched a little bit when he finally could see the real color of my eyes from a closer look. “Only the eyes that are different,” he said.

Then his smile became bitter but still he said to my mother, “Then I’ll marry your daughter as I admire you as an amazing woman.”

I remembered my mother gave a lazy smile more like mocking showing that she didn’t really like what Tobias had just said. But she couldn’t do a thing except for accepting the hand of marriage from Tobias for me. She knew her body became weaker day by day, and that she needed to have someone looked after for me.

That was the only reason my mother accepted Tobias to be my spouse. She hoped that his love for her would be big enough to take care of her daughter who looked a lot like her, me.

But she was wrong, and I was wrong for not avoiding the possible misery that would come after. I regretted as well that I didn’t listen to my childhood and best friend, Joe that Tobias was onto something.

Joe was the top of the class in Salutary Institute, and I was too stupid not to believe in him because I wanted to put my mother’s mind in ease that if it was her time to finally left me because of the worsened condition of her body due to the Wolfsbane poison, she would finally die in peace knowing that I had someone to take care of me.

Not just Joe, but also a husband, Tobias.

It was futile to cry over a spilled milk, but I already left stray in the street and I couldn’t finish my Salutary education as well as it needed money to graduate. I didn’t have enough proof as well to prove that it was Tobias’ doing for all this time.

That Joe was right I didn’t see it coming.

“Don’t you think it’s an extreme coincidence that your mom was stabbed in the market, poisoned by Wolfsbane and Tobias who loves your mother suddenly appeared then offered to marry you? You’re a smart woman, Andrea. Please don’t accept him as your husband. What if he dumped you after your mother is gone? What if he marries you just because he wants to lift his small Edmund clan to a higher status by dumping the legendary Nasriantra clan? You know I wouldn’t do that to you just to raise the status of my small Akhmedov clan.”

I frowned at that time, before I was married to Tobias. But I couldn’t say no as my mother was getting weaker. I got married to Tobias, being the lovey-dovey for a while. Then got dumped right after we had my mother’s funeral.

Joe was too timid to stand by me, so I was left strayed on the street. What more surprising was there was my mother’s will that I didn’t know it existed stating that all property belonged to Nasriantra clan should be held by Andrea’s husband to fulfil all my needs in my marriage.

I was shocked when Tobias told me that Nasriantra didn’t have any money left not even for me to graduate from the Salutary Institute for later to find a decent job. All the things that he spoiled me with, was because he was using my clan’s money to pay for the expenses.

My golden eyes were almost popped out of their places when I read the bills. All the details stating that my everyday life was supported by my clan’s money. So Tobias was deceiving me when he said that he was doing business. He was using my clan’s money.

I was broke, I had no money left and Joe with his mom were so kind to me as they accepted me in their house to live for a while. He still learned to graduate from the institute, and I learned from him as a Salutary.

With his warm dark brown eyes that I thought there were love for me more than just being my best friend, Joe asked me with his sad tone, “So, what now? What are you going to do with your life, Andrea? I’m with you in every decision you take …”
